February Favourites

february-favourites

So today is the last day of February and that means its February favourites time, let’s see what I have been loving this month.

Although my favourite shampoo and conditioner will always be the TRESemme Salon Silk, I’ve currently been enjoying the Alberto Balsam Coconut & Lychee Shampoo and Conditioner they smell amazing. These live in my swim bag, and I love using them on a Sunday morning after swimming my 2k, it leaves my hair clean and smelling great.

It’s been a moth of rediscovery rather than new ones, after a period of dry skin recently I repurchased the Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer. If you’ve followed my blog for any period of time you know this is one of my go-to all-time favourite products that ensure my makeup sits well and it sinks in quickly so it makes makeup easily. Why did I go a few months without it? Maybe you never appreciate something until its gone.

I am always wary to not go on and on about products on my blog, but when you trial something for review you can often end up falling in love with a product. This month I have been loving the Revlon All-in-One Ultimate Mascara, I posted the review last Tuesday and really fell in love with it this month, it truly is an all in one mascara. However, if you want more than my word for it you can read my in-depth review here.

In the December sales I picked up a great bargain with a Ted Baker set half price and I am in love with the body spray I have been wearing this every day. The Ted Baker Pink Body Spray is described as “Sparkling fruity grapefruit, mandarin and mango are teamed with subtle floral notes of neroli and jasmine, while the base of patchouli, sandalwood and musk completes the scent.”, but all I know is that it smells amazing. It’s safe to say me and the women I work with are currently obsessed with it.

What have you been loving this month let me know in the comments.

Empties #14

I thought I would space out my empties and ended up with way too much crap building up, hopefully I will eventually find a balance some day

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in 001 Flush of Pearl: Finally finished this, and the lack of use was simply down to the fact I’m useless at remembering to use it on at the right time. This was great to adding a little bit of dimension to the skin and a subtle highlight, adding a lot to a simple makeup look. In future though I may pick one with slightly more colour to it. Would I repurchase: possibly.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer: I feel as though this has been in more than enough empties now, I think it is my most repurchased concealer it’s amazing. Would I repurchase: I already have.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation in 010 Light Porcelain: This has been featured in a previous empties, and I have enjoyed match perfection as a foundation as it offers a good level of coverage. However I have since found foundations I prefer so I may not repurchase it again.

BareMinerals Prime Time Original Primer: I love this primer, I used it sparingly the past few months as I didn’t want it to be finished. It just leaves my face so smooth and ready for makeup, as well as helping it last all day. Would I repurchase: highly likely.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Cleansing Lotion and Toner: I’ve paired these together as it doesn’t make sense not to, I’ve already repurchased these as I love it and it’s really helped me stick to a routine as well as improve my skin. I use them both every morning and evening, leaving my skin clean and clear. Would I repurchase: yes!

Boots Botantics Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution All Bright: I love to try out different cleansing waters and this was no exception. If you want to know more about it, check out my full review here. Would I repurchase: possibly.

Boots Essentials Refreshing Cucumber Cleansing Wipes: I’m not a huge makeup wipe user but they are great for using as a pre-cleanse or as a last resort. These are really nice wipes they smell and feel really refreshing and I feel like they go a good job at removing makeup. Would I repurchase: yes.

Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash: This has been mentioned several times on my body, it was an essential part of my morning skincare routine. Deeply cleansing and clearing, but it doesn’t strip your face of moisture, well worth trying if you have dry or sensitive skin. Would I repurchase: yes

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Butter: I’ve mentioned many times how much I love the scent of the Green Tea range so I won’t go on about the amazing scent. This was thinner than some of the other body butters I have tried, so not as deeply hydrating but it definitely soaked into the skin quicker so it really depends what you are after. Would I repurchase: highly likely.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub: I love a good body scrub and this one was lovely, a deep but gentle scrub. It isn’t as gritty as some of the others so feels great on wherever you use it. Would I repurchase: definitely.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Wash: I feel as though there is not a huge amount to say about a body wash, but this was lovely and refreshing in the morning. Would I repurchase: yes.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Sachet: Sometimes I just love a hair mask and I really enjoyed this Aussie one, opposed to leaving it for 3 minutes I left it longer. I like massage the mask into the ends of my hair clip it up and use a face mask or chill for 10/20 minutes and my hair feels so nice. Would I repurchase: yes.

TRESemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo: I rarely use dry shampoo, so it’s taken me forever to use this one up but you can read my review of it here (LINK). Would I repurchase: yes.

V05 Revive Me Daily Shampoo and Conditioner: I used these as my post swim shampoo and conditioner at the gym, so although they haven’t left my hair silky smooth and I use a hair oil too, But it really cleans out the chlorine. The V05 range smells nice too, which is always a plus with shampoo and conditioner. Would I repurchase: meh, maybe.

Superdrug My Little Star Baby Shampoo: I use baby shampoo to clean my makeup brushes, and I’ve found the superdrug one is identical to J&J only cheaper. It is gentle on the brushes but leaves them nice and clean again cleaning off all the crap. Would I repurchase: yes.

I hope you enjoyed this round of empties, I have a whole section dedicate them so if you are just nosy or want to read some mini reviews look in the tabs above or click the link here to see the previous 13 empties. What products are you loving at the moment? What do you always repurchase?

Small May Collective Haul

I’ve picked up a few bits and pieces this month and I thought I would share them, with you now. Earlier in the month I posted a fashion haul and you can check that out here. I placed a New Look order yesterday, and I am going shopping this weekend so expect more hauls coming in June I’ve saved up and I am #feelingspendy.  For now it is all budget friendly essentials.

Morocian Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

First up I picked up some shampoo and conditioner from Poundland, at home I use TRESemme in the huge bottles so for the gym/swimming I like to try out some different and smaller shampoos. I love a lot of the oil infused shampoo and conditioner and managed to find the matching set so picked up the Macadamia Oil Extract Shampoo & Conditioner, fingers crossed this works well.

Tesco Everyday Value Cotton Wool Pads and Tesco Nail Varnish Remover

Sometimes it’s easiest to pig up bits and pieces as you are doing your weekly shop which is why the next two essential bits are from Tesco. I was running low on nail polish remover and find that the Tesco Beauty Nail Polish Remover is one of the best, really affordable and it gets off polish really easily. I’m not overly fussy over cotton pads, those soft under baby are often softer but I’m happy to use the cheap ranges, as I needed some desperately and picked up the Tesco Everyday Value Cotton Wool Pads.

Boots Essentials Cleanser, Toner and Exfolitating Sponge

Obviously it is impossible not to buy something at Boots when you go in, thankfully I managed to just buy essentials and although I had not run out at the time of purchase with 3 for £3.00, in addition to getting 100 bonus points I might as buy at this point. So I once again repurchase the Boots Essentials Cucumber Cream Cleanser and Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Toner, I love these they are super affordable and great for makeup removal and general skincare. The third item I picked up was the Boots Essentials Exfoliating Facial Sponge, which I am curious to try out as part of my skincare routine.

Have you picked up anything good recently? Let me know in the comments below, and if there are good things to keep my eye out for.

What’s In My Shower

whats in my shower

Something a little bit random today, but I kinda love these posts/videos as I am just so damn nosy also I like knowing what products people like using day to day. I’ve done one of these before when I was back at university which you can check out here .

Tresemme salon silk

So most of the time simply due to the size my shampoo and conditioner live in my bathroom cabinet, and I get away with washing my hair twice a week as it doesn’t get greasy as such and this is the best way to keep it happy and healthy. If you’ve read my blog for a while my shampoo and conditioner will not come as a surprise it’s the TRESemme Salon Silk Shampoo and Conditioner, my ultimate favourites as I love how they leave my hair and I’ve been using them what 6/7 years now. TRESemme also offers great value for money with the sheer size and regular offers.

