March Favourites

Wow March went kinda quick with a mixture of deadlines and it been my birthday its been a up and down month but it feels so weird a quarter of the 2015 has gone already. Still I always love looking back at what I’ve been loving this month as it makes you look back fondly.

Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Viridian: I found a cute set at TKMaxx which contained this and a beautiful pink glitter colour however, this was my favourite colour out of pair and it has a beautiful pay off.  Some may see it as more of a autumn winter colour but I’ve been loving it this month, it lasts ages without chipping too. I don’t know if I’d buy Illamasqua nail varnish full price as it seems way too overpriced but from TKMaxx well worth doing.

Rimmel’s Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob: I’ve been obsessed with this lip liner ever since I picked it up and I’ve worn it loads, a perfect lip colour from everyday to a night out no matter what you are wearing. If you want to see my full review check it out here.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick in 08: Although I love the matte lip look but I wanted a matching lipstick for much simpler reapplication and a different finish. Also the combination of this plus the lip liner has major staying power and is my new favourite lip combination.

Boots Cotton Wool Double Faced Round Pads: The last lot of superdrug cotton pads were really rough on my eyes, so I thought I’d try some of the boots pads. These ones are really cool with two different sides one that is cushioned which is best for been gentle and applying lotions while the other side is compact and textured which doesn’t fluff up so is great for toner or removing nail varnish. Its both gentle and exfoliating so is a perfect addition to my skin care routine. Also these are relatively inexpensive and are often on a multi-buy offer so well worth picking them up and giving them a go.

The Body Shop Foundation Brush: So I got the full brush set at Christmas and absolutely love all the brushes and use the eye one all the time but this month I have especially being loving the foundation brush. Sometimes I opt for a sponge often as its so quick and effortless but I feel like if you take the time it is so worth it.

L’Oreal True Match Foundation in C1 Rose Ivory: I initially had a love hate relationship with this foundation as some day it looked great and others it didn’t. Now that I take time with the base, use less and apply with my body shop foundation brush taking the time to blend it is flawless every time and it does build up well if you take your time with each layer. I also love the colour range for this foundation as there are so many colour options you can get it pale enough and get it the right tone I thoroughly recommend trying it out.

So what have you being loving this month?

Impromptu Mini Haul

mini haul

So I popped down the road to pick up something for my parents for my sisters birthday from the shopping centre which is half outlet shops, half regular shops and as always I could not resist buying  a few pieces.

superdrug face mask & colab dry shampoo

Superdrug

Superdrug Purifying Cucumber Peel-Off Mask: I’m completely out of face masks and I just thought I’d pick up a few of the sachet ones as they were 3 for 2. I love peel of masks as my face always feels so clean afterwards and I picked cucumber as I wanted it to be fresh feeling afterwards. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.

Superdrug Tropical Cocktail Peel-Off Mask: Another peel off mask but this time its a fruity variety but its absolutely lovely. I think this is definitely more of multi-tasking mask rather than a relaxing type day as its more zesty but great for a little bit of TLC regardless. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.

Superdrug Yoghurt Smoothie Mask: This is my perfect pamper treat it a lovely hot deep bath, a couple of youtube videos and it is pretty much a perfect night in. I’m really looking forward using this at the weekend after my final coursework deadline. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.

Mini Colab Dry Shampoo in New York: This was actually something I needed and I’ve been curious about the colab range but thought I’d pick up a mini just in case I don’t like it. Also it lasts me ages even just a mini because I use it so infrequently but I excited to try a clear dry shampoo. Let me know what you think of the colab dry shampoos if you have tried them before and what you think off them.

The Body Shop Minatures

The Body Shop Outlet

Yes I have a body shop outlet a 10 minute walk away from my student house and I absolutely love that fact. In body shop outlets they tend to have most of the usual range as well as some discontinued stuff and just a general array, the best thing about it is all the miniatures (you’ll see some of them below) so when I book my holiday I’m going to stock up on a few simply because they smell delicious. Anyway how the outlet body shop works is some stuff is normal priced while other bits are reduced but the big discounts are from making multi-buys. Save 30% when you buy two, save 35% what you buy 3 and save 40% when you buy 4 or more so if you pop in to buy one thing you’re better to pick up another little something that’s cheap then you make major savings. Anyway on to my mini haul.

