The Body Shop Sales Haul

Body Shop Sales Haul

The other weekend I was in bed ill with a sinus infection when I got a text from The Body Shop sharing the fact the 40% code was out getting you 40% off everything including sale items. Although I love The Body Shop I always try to save money and stock up when this deal/code is about as the saving are insane and I like to pick up a mix of items. I don’t think the sale is still on, as it has taken me a while to photograph and get the post up along with working around what I had already planned. I’m always impressed with The Body Shop, I ordered on Sunday 2nd April and the box arrived on my desk Tuesday 4th. Just emphasising my laziness in taking a week to get this up, still its nice to share my goodies.

April 2017 Sales Hail - Body Shop

I’ve paired these into what I have to say is fairly obvious pairings, first up is one of my favourite scents simply because it is so refreshing the Fuji Green Tea. As when you love any scent you have to get the shower gel, although nothing special I do love the scents they offer and always pick them up when on offer. I am so excited to use the Fuji Green Tea Shower Gel (£6.00 £3.50 £2.10), in the mornings. Then also from the Green Tea range I decided I wanted to try the Fuji Green Tea Body Sorbet (£8.50 £4.50 £2.70), I’ve never tried the Body Sorbets but they always feel cool and refreshing perfect for the summer.

In all my years of using the Body Shop I have always smelt but never used the peach range I thought it was time to change this, obviously starting again with the strong staple of Vineyard Peach Shower Gel (£5.00 £3.50 £2.10). Then I also picked up, what I am counting as an essential as I haven’t had a body scrub in a few months but I have a good feeling about the Vineyard Peah Body Scrub (£15.00 £7.50 £4.50). It smells so tasty.

The Body Shope Blueberry Body Butter & Camomile Cleansing Butter

Every sale I seem to pick up the Blueberry Body Butter (£15.00 £7.50 £4.50), I have one on the go right now but its my favourite scent so I feel like I might as well always have a back up available to me. Finally my last item, was full price before the 40% discount. However, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter (£10.00 £6.00), and its about time I tried a cleansing balm/butter so I will be sure to post a review shortly.

If all items were the full retail price it would of cost me a whopping £59.50, if it was just sale price with one full price item it would have been £36.50 but instead it only cost £21.90. That’s roughly £3.65 a product and a saving of 63% which I cannot complain about. I seriously recommend you sign up to the newsletter so you are notified when these codes are about as the savings are insane and happen a few times a year. What do you love from The Body Shop let me know in the comments.

Empties #16

So I’m back and what is a better way to do it than with the good ol faithful empties post, the bag was just getting in the way so it seemed like the right sort of time to do a new post. So what have I used up in the past few months.

The Crème Shop Drink Up, Skin! Sheet Masks: In case you missed my review on these masks, I love these masks, so hydrating and fun. Would I repurchase: definitely!

Boots Simply Sensitive Gentle Micellar Water: Who doesn’t love a good micellar water, the lazy girls dream product. This was gentle and refreshing, I really enjoyed using it you can find my full review for it here . Would I repurchase: yes.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Cleansing Lotion and Facial Toner: These appear up in a few empties posts, I love these for removing makeup and simple skincare. I always repurchase these time after time, as they are great to have as part of an affordable skincare routine. Would I repurchase: yes.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer: Just another empties with another wake me up concealer, a great brightening concealer. Would I repurchase: yes.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: I switched out my ol faithful wake me up concealer for the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and I have to say I don’t know why I stopped using it while the wake me up mainly brightens the lasting perfection concealer hides everything. Would I repurchase: yes.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Super-Blur Imperfections Eraser: When I swatched this in Boots and was amazed, then when I ended up actually using it this actually sucked. On top of that it ended up being done so quickly it’s insane, so this was a complete dub another soap and glory makeup item I am unimpressed with. Would I repurchase: definitely not.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob: This is my all-time favourite lip liner, a perfect your lips but better colour I always have one on hand and it’s the only lip product I’ve ever repurchased. You can see it on with swatches in my review here. Would I repurchase: always.

The Body Shop Mango Body Scrub: We all love a body scrub and with a sugar scrub texture it definitely scrubs and clears up skin cells well but I have to say the scent is underwhelming. Unlike other Body Shop scents it is barely there and I don’t expect this from their products, so maybe pick up one of their other ones. Would I repurchase: Unlikely.