The fuji green tea shower gel

Going for consistency at the moment with washing scents so I’m not an odd mismatch, so I’m using The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Shower Gel, I’m so in love with the smell of this range. It’s so fresh and really wakes you up in the morning without been overpowering, perfect for a weekday morning. As well as my shower gel I have The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Exfoliating Soap, which was in my January favourites. I find it’s great to use instead of a body scrub way less hassle as there’s no faffing with the tub and it really does scrub I tend to use it on my legs or areas I have dry skin.

I know face stuff in the shower seems a little bit random, but I like to multi task in the morning so I do use a face wash in the shower. Some people are funny about it but I don’t see the harm, plus the people that tend to criticise this practice don’t work a ‘normal job’ where your showering at 6:30am and don’t want to do a 30 minute skincare routine. My current face wash is the Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial wash, I love the scent and it seems to do the trick. I also keep my P.S. Love Facial Cleansing Pad, which you can read my review here and i try to use it every other day.

The fuji green tea shower gel

Finally I have a Mini Body Shop Bath Lilly from a Mango Gift set, I initially started using it as I was too lazy to go and buy another one and thought it would do for the time been. Turns out the mini body shop ones aren’t half bad, not as good as there big ones but on par with the ones you get from wilkos etc and as part of a set you might as well use them. I also have whatever razor I am currently using

What is in your shower? Do you have go to shower gels or do you mix it up.

Whats in My Swim Bag?

Slight variation on the “What’s in my Bag?” thing, this time with a focus on keeping fit and exercise. Early every Sunday morning, I go swimming at the local pool and just swim lengths non-stop for at least an hour, it’s a highly enjoyable form of exercise and I find it so refreshing. So I thought I’d show you what I take in my bag to the gym, I always find gym kit type stuff interesting because it allows you to see if there is something you’re missing or you can better packing ideas. I cannot use a lot of gym equipment due to a malformed muscles, requiring a personal trainer ideally if I wish to use such equipment which is not in my budget at present so I enjoy jogging and swimming.

Anyway onto my swimming bag, I use this large Drop Dead Tote which has a cute Egyptian theme to it and I received it as an 18th Birthday present using it daily for sixth form and university. Heavy books and too much stuff is usually loaded up and doesn’t look to bad, I still occasionally use it for shopping due to the size but my day to day bag is slightly more business professional appropriate. It has several pockets and its large size is ideal for swimming as it can hold so everything I need.

First up I have the Large Bath Sheet, this is a really old large towel as I rather have something which doesn’t matter as much for swimming due to chlorine. Also it is large enough to keep you covered, and dry your body and hair without becoming saturated. Although I take a plastic bag to put my wet towel and tankini in afterwards, just so the bag doesn’t get wet although it doesn’t usually get past the towel let alone into the bag. I usually wear my Tankini Freya under my normal clothes when I go, and pack underwear for afterwards but I’m not going to show that in this post. I’m aware Tanikis might not be the best option but they work for not I need and this have proper underwired built in bras which provides the support and hold I need as being busty although next time Bravissimo etc. have a sale I may invest in a costume.

Obviously after a swim you need to shower and get off all of the chlorine etc. Sometimes I refill my travel sized TRESemme shampoo and conditioner bottles which I am using at the time but I thought I’d try something different picking up some bigger bottles to keep in the bag (promoting my laziness). So I have Vo5 Revive Me Daily Shampoo and Conditioner, which although aren’t as good as my usual TRESemme so won’t switch these strip the hair but unfortunately don’t add the moisture back ideal for stripping the chlorine but you have to ensure you use a leave in conditioner or hair oil too. There a good size bottle though and a good price as I brought them at pound land. I often find what body wash I use irrelevant as long as they clean so I have Nivea Crème Coconut Shower Cream at present, it’s rich and creamy and smells just sweet and sublte. Two more hair bits in the bag, one is hair bobbles to keep my hair mostly up while swimming and to help my tie it up and brush it out afterwards I have my trusty Tangle Teazer. For afterwards I have 3 pretty self-explanatory items first and foremost my Sanex Sensitive Deodorant, got to keep B.O. at bay after all. Then to re-add moisturise into my face I always have a trusty The Body Shop Mango Lip Butter although this always switches as well as the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser (Travel Sized).