The Body Shop Almond Hand and Nail Cream: This was a repurchase as I’m running out of the one that lives in my bag. This is the smaller size as even though the massive one is better value for money this is a much better hand bag size which is when I tend to use it out and about on the go. Also this smells absolutely amazing, it reminds me of bake well tart so absolutely delicious. I am aware they now have hand cream in all the favours which have the same silky feel put I prefer the more subtle comforting smell of the almond one and I think I will continue using it for years to come. Available from The Body Shop for £5.00.

The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter for Dry Hair: So this is essentially a hair mask which smells divine and I am so excited to give it a go at some point. Once again I have gone for the smaller 50ml pot which will at least last two washes and with the 40% of was only £1.80 anyway so what you’d pay for a sachet hair mask anyway. The reviews seem mixed so I’m highly interested to find out more about it. Available from The Body Shop for £3.00.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner and Vitamin E Cream Cleanser (60ml): Two more travel sized options but I have loved these when I’ve used these in the past and with trips in the summer and travelling for job interviews I thought it would be a great idea to pick up some miniatures so my skin care routine doesn’t have to suffer when I’m away. Available from The Body Shop for £3.50 each.

As I brought 4 items I managed to save 40% this costing me only £9.00 instead of £15.00.

So what little bits have you picked up recently? Have you picked up any bargains recently?

Empties #5

1

As I seem to go through phrases of empties everything I own seems to be running out out of everything simultaneously at the moment in massive lumps and chunks. I think it seems like more as everything that seems to last forever have run out at a similar time so its a big bunch. Anyway you guys know the drill, you look at my rubbish and I give you guys a mini review of it. So I apologise that it hasn’t been long since my last empties these things happen as I’ve had so many empties lately.

Make Up

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer for Dry & Sensitive Skin: I absolutely love this stuff, it will forever be a part of my make up routine. I am indifferent to the normal vs. sensitive so I just pick up what ever is there or on offer as I have normal to dry skin and they both work amazingly. I had dreadfully dry skin over the start of the year and this was such a life saver just adding a super moisturising base for my make up.

Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool: I’ve had this for ages but kept putting off using for ages as it had cracked but at home its not that messy to use and I have so many opened pressed powders I thought I just need to use it. This used to be my favourite before trying the Collection Pressed Powder, it is still a great powder and is really inexpensive I just much prefer the collection powder and as Superdrug is more convenient to me so its easier to grab collection.

Collection Pressed Powder in 18 Ivory: As I’ve mentioned above this is my all time favourite powder and I’ve already go a replacement, it is nice they go so light with the powder colours but it doesn’t look to chalky or white on the skin. If you are a pale girl I suggest trying it as it is only £2 ish.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair: This is one of those beauty blogging super hyped products that is actually worth it. It has such a high coverage and blends so easily, I’m not keen on this for under the eyes but its perfect for covering up blemishes. The only thing I hate about concealers in this style is the packaging as you can easily tell that there is loads of product left but you cannot possibly reach it.

NYC Cover Stick in Light: This one sucked its so thick, my mum has it and over summer I used it and it was amazing but I couldn’t seem to get it to work. Maybe I got a dud one but it doesn’t bother me too much as it was so inexpensive its not like I wasted a ton of money but I’ll stick to other concealers from now on.

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist: I got this for event work last summer to try and help my make up last all day when rushing around. I have less of a need for it so I’ve been using it for my long ass day at university and work or for special nights out. For £5.00 this was great as it really helped my make up last and I think I may repurchase although as I do not currently have a need I haven’t bothered yet.

4

Bath and Body:

The Face Shop Sparkling Wine Face Mask: This was another little Canadian treat from Danielle and I just this a relaxing bath treat before my birthday. I love using face masks and I think I’ve been converted to small packeted and paper/cloth ones. This also smelt like fanta grape which is a huge plus in my head.

Sweet Snuggles Vanilla Bath Fizzles: I picked these up cheaply from Superdrug as I’m not allergic to them and I love vanilla. However they were a bit of a dud they added nothing to the bath no smell, change to water or anything which kinda sucks but it was worth trying maybe I’ll find something better elsewhere or I’ll stick too loads of bubble bath.