The Body Shop Blueberry Shower Gel: who doesn’t love a nice smelling shower gel? This is still from my birthday goodies in March, I’ve just got to wait until Christmas to stock up on more body shop products. Would I repurchase: yes.

Nivea Crème Coconut Shower Cream: I’m not sure there is ever much to say about a shower gel but this one smells amazing and is a nice change. Would I repurchase: why not.

 empties-the-skin-system-cocoa-body-butter

The Skin Systems Cocoa Body Butter: this was picked up on a whim in Asda when I saw it was super cheap on offer and im so glad I did. It’s thick and creamy but soaks in quickly and I love the smell of cocoa butter, a pleasant sent that’s not too over powering. Would I repurchase: definitely.

So that’s everything and into the recycling they go, never forget to recycle. So have you guys used or tried anything good recently let me know in the comments I love to try new things.

Empties #15

Empties #15 ft body shop, boots essentials, soap and glory

Two days after I photographed, edited and schedules Empties #14, I had three empties sat their again. How on earth did I manage this? I feel as though I need to plan my posts better.

Empties #15 ft l'oreal paris and barry m

Barry M Cor Balmy in Adam and Eve: I love a good lip balm and this was one of them, its lovely sweet scent that takes me back to childhood and no tint means it’s a perfect to keep in my handbag and use throughout the day. Would I repurchase: probably.

L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation in Rosy Ivory: I feel as though I’ve mentioned this a few times but this has to be my favourite foundation, I use it near enough daily. Buildable coverage, diverse range of colours and comfortable to wear. Would I repurchase: yes.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint in Kiss Me Quick: This nail polish has appeared in the odd favourite, a beautiful pastel pink which can be worn throughout the year. Another bonus for me is that it really does dry quickly, as I am so impatient. Would I repurchase: try and stop me.

Empties #15 ft boots essentials, soap and glory & nivea

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer: I feel like this appears in every other empties post, I love this and use it daily, I cannot get enough of it. Would I repurchase: yes

Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Peel and Face Mask: I did a full review of this way back when which you can see here. I’ve loved using this mask and my skin feels so good after using it, I just need to make sure I remember to use it more often. Would I repurchase: probably.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Wash: I love cucumber scents and I love this the scent of this face wash, super fresh. Although I cannot say this face wash does much in terms of leaving clean or cleansing but paired with the P.S Love Facial Cleansing Pad (LINK) it works wonders. Would I repurchase: undetermined, there’s better out there.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Cream Cleanser and Facial Toner: These have been in empties and skincare routines a few times, a really affordable way to add steps to your skincare routine and start to improve your skin condition. Would I like to repurchase: as always.

Empties #15 bath and body - body shop & treacle moon

Treacle Moon Marshmallow Hearts Bath and Shower Gel: THIS SMELLS AMAZING, super sweet and not too food scented. I loved using this on weekends away as well as at home, it isn’t great for the bath but perfect as a shower gel. Would I repurchase: yes.

The Body Shop Mango Shower Gel: I usually love the body shop shower gel but this one was slightly lack lustre. The scent just wasn’t there, and I feel as though that is most of the point. Would I repurchase: no.

The Body Shop Love Ect. Body Lotion: I’ve had this forever and finally got round to using the last little bit, the body shop have since discontinued this scent but it’s a lovely lotion. Would I repurchase: I wish I could.

The Body Shop Mango Body Butter: A small body butter which is left over from one of my Christmas presents, I love this scent sweet, fruity and summery. I love it and it’s not as thick as as some of the other body butters so works easily into the skin. Would I repurchase: yes.

The Body Shop Passion Fruit Body Butter: Every few empties I have a body shop body butter, this time it’s the turn of passion fruit again. A perfect summer scent and essential for tackling dry skin, what would I do without it. Would I repurchase: yes.

So that is another empties over and done with, let me know if you are still interested in seeing them or not. I like seeing empties and mini reviews but often it’s a pain keeping used up products so let me know what you think.