Finally I just have a Primark Purse from Summer 2014 which has held up amazingly well still looking pretty much brand new, jammed packed with slots and places to put everything it’s so damn handy although the back section only holds receipts. There’s also my mass of keys and keyrings which despite seeing somewhat ridiculous they are so simple to find in a bag.

Yeah so that is what is in my swim bag, what is in your swim bag/gym kit let me know in the comments below? Also let me know if you know any good products for dealing with chlorine.

Empties #10

Empties #10

Just after I’ve written and empties I seem to then finish everything so I always attempt to space these out somewhat. I don’t know if I should switch to doing these monthly or not but between monthly favourites, collective monthly hauls and then monthly empties I feel like my blog would just feel too repetitive. So just let me know in the comments if I should make this a monthly thing or just make it this semi regular more bi-monthly occurrence.

mkeup empties ft bourjois, collection

L’Oreal True Match Foundation in Rosy Ivory (Sample Size): I’ve owned this in the past and love having the sample size, which lasts ages by the way. I loved it over the summer for travelling, used it for graduation and in between and think this will definitely will be the next foundation I repurchase. Would I repurchase: sure.

Bourjois Paris 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory: This was a little bit of a dud, the colour was way too dark despite being ivory and the lightest shade and on its own it can tend to oxidise. Yet the coverage was great so if it’s the right colour it’s probably a great CC cream with a good level of evening the skin tone out. I’ve used it up by using it mixed with other foundations or bb creams especially during the summer and in varying amounts to use it up and make the colour up to match my more tanned colour especially in the summer as even tanned this didn’t match me. Would I repurchase: nope.

Collection Pressed Powder in Ivory: This is my favourite pressed powder ever and I rarely bother to buy anything else, I’m never oily so I cannot comment on its oil control but it thoroughly sets your makeup in place and is actually pale enough. It is fairly finely milled especially for the price point but it doesn’t look cakey. Would I repurchase: always.

P.S Love Egg Shaped Sponge: The sponge is starting to tear and just doesn’t seem to be cleaning properly so it’s time to swap it out again, this has transformed my makeup routine and I absolutely love using it. I usually end up chucking this every three months for a new one but at £1.50 a time it’s what £6.00 a year. Would I repurchase: yes.

skincare empties ft teco & garnier

Superdrug Tea Tree Skincare Lemon Facial Wash: Another item which has been in empties before as well as in the odd routine. So I won’t say much it is just a really nice refreshing face wash, great to use in the mornings. Would I repurchase: yes.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (‘Handbag Sized’) & Regular Size: After loving the Garnier Miceller Water I thought I would buy the handbag size to take with me on trips and travels, so I could get makeup off properly . I thought this would be great as you could refill it but as it turns out the top doesn’t come off which sucks. This would be great for going away for longer than a week especially as it lasts way longer than that and it’s a great easy to use product. This has lasted me absolutely months well worth it. Would I repurchase: yes.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: This has lasted me absolutely months, although I haven’t repurchased it yet instead buying the L’Oreal Micellar Water because I got it with discount vouchers. I love Micellar Waters in general as they take off your makeup thoroughly and I’m super lazy, I use it not only to take off my makeup but as a quick pre-makeup cleanse. Would I repurchase: yes.

Tea Tree and Peppermint Deep Moisturising Hand Pack: As it starts to get colder my hands start to need more moisturising as sometimes they crack, so sometimes they need some extra TLC. Like foot packs which I have talked about before these have moisturiser within like plastic gloves and they are perfect for a bit of pampering but you can still do stuff while wearing them like a touch of blogging or changing the channel on the TV. Would I repurchase: yes.

Macadamia Oil Extract Foot Pack: I’ve had many foot packs in the past so just look back in my empties if you want to know more, they rock that’s all. Would I repurchase: yes.