Ted Baker London Body Souffle: This was another little thing I got in my gift set for chirstmas from my sister and I love the scent its so pretty, in case you were wondering its rose and sandlewood. I’ve just been using it after my shower most mornings and it simply soaks into the skin leaving it silky smooth and smells awesome. I might buy a full size on its own at a later date once I’ve used up all of my body shop body butters up.

Dove Go Fresh Anti-Perspirant in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena: I love this deodorant and I think I’ve had this in an empties before its simply my go to I love Dove products and deodorants and this by far is my favourite one. To be fair there isn’t much more to say.

Sanex Zero 24 Hour Deodorant: I have no idea if this is TMI or not but when I used to shave my under arms they used to get really irritated and I know you aren’t technically meant to use deodorant after shaving so I use this every few days when I shave under my arms so I’m protected and I’m no longer irritated.

6

Hair

TRESemme Heat Defence Spray: These bottles always seem to take forever to use up even though I use it every single time I put heat on my hair from using my hair dryer to straightening my hair. This stuff works so well and I always make sure I have a back up, I even have a travel sized one for holidays as its just that good and the travel sized ones are adorable.

Have you tried any of these products if so what do you think and what have you be loving at the moment?

I just don’t get it? Products, brands and thinks I’ll never under stand the hype for . . .

PicMonkey CollageThere are some things I will never understand the hype for and being part of the blogging world it is harder and harder not to get caught up in the hype. Over the years I’ve got caught up in the hyper for certain products, brands or like doing certain things and here are things that others seemed to love that I simply don’t understand.

 LUSH

This is half I don’t get the hype and half the fact I’m allergic to half to products. Just a little note I’m allergic to lavender oil, and a few other essential oils which most of the products contain so I’d swell up, have the hives and if the lavender oil is evaporated into the air it starts to restrict my breathing (sad times). On the other hand, I think a lot of the products are overpriced. In addition to that the shop stinks it is just too much overpowering fragrance and I just find the whole experience patronising.

I’ve also run into issues with when I explain to staff at stores my allergy problem they get exasperated when I ask what is in products when it’s not clear. I waited until they were doing nothing and asked them, I’ve worked it retail I know when to ask for help. If I don’t know what is in it I’m not going to buy it allergies are hell I don’t want a swollen face ect. so I am just not going to give them the time at the moment.

 Soap and Glory

I have nothing against soap and glory and I love the bath and shower stuff I just can’t seem to get on with the make up line, none of it seems to work for me. Especially the concealer or eye-shadow primer they are simply awful. My thing here it that they are over hyped or they simply don’t work for me but I guess they work for some people. I love the body stuff though so its no biggie.

 Red Lips

You may already know a I’m not a like person instead favouring eyes but red lip stick does not suit me and I’ve seen it on a lot of people that it does not suit although they may not of found there correct colour like me. There is just a expectation that girls should wear a red lip sometimes or own a red lipstick which is stupid. Wear it if you want to, leave it if you don’t and don’t get forced into it. Also please make sure if you want to wear a bright lip just make sure it suits.

Benefits Packaging

Is it just me or is most of the Benefit packaging cheap and tacky for the price? With a similar price point to that of YSL, Dior ect but with cardboard packaging and gimmicky ideas it just doesn’t seem worth the money. I have liked several things I have tried but I don’t find that it is worth the money and I rather spend it or urban decay or YSL. This is a personal preference, and some of the products are good, some excellent but the packaging just doesn’t do it for me it simply makes it look cheap and tacky and I have no desire to give it pride of place on my dresser. For me if I choose to splurge Benefit it will sit in my stash but the tacky packaging will remain hidden.

The Crazy world of BB, CC and DD creams

With all of Blemish Balms, Colour Correcting and Daily Defence creams its hard to know exactly what everything it meant to do and if they really do anything different at all. I cannot simply keep up give me a tinted moisturiser with a mixture of foundation levels of coverage and concelears and I’m happy. Maybe one day I’ll find one I’ll like but I haven’t yet and my biggest problem is shade selection, I’m so pale that these things will never be in my shade so prehaps that is my issue with them I’ll never know.