Empties #14

I thought I would space out my empties and ended up with way too much crap building up, hopefully I will eventually find a balance some day

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in 001 Flush of Pearl: Finally finished this, and the lack of use was simply down to the fact I’m useless at remembering to use it on at the right time. This was great to adding a little bit of dimension to the skin and a subtle highlight, adding a lot to a simple makeup look. In future though I may pick one with slightly more colour to it. Would I repurchase: possibly.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer: I feel as though this has been in more than enough empties now, I think it is my most repurchased concealer it’s amazing. Would I repurchase: I already have.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation in 010 Light Porcelain: This has been featured in a previous empties, and I have enjoyed match perfection as a foundation as it offers a good level of coverage. However I have since found foundations I prefer so I may not repurchase it again.

BareMinerals Prime Time Original Primer: I love this primer, I used it sparingly the past few months as I didn’t want it to be finished. It just leaves my face so smooth and ready for makeup, as well as helping it last all day. Would I repurchase: highly likely.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Cleansing Lotion and Toner: I’ve paired these together as it doesn’t make sense not to, I’ve already repurchased these as I love it and it’s really helped me stick to a routine as well as improve my skin. I use them both every morning and evening, leaving my skin clean and clear. Would I repurchase: yes!

Boots Botantics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution All Bright: I love to try out different cleansing waters and this was no exception. If you want to know more about it, check out my full review here. Would I repurchase: possibly.

Boots Essentials Refreshing Cucumber Cleansing Wipes: I’m not a huge makeup wipe user but they are great for using as a pre-cleanse or as a last resort. These are really nice wipes they smell and feel really refreshing and I feel like they go a good job at removing makeup. Would I repurchase: yes.

Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash: This has been mentioned several times on my body, it was an essential part of my morning skincare routine. Deeply cleansing and clearing, but it doesn’t strip your face of moisture, well worth trying if you have dry or sensitive skin. Would I repurchase: yes

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Butter: I’ve mentioned many times how much I love the scent of the Green Tea range so I won’t go on about the amazing scent. This was thinner than some of the other body butters I have tried, so not as deeply hydrating but it definitely soaked into the skin quicker so it really depends what you are after. Would I repurchase: highly likely.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub: I love a good body scrub and this one was lovely, a deep but gentle scrub. It isn’t as gritty as some of the others so feels great on wherever you use it. Would I repurchase: definitely.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Wash: I feel as though there is not a huge amount to say about a body wash, but this was lovely and refreshing in the morning. Would I repurchase: yes.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Sachet: Sometimes I just love a hair mask and I really enjoyed this Aussie one, opposed to leaving it for 3 minutes I left it longer. I like massage the mask into the ends of my hair clip it up and use a face mask or chill for 10/20 minutes and my hair feels so nice. Would I repurchase: yes.

TRESemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo: I rarely use dry shampoo, so it’s taken me forever to use this one up but you can read my review of it here (LINK). Would I repurchase: yes.

V05 Revive Me Daily Shampoo and Conditioner: I used these as my post swim shampoo and conditioner at the gym, so although they haven’t left my hair silky smooth and I use a hair oil too, But it really cleans out the chlorine. The V05 range smells nice too, which is always a plus with shampoo and conditioner. Would I repurchase: meh, maybe.

Superdrug My Little Star Baby Shampoo: I use baby shampoo to clean my makeup brushes, and I’ve found the superdrug one is identical to J&J only cheaper. It is gentle on the brushes but leaves them nice and clean again cleaning off all the crap. Would I repurchase: yes.

I hope you enjoyed this round of empties, I have a whole section dedicate them so if you are just nosy or want to read some mini reviews look in the tabs above or click the link here to see the previous 13 empties. What products are you loving at the moment? What do you always repurchase?

May Favourites

Where the hell has this year gone? It’s the end of May already and its almost summer, I just cannot get over it but I have been getting into the summer spirit and cannot wait to try to make the most of those long days.

May Favouritrs ft body shop, kiko, l'oreal paris

So this month I will start with quite a few makeup favourite as I have been mixing it up a little, not in the look but with the products I’ve been using. As its started to warm up I’ve ditched my blush and went for a bronzer with the BareMinerals Warmth, I didn’t get on with it at first but now I absolutely love it. It just adds definition and colour back into my face and is so simple to use.may favourites ft kiko, ysl, l'oreal paris & bareminerals

On to eye and this first product I won’t go on about is much as it was featured in a review earlier in the month but day after day I have been reaching for the Kiko Milano Eyeshadow in 130  Satin Beige Cream, I love it. Whether as a blending shade, brow highlight or all over the lid it’s so versatile it’s a new makeup staple. Keeping it simple I’m still loving just simple makeup with black eyeliner, and my go to of May has been the L’Oreal Paris So Couture Super Liner. It’s a felt tip eyeliner which is a deep black, and easy to control to create the desired look.