Laura Ashley Imperial Bloom Body Butter: Thick, creamy and delightfully floral scent and it isn’t overly heavy but it leaves the skin feeling hydrated and soft. The scent lasts all day too but not in an overpowering way, the main issues is that this was a Christmas gift and isn’t readily available but I think I will try other Laura Ashley Body Butter as the formula is so nice. Would I repurchase: yes, if I can find it.

hair empties ft argan oil & batiste

Batise Original Dry Shampoo (Travel Sized): So I brought this over the summer to take on holiday with me, but it’s taken me forever to use as I rarely use dry shampoo. I am starting to think I should switch to only buying travel sized dry shampoos so they take up less space. I definitely think batiste is my favourite dry shampoo although I like the original scent I definitely prefer some of the others like cherry and blush. Would I repurchase: yes probably.

Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner: I initially reviewed this way back at the start of my blog way back in the day, and I found it so-so and it spent most of its time sat the bathroom cupboard. But I’ve recently been using it after swimming and it’s really helped my hair stay in good condition. Would I repurchase: undecided.

Theraputics Renergise Shampoo and Renew Conditioner: These are little hotel bottles which I picked up to take swimming with me, really fresh and a good lather. I don’t think I would bother with trying to find these to buy I think I would use them again.

tesco cotton pads, ps love hand gel

Ghost Girl Eau De Toilette (sample): I received this lovely sample in the post, and it is absolutely delectable with notes of pear and pomegranate it’s a sweet fruity scent which I adore. I loved having the sample in my bag for the odd touch up and to freshen up throughout the day. The only thing I am not sure about is the packaging which looks cute but is slightly teeny if I dare say, but it smells too good I may crack. Would I purchase: yes.

P.S. Love Anti-Bac Hand Gel: This hand gel costs amazing and it costs £0.60, best impulse buy ever. Always keep an eye on the till stuff at Primark as this is impulsive and useful. Would I repurchase: yes.

Tesco Everyday Value 80 Cotton Wool Pads: So-So not great, but not awful they did the job and were good when I needed cotton wool pads tended to use them for polish removal. Would I repurchase: probably if I needed them.

So another empties over and done with, and off to the recycling. What products have you loved and used up recently?

July Favourites

July Faves

I cannot believe how quick this year is going? How is it August already! July has been a really good month starting with a holiday in Cornwall and ending with me starting my first graduate level job it is completely insane. So I am back with my favourites for this month as I found some new loves and rediscovered some others.

july faves ft body shop, bareminerals, sleek and pixi

Beauty Favourites

I’ve been loving face makeup lately and really started putting effort into a full look again, so after taking it travelling and falling in love with using it properly I’m loving my Sleek Face Form Palette in Light. I love Sleek products and this is a great do it all product and I have more effort into contouring it at the moment, the only thing I don’t always use is the blush which leads me into my next favourite. I love my bareMinerals make up and this month I have especially being loving my bareMinerals Blush Luminary Blush in Sunwashed Berry. This is more of a rosy blush than I usually go for as I opt for more of a coral toned pink but I’m loving the change. It’s such a long lasting and light weight blush and I cannot imagine I will stop losing this anytime soon.

I love pink toned neutrals, with my favourite palette being my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette but to conserve space when I went away I took the Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Plum Quartz and I haven’t stopped using it since. Filled with pink and plum shades it is right up my street, for a simple low key look I’ll just use the lightest shades but you can easily build up a variety of looks.

Although I love my TRESemme Shampoo and Conditioner every so often I get a really dried out scalp (TMI maybe), my sister when she gets it uses medicated shampoo which smells awful. I instead use The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner and it works really well, I’ve written a full review for it here. So my dry scalp is going and I have beautiful banana smelling hair, very summery.

Finally a nice summery scent from Elizabeth Arden in Sunflowers, I got a bunch of travel sizes last summer as I wasn’t as keen on this initially but this spring summer I have really fallen in love with it. A little goes a long way with this one and it lasts all day which is ideal really. So I just put a little dot on my wrists and behind my ears then I am set for the day which is great really.