Lash Primer

Maybe this is one of those don’t knock it until you try it kinda things but I’m not sure this is actually worth it. Just layer up your current mascara or something as surely that is exactly the same thing. Surely putting on two layers of your current mascara is better as you have no white showing if you miss a bit ect. I don’t see much point but maybe this is something I should try first . . .

So there is a much of things I feel are over rated or just don’t get, what do you think is over hyped? Let me know in the comments below.

What I got for my birthday . . .

Hi guys, if you didn’t know I turned 21 over the weekend exciting I know. For the day me, my boyfriend, my best friend and her boyfriend went to London Zoo as I’m a big kid inside. As I’m currently at university I don’t get all the family gifts and as I don’t know what I want my parents put my birthday money to one side for when I decide what I want. So if I want something more expensive and nice in a few months they’ll get it for me rather than wasting it now. Saying that I was still spoilt by my boyfriend and besties ect. so here we go.

ZSL London Zoo

LOTR inspired art

My first gift from my boyfriend was the ZSL London Zoo tickets, because his amazing and it was a great day out. He also brought me a beautiful piece of LOTR Inspired artwork which I had spied on etsy a while back. The piece is based on the final chapter of Lord of the Rings: Return on the King as the elves leave middle earth. I love Tolkens world, both the books and the films and I think this is such a beautiful piece with it actually made from the pages of the book, mine are the pages from the battle of the shire.purminerals, ciate & rimmel

Next up is what my best friend at uni got me and I honestly wasn’t expecting anything we were just going to do something together as its both of our 21sts at the weekend. Anyway she brought me Purminerals Holiday Elements set, which is a really cute little set with three looks, and a little travel thing so great for touch ups or going away. I’m excited to try it out as I’ve never tried any purminerals make up before. Then she got me two Ciate Paint Pots in Members Only and Doll Face which are incredibly pretty and great nude go to colours. And finally as she knows I’ve developed an obsession with east end snob by rimmel she picked me up a back up one.swarvoski tennis bracelet

My sister spoilt me this year buying my a Swarovski Tennis Bracelet, its a beautiful piece and I’m so glad to finally have this as an addition to my collection as I’m all for just a few well made piece.

LOTR mug & Chocolate controller

white chocolate and raspberry cupcakes

My best friend from back home brought me a Tolken Inspired Mug, which just adds to my expanding Tolken collection and you can never really have enough mugs. She also brought me a chocolate controller as I said me and my boyfriend need a second controller for his Xbox One, this one is so much better and finally she made some beautiful raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes nomnomnom! Oh and I got malibu.

21st themed gifts

My boyfriends family brought me some lovely 21st themed pieces, starting with a lovely 21st frame which I am filling with a picture from the day. I also got the lovely wooden 21 which I am slowly getting people to sign which is an adorable ideal to remember the occasion.

Hello Kitty Food and Drink

My parents tend to give me money so I am yet to spend that however, my mum every year get me a bunch of jokey presents. She always gets me Hello Kitty stuff without fail, for Christmas I got got Hello Kitty salt and pepper shakers. For my birthday I received a Hello Kitty Pomegranate Iced Tea which I don’t want to drink and have to throw  the can away, as well as an adorable Hello Kitty Cupcake Set. finally She brought me a cute little bear with a 21 badge of course.

So that what I got for my birthday and I am truly thankful for everything I have received and I even have more money to spend which I probably will go on a shopping spree over easter.

Primark Beauty Products: Review and Swatches

primark make up review and swatches

So as you may of seen last week in my primark haul, I purchased a load of there beauty range called P.s. Love although I couldn’t try as much as I wanted as the range was limited at the store I visited so I may do a part two some time soon.

Also I cannot seem to find the names of these of them although they all have a code on the product starting with a PS so I will try my best to describe the colour and write this code at the end.

P.S Love single eyeshadow

Eyeshadow Single: £1.00

I only picked up one single as it was simply a choice between this colour I got and a white so I thought I’d get most used out of this. Its a warm champagne taupe kinda colour, very natural, the swatch is similar to how it works on the lid and it adds a shimmery wash of colour. The high amount of shimmer I am more likely to use this for an evening look but its a good basic colour to have in the collection.