The final makeup item is a constant favourite but I feel like I should mention it again, the YSL Volupte Sheer Candy in Lush Coconut. It may not add much in terms of colour but it adds a beautiful gloss/shine to the lips without being glossy and sticky, perfect on its own or layered with other products. I’m back on my pastel nail kick from last year and with another Barry M polish as well Barry M Hi-Shine Polish in Sugar Apple. It’s somewhat of a mint shade but not, it’s hard to explain yet I just love how fun and fresh it looks.

may favourites ft body shop & barry m

My last two products are to help combat dry skin, I get horrible dry cracked skin on my elbows etc. so to treat this I use the unsung hero of Sudocream. It heals dry skin and put it on any hormonal breakouts it really brings them down almost immediately, highly recommend you keep this in the cupboard. Finally to then soften and moisture the treated skin I whip out The Body Shop Mango Body Butter, super summery and it feels great on the skin but what else were you expecting all body shop body butters rock.

So what have your being loving this month? And what exciting things are you doing this summer?

DIY Pamper Jar Inspiration

So today I thought I would do a quick post about a small gift I did for I did for one of my best friends from university. I’ve seen these jars all over the place and thought I would do it myself, this isn’t a DIY per say but this is what I filled it with and how I wrapped it all up.

DIY Pamper Jar - Kilner Jar

I was so long to find this pink Kilner jar on offer, and I built it all up around this jar. It’s a really great size and I knew she’d find a use for it in the future whether within her passion for baking or for general storage.

The next thing was to fill it up, wrapping each thing in cute stared tissue paper so everything that is in there will be a surprise. I started off with two Soap and Glory travel sized items, a body scrub and the old favorite righteous butter. A perfect pairing for travel or just to try. I then went for a load of little treats from a Foot Pack, Aussie hair mask and a selection of face masks. Finally to finish off the jar, I packed in 3 nail polishes two beautiful shades of purple and a glitter top coat. All small items that I knew she’d love and appreciate and I think that’s the joy of the pamper or treat jars that you can do whatever you want with them.

I found the cute star tissue paper in the card factory and this pink and white bag in the pound shop. I just feel like they really finish the whole gift off, it looked so cute and she loved the gift.

So have you ever made up one of these jars, what would you put in it and would you make this for a friend?

Empties #13

I’m trying to work out if my empties are often too long as I wait until I feel as though I have enough and then I ramble. So what do you think is best my current method or switching to monthly empties? Let me know in the comments as I am still a little torn about monthly empties.

Mark Hill De-Frizz Shine and Protect Spray: I’ve had this for ages and only just got round to using it, a heat protecting shine spray which smells great although I just love the Mark Hill products smell. Unfortunately they’ve discontinued this product but it doesn’t compare to my TRESemme heat defence spray also they spray went half way through and I had to move it to a different bottle. Would I repurchase: discontinued.

TRESemme Heat Defence Spray: On the topic of the TRESemme heat defence spay I have finished another one, I love this spray it last forever and helps keep my hair healthy and happy. Highly recommended. Would I Repurchase: always.

The Body Shop Blueberry Body Butter: I love the body shop body butters and the blueberry is no exception, it’s appeared in a few favourites and I am obsessed with this scent. Would I repurchase: yes.

Bath and Body Works Coconut and Lime Verbena (Body Lotion): My dad picked this up in the hotel when in American, and this has linked in my work desk draw since to keep my hands hydrated. Also I am so in love with the smell coconut and citrus is amazing and I’ve had loads of people asking what I’ve been using. Sadly we can’t get bath and body works stuff in the UK and my dad is only in America every 2/3 years with work.

Dove Go Fresh Revive Body Wash in Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena: I adore the Dove Deodorant with this scent and I couldn’t resist getting the shower gel, its sweet and fruity and so good. I also think its great combined with the deodorant as you’re not overpowered with multiple scents that don’t mix. Would I repurchase: yes.