Non-Beauty Favourites

I rarely do non-beauty favourites as I don’t always have enough to say in this regard but this month there are one or two things that I have really being loving.

 tour de franc july favourite

My TV favourite this month has been the Tour De France, which ran pretty much the entire month from the 4th right through to the 26th and I wanted it live most days for the first two weeks before starting my new job. This year has been amazing with the closest competition for years with the biggest names in cycling, plus an amazing effort made by the British cyclists. With Froomes historic win and amazing performances for all 10 British cyclist with a record 8 finishing it’s been a good year and hopefully we can move away from any negativity.  As the final day rolled round I opened a bottle of wine and ordered a take away thoroughly enjoying the whole thing.

So I got my car this month and for my first solo drive I grabbed a CD which just happened to be Twin Atlantic The Great Divide. I saw them finally last November and putting this it just brought all the amazingness back, I haven’t bothered to take it out of my car yet I just happily drive along listening to this great album.

So what have your guy being loving this month? I love reading favourites which means I absolutely love this time of the month as it helps you really discover new products as if they are someone’s favourites it’s a great recommendation.

Mega Empties Part Two

Mega Empties Part Two

So I had way more empties then it seemed reasonable so my empties got split between two posts,if you wish to see make up and skin care empties check out my other post here. This post with cover bath body and hair. So lets get going so I can finally chuck everything out.

bath and body

Bath and Body

Shea Butter & Peppermint Deep Moisturising Foot Pack: I have no idea what brand these are as my mum picked them up from body care but I also like the ones from home bargains. These work so well on dry cracked feet and are mess free simply stick on the booties and leave on for 15-20 minutes while you so something else. I’m endlessly buying these as they are amazing especially as summer is coming up and you’ll have your feet out more and more.

Gingko Biloba Intensive Rejuvenation Foot Pack: I love foot packs as you can tell, as more and more come out I’m just trying all the different ones out and I haven’t found a bad one yet

Wilkinsons Fruits Rhubarb and Vanilla Fragrance Explosion Bath Bomb: I’ve been curious about these bath bombs for a while as they are so inexpensive and smell great in the packet so seem way better value for money. So they make the bath smell amazing but that seems to be it they don’t change the colour and don’t do anything spectacular to your skin but they are still nice to try and I thoroughly enjoyed using it just to try out but I’m not sure if I’d try again although they are only around the £1.00 mark.

Sanex Sensitive Shower Gel: I don’t know if they still sell these in the same packaging but I will always buy the sensitive version as its my favorite scent and always feels nice on the skin. I cannot think how to explain the smells but its simply sweet and nice. They last ages and well worth trying out.

Radox Nourish Bath Soak with Ginger and Shea Butter: This was the most amazing nourishing bath soak ever my skin felt so smooth and nourished as it did after using this. It didn’t have that many bubbles but I feel like sometimes bubbles aren’t important if it leaves your skin feeling amazing afterwards. It’s also so soothing and relaxing after a long day so perfect with a few candles and a good book (or a text book, the joys of final year). I may repurchase it but I’m never loyal to bubble baths/bath soaks and like to mix it up but I may rebuy it at some point I definitely wouldn’t turn it down.

The Body Shop Vanilla Brulee Body Butter: This was one of the Body Shops Christmas scents and as its vanilla i wanted it, I received the set as a gift from my boyfriend parents. It was lovely and it is a shame that it was only a Christmas scent as I prefer this to the regular vanilla scent.

haircare batiste and tresemme

Hair

TRESemme Smooth Salon Silk Shampoo and Conditioner (both 900ml): These have lasted absolutely months and they are my all time favorite shampoo and conditioner I barely use anything else as they leave my hair feeling super clean and amazing. They do smaller bottles but the bigger ones are better value for money especially as I stock up on when they are like 2 for £5 or half price which is always possible simply due to how long they last you can always wait for the right offer. I like the other offers but salon silk is by far my favorite great quality and amazing value for money.

TRESemme Colour Revitalise Colour Protection Treatment Masque: I’ve had this for ages but being a 500ml tub it just never stops going its just so good. I don’t know if they still do this one so I’m going to keep an eye out for it.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Travel Sized in Blush: I’ve had this since last summer, tending to opt for the travel sizes as I rarely use dry shampoo, this smells really nice and batiste always do great dry shampoos. I have discovered that dry shampoo definitely works best putting it in the night before but then it depends why you are using it.

candles

Candles

Matalan Vanilla Sugar Candle: I love vanilla candles and this one from matalan was amazing kicking off loads of scent which was a really sweet vanilla. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn’t burn evenly so a lot of the candle is wasted which is a shame.