It is slightly chalky though and you need to ensure you tap the brush on you’ll end up with it all over your face and you do have to build it up to get the colour the same as it is in the pan. I think the singles at this price point like MUA and Make Up Gallery can be variable, some are amazing and some are awful. This is sort of middle of the road, you won’t loose out by purchasing it but there are definitely better options out there.

The packaging is simple and actually feels robust as it has the satisfying click and it does not just open on a whim. The pan is a great size and you  get a good amount of of product which I’m happy about, no one could ever be disappointed with how much you get. Finally there is a small mirror in the lid, not a practical size for application but its a nice touch and I appreciate the thought to include it. The single I tried is PS2994.

P.S Love Lift and Curl Mascara

Lift & Curl Mascara: £2.00

I really wanted to try a Mascara but had no idea where to start so I picked the lift and curl mascara simply because purple is my favourite colour, logic I know. The brush of one long side and one short side similar is becoming more and more popular these days which is great as I am thoroughly enjoying. This brush type really does create the curl and I absolutely love it, this didn’t quite match up to Benefits Roller Lash mascara but I’m loving the curl it creates and for only £2.00 it is worth checking out.

P.S. Love eyeliner duo

Eyeliner and Pencil Sharpener (2pack): £1.00

There were several different colour options but I went for the practical of a nude and white for neutral eyes and pretending I’m not tired. These swatched beautifully and I couldn’t wait to use them only problem was when I actually did. On the water line or the lid for that matter it resulted in not product transfer and no change in appearance which is a shame. Inexpensive but not worth picking up, pay a little bit more for something that is better quality.

P.S. Love lip crayon

Lip Gloss Crayon: £1.50

There were a number of colours but as sometimes lip crayons can be hit a miss, so if in doubt I’ll opt for a lighter neutral colour. I find lip crayons useful to slip in my bag for easy touch ups as they can’t really go wrong so I thought it would be a great idea to try one. As it can be seen from the swatch there is no colour pay off but I simply put that down to the colour I selected, it simply has a slight pink tint if you look hard enough and a load of glitter. I’m not keen on glitter lips especially for everyday so would only use it for a night time look, adding an additional layer of glitter between lectures can only look tacky and for a lip gloss stick it seems to only add glitter rather than a glossy finish. Unfortunately this is a no go as it feels so greesey on the lips, I even kissed my boyfriend when I had it on to see what he thought for the kissability test. He found it so greesey he was pulling faces and made me fetch him a make up wipe, it is not worth it. I don’t know whether to try the other colours or not as it is so hit and miss, have you tried any other of the lip gloss crayons if so what do you think? The lip gloss crayon I tried is light pink and has the code PS2652-01.

P.S. Love Blush Sticks

Blush Sticks (Coral & Pink): £1.50

I’d never used blush sticks before buying these two so it took a while to get the trick of applying these as its different to everything else. I picked up a beautiful bright pink and a coral type pink, which are beautiful and blend out effortlessly. They also stay on all day which is more a trait of cream blush rather than just these sticks themselves so its well worth having them in your collection. I think I do still prefer my powder blush but its well worth having a few cream products in your collection in your long days or nights when you want your make up to stay. If you want to try out to cream products but not sure what to make of them its not a bad to start off with the P.S Love range as they are pigmented, blendable and if you don’t like them its only £1.50 so you have nothing to loose really. Just one last think I suggest warming up before you use it so I simply pop it in my bra before I start doing my make up and then it applies perfectly. The blush sticks I tried was a bright pink (PS2996-01) and a coral pink (PS2996-00).

P.S. Love nails

Nail Polish: £1.00 £0.80

All of the nail varnishes are meant to retail for £1.00 but since December they’ve been priced at £0.80 which you cannot possibly go wrong with. Unfortunately I haven’t taken a snap of the nail varnish but this one is simply amazing, its a really good quality glitter polish in which great with two coats giving an amazing pay of and it looks great. It removes easily but it doesn’t peel off like the barry M glitter polishes, so swap inexpensive for even more inexpensive especially as glitter nails aren’t for everyday. I’ve tried a few other colours and am presently surprised with the quality of what I have tried so if you fancy one don’t hesitate to pick one up.