Dolly Mixture Shower Crème in Rhubarb and Custard: It’s the month of shower gels or something, only because I don’t usually end up with two. Although it’s because I got two excited and used this and the Dove one simultaneously. As you know this appeared in my December Favourites and I could not get enough of it. Would I repurchase: yes for sure.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation in 010 Light Porcelain: I have really enjoyed this foundation, lovely medium coverage and Rimmel London Formulas and tone tend to suit my skin. I also love have Rimmel do the super pale shades so I don’t have to worry about miss matching or it oxidising too much. Would I repurchase: yes.

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer: I’m not going to bother much with this, it turns up in most empties. Love it end of. Would I repurchase: always.

No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Water: I reviewed this back in January and absolutely loved it, you can read the full review here. It smells amazing but is on the slightly pricer size of high street cleansing waters. I love the pump packaging so I think I’m going to refil it after cleansing it with a different cleansing water. Would I repurchase: maybe.

Cuticura clean and fresh and cherry blossom hand gel (empties #14)

Cuticura Crisp and Fresh Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel: I pretty much have hand gel everywhere and this bigger one is from my work desk, I buy the bigger ones for work so I don’t have to buy as often and the convenient size matters less. Would I repurchase: yes.

Cuticura Cherry Blossom Hand Gel (Primark Exclusive): I love the Primark exclusive scents for the hand gels and they are inexpensive too, this was sweet and floral. Plus the packaging is so pretty, highly recommend. Would I repurchase: definitely.

So that’s all my junk for this time, actually some nice variation. If you enjoy empties, then check out my previous empties here, or look in the bar up the top.

Lets Talk About Feet

pamper-your-feet-this-summer-1Feet, something that just sit there and often thought of as gross but we ought to give them a little bit of TLC all the time and not just in the summer when we get them out. So I thought it was time to do a little post on giving your feet a little TLC and love that they need.

exfoliate

Before you to anything to treat your feet you need to get rid of the dry and dead skin, here you have a number of options but often fine and course works best here. There’s the trust old fashioned way, soaking the feet and using a pumice stone it really does work despite the little bit of elbow greasy that’s needed. I feel as though the foot exfoliators are best, as they are properly coarse, sand-like, this just helps clean it up easier. Generally body exfoliator can worse but you’ll want something more like Soap and Glory’s Sugar Crush rather than the Body Shop Body Scrubs.

moisturise

We moisturise our face and our bodies but often forget out feet, creating unsightly cracked heels and dry feet. We are all aware of the inconvenience on waiting for moisturiser to soak in so there are a number of options as well as a variety of great products. There are a number of options here, one is a very simple option try using the foot packs which come in a number of varieties and you can buy them at pound shops, home bargains and body care. The foot packs I have mentioned before and use them regularly, they are essentially sock shaped moisturising bags. Just leave them on for twenty minutes at least, but with these you can easily get on with your day. There are also plenty of special foot moisturisers, but you can easily recreate the foot packs in a more effective way with other products. Body Butters, Vaseline, Bepanthen and Sudocream are create deep moisturisers and great for repairing feet, either use them and keep your feet out the way or lather up your feet before bed put on a fresh pair of socks and let the work happen with you sleep, just thoroughly wash your socks thoroughly more than that.

home pedicure

Although this builds up from the ‘exfoliate’ and ‘moisturise’ sections, why not commit to an at home pedicure every so often and give your feet the proper care and attention. An at home pedicure is only something I have started trying recently and it is a bit trial and error to find something that works for you time wise and product wise as we all react differently to different products, so maybe once I’ve worked it out properly I’ll create a DIY pedicure post but for now I’ve found a good guide by Cosmopolitan which isn’t a bad place to start if you want to try yourself.

sunscreen

Although it may not seem relevant at this time of year if sunscreen is always important, especially if your feet are out. With heels and pumps, the tops of your feet are often out so you should always use some to protect your feet from UV rays which are present all year. Also most importantly for summer, do not forget your feet, burnt feet hurts and you can get super unflattering tan lines with shoes. This is something that most people ought to do but we don’t seem to especially in the colder months when we really don’t think about using sun protection as much as we should.

insoles & sensible shoes

One big part of looking after your feet is thinking about footwear, invest in comfortable, supporting footwear. Just because they are ‘cute’ doesn’t mean they are good for your feet, so fancy, high and painful footwear leave for ‘sitting’ events. Also we all love cheap footwear but they aren’t always best for your feet investing in insoles can turn cheap shoes into something that adds a lot of support that is lacked in the budget shoes. This isn’t a must do but think about investing, a good quality pair of boots from M&S or Clarks or something, will not only last years but will do wonders for your feet.