Primark Pineapple and Ginger Candle: I’m still undecided on this scent as I don’t know if I like it or not as its very different to what I usually go for but these smaller candles are only £0.80 so it wasn’t a waste. I don’t think I will repurchase it but it was nice to try something new.

Primark Sweet Berry and Patchouli Candle: I loved this just a lovely berry scent which is more subtle rather than over powering, it looks pretty with the little top and everything it is well worth trying out if you go to primark.

Phew I’m done, no more empties at least for now and hopefully not for a while. What have you been trying and loving at the moment.

Lots of Love

The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner Review

DSCF4273

So recently I’ve been struggling from a dry and irritated scalp which I think is due to the weather as my skin is suffering too, I also know it wasn’t caused by a change in hair products as I’ve been working my way through my massive bottles of TRESemme. My friend recommended these as they’ve done wonders for her hair.

First up the smell, they’ve hit the banana scent on the head but I think it could be a bit hit a miss with some people as they are quite full on so take a sniff before purchasing as it can be a bit like marmite in that sense.

So on to actually using it, they are both quite thick formulas so it does take a while of working it into your hair to create a lather however, it does ensure your hair is thoroughly clean. The conditioner is lovely and smooth and despite reading reviews saying it doesn’t do anything my hair is left silky and smooth I just love it. I still much prefer my TRESemme combo but these are great and my scalp is no longer feeling irritated or dry, so definately if you’re scalp is suffering in the winter months go and pick some up.

I also realise that mine is different in colour and look to those on the website so I don’t know if I have a new or older formula of it as my local body shop down the road is an outlet one so these could easily be an older formula, if any one knows let me know.

Another thing to mention is the price each bottle costs £4.50 for 250ml compare this to by good old trusty TRESemme costs £4.99 for 500ml and is often on offer. Saying that I got mine from the outlet where you save 30% on two items ect, so buying them both together actually cost £6.00 rather than the usual £9.00. They do work and it has worked wonders for my scalp but would I repurchase I don’t know. I would not switch to these permanently as they are a bit on the pricey side especially as I have thick hair so they might not last overly long which is a shame really.

I have enjoyed using it and will continue to do so for a while before switching back and will just keep using as and when a problem flares us.

Both the Shampoo and Conditioner are available from The Body Shop for £4.50 each.

Have you tried either of these and how did you find them?

Aussie Leave in Conditioner Review

DSCF4243

So I did the haul for this a while back which you can read here, and I thought I’d finally get round to writing a review for it as I feel like I have definitely used this long enough.

For hair that wants to polish up its act

Wannabe starlet? Well hair that shines is good place to start. Give your hair an encore and spritz this nippy miracle straight on,
for hair that just got its lustre (and its mojo) back.

So Aussie have a wide range of leave in conditioners but due to the moisture recharge one been out of stock I bought the Aussie Miracle Recharge Shine Leave in Conditioner, and I really wanted to try a new leave in conditioner for a while but it wasn’t until my hairdresser used this on me and I loved it. I’ve often found that creamy traditional leave in conditioners are way too heavy so this was a nice change.

I don’t often find aussie products worth the money especially when I’m so happy with my TRESemme which lasts ages but I’ve loved the aussie smell I just find the hair products so so for the price but this is amazing. Lightweight, smells amazing and really does work, and it leaves your hair smelling amazing it throughout the day.

So when and how do I use it? I tend to use it throughout the week maybe once in between washing especially if it is a week in which I use a lot of heat or after swimming as chlorine is quite damaging to hair.

I just love they fact that this isn’t a heavy leave in conditioner it leaves my hair feeling sshinyand soft and has drastically improved the condition of my hair. So have you tried any of the Aussie Leave in Conditioners or do you have any leave in conditioner recommendations?