False Nails: £1.00

I picked up these false nails for 50p and couldn’t resist I’m planning to wear them this weekend when we go London Zoo for my Birthday. However I’ve brought countless set of nails in the pasts and I love them, they last a few days even more if you buy better glue and look amazing. Primark’s false nails are especially great for special nights out as they are so inexpensive and look absolutely amazing.

What have you tried from the P.S. Love range, what is worth trying and what isn’t? I’m impressed with some and not so with others but with the range been so inexpensive I don’t feel as though I’m wasted money.

The Bedtime TAG

So the other week I watched Fleur De Force and Talk Becky Talk do this TAG and thought it seemed like such a fun idea and that I would do it myself. So here we go . . .

primark fox pjs

1. What are you favourite pajamas?

I tend to swap around what PJs I love and during the day on lazy days I tend to chill in my boyfriend PJs with a vest top. For sleeping I tend to favour shorts PJs and my current favourite ones are Primark ones with cure little foxes on which you may of seen in my primark haul previously.

DSCF4562[1]

2. Current bedtime reading?

I have just started reading Irrationality by Stuart Sutherland it is one of those behavioural economics/smart thinking books which I find absolutely fascinating but as I’ve only just started it, here’s the blurb if you are curious.

Why do doctors, army generals, high-ranking government officials and other people in positions of power make bad decisions that cause harm to others? Why do prizes serve no useful function? Why are punishments so ineffective? Why is interviewing such an unsatisfactory method of selection?

Irrationality is a challenging and thought-provoking book that draws on statistical concepts, probability theory and a mass of intriguing research to expose the failings of human reasoning, judgement and intuition. The author explores the inconsistencies of human behaviour, and discovers why even the experts find it so hard to make rational and unbiased decisions.

PicMonkey Collage

3. What is on your bedside table?

Most importantly is my IKEA lamp so I don’t have to stumble across my room after turning off the light. All I want mainly with my bedside is the cross between practical and nice to look at, practical = box of tissues and pretty =photograph of me and my boyfriend. I always have some sort of candles on my bedside and I currently have two from primark, one pineapple and ginger the other sweet berry and patchouu which I am really enjoying. Another pointless but something I like is the empty boxes for a body shop candle and a Laura Ashley body butter I just think they look nice. Finally is my lotr mason jar with gandalf standing in it.

4. Favourite sleepy scent?

I love to burn a candle in the evening, although I don’t currently have a candle of this scent my favourite scent is vanilla as it is such a lovely warming scent. I seriously need to get some more vanilla candles but I’m trying to use up the ones I have at the moment.

5. What is your usual bedtime & wakeup time?

I usually aim to be in bed between 11 and 12, although when it is does vary but I no longer do the super late nights that I used to do. Wake up time on the other hand is variable although due to lectures and work ect. I tend to have earlyish start so even on days off I’m awake but 8:30 ish.

DSCF4563[1]

6. Top 3 bedtime products?

I usually do most of my skincare and everything else way earlier in the evening because if I didn’t do it after I got in I would never get it done. So before I go to bed I moisturise my face with Nivea Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream which is super moisturising although is sometimes a little too heavy. Next up is my Body Shop Lip Butter in Mango and it is amazing especially as its prevented my lips from drying it all really and it always stays next to my bag. And finally Assuie Leave in Conditioner, I don’t always use this like I said I do most of my stuff earlier in the day but sometimes I feel as though my hair needs a little TLC so I rub the leave in conditioner into my ends and then tie my hair up and in the morning my hair feels great.

normal_my-side-your-side-pillowcases
7. Your most common sleeping position?

I tend to lie on my side semi curled up but I don’t particularly have a set side though just depends on the night and how tired I am. If it takes a while to go to sleep I will always lie on me left side so I can leave my boyfriend to sleep in peace, this results in him thinking I take up most of the bed which commonly isn’t the case. He just likes to think I use most the bed, poor baby.

bedtimetag1
8. Any strange bed time routines?