So hopefully these hits and tips were useful, as we often forget about our feet which do so much for us. If you have any good foot care products or any hints and tips to help you look after your feet leave them in the comments below.

What I Got For Christmas 2015

what i got for xmas

Ah Christmas is over for another year, we’ve all eaten too much and drink our fair share and we can take a sigh of relief before New Year’s celebrations begin. I hope you all had a lovely day with family or friends. So here is a snapshot of what I got for Christmas, I got a lot of money from people such as grandparents and extended family so I brought some stuff in the sales today. Also I’m going to visit my boyfriend tomorrow so will be getting those presents the so will be posting those presents on Instagram. So here is just a few bits of what I got for xmas.

tomtom start 20

As you get older sometime Christmas becomes more about practicality than excitement and this is where my TomTom Start 20 WE 4.3” SatNav. Since getting my car in July I’ve being using my mums, extremely outdated, never updated satnav and getting my own seemed like a good idea. So my loving parents brought be the TomTom Start 20, easy to use with Western Europe and free updates for life I’m set. Hopefully I’ll never get lost again.

My best friend brought me The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Festive favourites Gift set, I love the green tea set its so fresh. Cannot wait to use this for my morning showers to wake me up before work and the mini body butter will come in handy when travelling. Also from friends I also received the New Look Pin Stud Duffle bag, I’ve needed a new bag for a while and this is a perfect casual bag to suit my needs. I cannot wait to start moving my crap over into it.

New Look Pin Stud Duffle Bag

This year as you know I started my first ever proper job as a graduate, the head of our department got us all a £10 Next Voucher which is so nice as it was out of his own pocket and it definitely came in handy with the sales, Next if great for work wear. Other gift cards I received was £10 for Boots, and £15 for Debenhams.

stocking stuffers ft sally hansen & forrero rocher

Then comes a random array of stocking stuffers featuring a Grand Ferrero Rocher and a Gruffalo Chocolate Lolly which are just a few of the tasty chocolate treats I received, the others are currently on the coffee table to share around. I also got a few nails bits in my stocking this year the really cute and festive Sally Hansen Salon Effect Real Nail Polish Strips in Snow Bunny which I cannot wait to attempt to try out. As well as two nail polishes, Maybelline New York Nail Polishes 649 and Maybelline New York Nail Polish in 447, which is a base coat and a glittery dark polish which will be great for new year. I also got a few bottles for Rose and one bottle of Malibu all in various states of being drunk in the kitchen.

So that’s what I got for Christmas this year, not the most exciting but I tend to buy what I want throughout the year. Also as it turns to money and gift cards which are harder to show. I’ll share what I got from my boyfriend and his family on Instagram and maybe on here if I pick up bonus sales stuff in January. Still Christmas is more about spending time with loved ones. Hopefully you’ve all had a great Christmas however you celebrate and enjoy the last days of 2015.

Empties #10

Empties #10

Just after I’ve written and empties I seem to then finish everything so I always attempt to space these out somewhat. I don’t know if I should switch to doing these monthly or not but between monthly favourites, collective monthly hauls and then monthly empties I feel like my blog would just feel too repetitive. So just let me know in the comments if I should make this a monthly thing or just make it this semi regular more bi-monthly occurrence.

mkeup empties ft bourjois, collection

L’Oreal True Match Foundation in Rosy Ivory (Sample Size): I’ve owned this in the past and love having the sample size, which lasts ages by the way. I loved it over the summer for travelling, used it for graduation and in between and think this will definitely will be the next foundation I repurchase. Would I repurchase: sure.

Bourjois Paris 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory: This was a little bit of a dud, the colour was way too dark despite being ivory and the lightest shade and on its own it can tend to oxidise. Yet the coverage was great so if it’s the right colour it’s probably a great CC cream with a good level of evening the skin tone out. I’ve used it up by using it mixed with other foundations or bb creams especially during the summer and in varying amounts to use it up and make the colour up to match my more tanned colour especially in the summer as even tanned this didn’t match me. Would I repurchase: nope.

Collection Pressed Powder in Ivory: This is my favourite pressed powder ever and I rarely bother to buy anything else, I’m never oily so I cannot comment on its oil control but it thoroughly sets your makeup in place and is actually pale enough. It is fairly finely milled especially for the price point but it doesn’t look cakey. Would I repurchase: always.

P.S Love Egg Shaped Sponge: The sponge is starting to tear and just doesn’t seem to be cleaning properly so it’s time to swap it out again, this has transformed my makeup routine and I absolutely love using it. I usually end up chucking this every three months for a new one but at £1.50 a time it’s what £6.00 a year. Would I repurchase: yes.

skincare empties ft teco & garnier

Superdrug Tea Tree Skincare Lemon Facial Wash: Another item which has been in empties before as well as in the odd routine. So I won’t say much it is just a really nice refreshing face wash, great to use in the mornings. Would I repurchase: yes.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (‘Handbag Sized’) & Regular Size: After loving the Garnier Miceller Water I thought I would buy the handbag size to take with me on trips and travels, so I could get makeup off properly . I thought this would be great as you could refill it but as it turns out the top doesn’t come off which sucks. This would be great for going away for longer than a week especially as it lasts way longer than that and it’s a great easy to use product. This has lasted me absolutely months well worth it. Would I repurchase: yes.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: This has lasted me absolutely months, although I haven’t repurchased it yet instead buying the L’Oreal Micellar Water because I got it with discount vouchers. I love Micellar Waters in general as they take off your makeup thoroughly and I’m super lazy, I use it not only to take off my makeup but as a quick pre-makeup cleanse. Would I repurchase: yes.

Tea Tree and Peppermint Deep Moisturising Hand Pack: As it starts to get colder my hands start to need more moisturising as sometimes they crack, so sometimes they need some extra TLC. Like foot packs which I have talked about before these have moisturiser within like plastic gloves and they are perfect for a bit of pampering but you can still do stuff while wearing them like a touch of blogging or changing the channel on the TV. Would I repurchase: yes.

Macadamia Oil Extract Foot Pack: I’ve had many foot packs in the past so just look back in my empties if you want to know more, they rock that’s all. Would I repurchase: yes.

Laura Ashley Imperial Bloom Body Butter: Thick, creamy and delightfully floral scent and it isn’t overly heavy but it leaves the skin feeling hydrated and soft. The scent lasts all day too but not in an overpowering way, the main issues is that this was a Christmas gift and isn’t readily available but I think I will try other Laura Ashley Body Butter as the formula is so nice. Would I repurchase: yes, if I can find it.

hair empties ft argan oil & batiste

Batise Original Dry Shampoo (Travel Sized): So I brought this over the summer to take on holiday with me, but it’s taken me forever to use as I rarely use dry shampoo. I am starting to think I should switch to only buying travel sized dry shampoos so they take up less space. I definitely think batiste is my favourite dry shampoo although I like the original scent I definitely prefer some of the others like cherry and blush. Would I repurchase: yes probably.

Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner: I initially reviewed this way back at the start of my blog way back in the day, and I found it so-so and it spent most of its time sat the bathroom cupboard. But I’ve recently been using it after swimming and it’s really helped my hair stay in good condition. Would I repurchase: undecided.

Theraputics Renergise Shampoo and Renew Conditioner: These are little hotel bottles which I picked up to take swimming with me, really fresh and a good lather. I don’t think I would bother with trying to find these to buy I think I would use them again.

tesco cotton pads, ps love hand gel

Ghost Girl Eau De Toilette (sample): I received this lovely sample in the post, and it is absolutely delectable with notes of pear and pomegranate it’s a sweet fruity scent which I adore. I loved having the sample in my bag for the odd touch up and to freshen up throughout the day. The only thing I am not sure about is the packaging which looks cute but is slightly teeny if I dare say, but it smells too good I may crack. Would I purchase: yes.

P.S. Love Anti-Bac Hand Gel: This hand gel costs amazing and it costs £0.60, best impulse buy ever. Always keep an eye on the till stuff at Primark as this is impulsive and useful. Would I repurchase: yes.

Tesco Everyday Value 80 Cotton Wool Pads: So-So not great, but not awful they did the job and were good when I needed cotton wool pads tended to use them for polish removal. Would I repurchase: probably if I needed them.