I don’t think I have any strange bed time routine but the fact I have to have the wardrobe door closed apparently is according to my boyfriend, which isn’t a big deal. Well its not a big deal until he has to get out of bed and close it because his closer.
9. Are you big spoon or little spoon?

It depends really me and my boyfriend switch it up and it depends on our moods however, if I get cold in the night I will always roll over and spoon him to warm myself up.

So I hoped you enjoyed this tag and if you did I TAG all of you to do it too and I look forward to reading them.

Review: Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob

Rimmel lip liner exaggerate east end snob
The other day on impulse I brought a new lip liner, you may of already seen my excitement on twitter the other day, if you didn’t you can follow me (@gwenllianblog). It is the Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in East End Snob, if you want British youtubers you may already be aware of this lip liner with Amelia Liana and now Miss Budget Beauty singing its praises both as a liner and a lip colour. So the other day on a whim I thought I’d give it a go.
Rimmel lip liner exaggerate east end snob
Rimmel lip liner exaggerate east end snob

In essence its a muted pink type colour with brown undertones, achieving that much desired Kylie Jenner lip colour. I tend to suit the more brown toned lip colours opposed to the reds and oranges of the make up world so this proved to be a very good match. It’s highly pigmented, with a perfect matt finish the ideal nude type lip it can go from everyday to a night look and everything in between.

Rimmel lip liner exaggerate east end snob

It’s a simple plastic packaging which is so simple and you can wind it up, no sharpening in sight which is so simple especially for touch ups on the go. Although it doesn’t need many touch ups, the main touch ups that are needed is after food/drink, mainly drinking unless you use a straw or something but this is obvious with any lip product. It even passes the kiss test okay it passes the peck on the lips type kiss but I’m still impressed with its staying power.
Like all matte lip colours it can be fairly drying so I just make sure I wear lip butter or a real good lip balm before applying and then in the evening after wearing it all day but it isn’t uncomfortable drying. It works really well with a neutral eye or even something more dramatic, I love it the most paired with a beautiful pink eye made from my urban decay naked 3 palette. Although I’m not a huge fan of the over exaggerated lips, so basically its perfect for the Kylie Jenner look as it makes lips look fuller and absolutely gorgeous.

So is it worth the hype? Yes I absolutely love it, a perfect lip colour for anyone and it would go really well under most other lip colours of glosses as it is a fairly neutral base. I love this colour on its own so much though so I probably don’t do anything more with it than leaving it on its own or put a bit of clear lip gloss to make it pretty. Anyone know any lipsticks close to this colour if I wanted it in lipstick form.
Rimmel’s Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 063 East End Snob is available at Boots and Superdrug ect for £3.99.
Have you tried east end snob or do you want to try it? What are your favourite lip liners?

Primark Haul

haul 2

So just over week ago it I made a little trip to Primark with one of my friends, so were back to blogging 101 with a Primark Haul because we are all nosey and love Primark.

primark beauty

First up is a big bunch of make up to try out which I will be doing a blog post soon with reviews and swatches coming soon once I’ve worked out if any of these have names but I doubt it.  Under this category I purchased: egg shaped blending sponge, exfoliating facial cleansing wipes, eyeliner, blush sticks, nail varnish, eye shadow and a lip crayon so keep your eyes peeled.

primark fox pjs

I’ve eyed up these adorable Fox PJ’s a few times and I think these are simply adorable with the cutest fox faces on them. They are also great for any time of year and uber comfy, the only thing I wish is that the legs were looser; it’s really weird tight legs and baggy elsewhere.

haul 4

I’m forever looking to expand my smart casual wardrobe and this lovely dusty/muted pink creamy coloured Sheer Shirt, I love these and they are fairly cheap so how can I say no. Due to the sheer nature of the shirt I made sure I picked an appropriate cami to go underneath at at £1.80 you can’t really go wrong with it.

haul 1

Finally to go with the shirt I picked out the perfectly matching necklace for a bargain £4.00, I’m not one for statement necklaces but with Primarks prices there isn’t a bad time to experiment really. Then I just picked up a few candles at £0.80 each I can just see if I like the scents.

What bargains have you picked up recently? What are your current Primark faves?

Lots of Love
