Review: Collection Velvet Kiss Moisturising Lip Cream in Blackberry

Collection Velvet Kiss Moisturising Lip Cream in 6 Blackberry

So, after my discussion on Friday about falling in love with makeup again, it only seems right to meet the product that inspired me to play with and enjoy makeup again the Collection Velvet Kiss Moisturising Lip Cream in the shade Blackberry, something fitting as it turns into Autumn. Per the Collection Website the Velvet Kiss Moisturising Lip Cream is a “Moisturising liquid lip cream, leaves a matter velvet finish on the lips without drying them.” Not a huge claim or promise but it retails for a mere £2.99, from Boots, Superdrug and even your local supermarket so how does this shape up.

Collection Velvet Kiss Moisturising Lip Cream in Blackberry

Let just start with the colour isn’t it just stunning, a beautiful well blackberry purple perfect for the autumn winter months when you want to embrace the berry lips in a fun way. I know purple is not necessarily a standard for my pale skin tone but I wanted something fun and slightly different really. Basically, I love the shade on and off the lips and I wonder why I never tried it before.

Unfortunately pass the beautiful colour I have to say my feelings are fairly mixed. For application, it’s not too difficult but can be a little patchy so you need to work a little bit to ensure its not streaky. The formula dries and sets quickly though so you can get on with your life fairly quickly, it’s not a liquid lipstick that stays tacky for hours.

The collection lip cream makes no promises to be long lasting, although I always feels as though long lasting comes in line with having a lip cream. This is definitely not long lasting by 10am on a work day it was patchy and completely gone from the middle, causing me to reapply, this was without a coffee or a drink on a hectic morning with nothing comping into contact with it. For the first reapplication, it goes over the top fine but after that you really need to take it off, start again and make sure my lips are clean and dry. Which has proven to be a pain, and after a morning of keeping up with my lipstick which you must with such a bold colour my lips were dry and uncomfortable.

I think it’s a shame how poor this venture turned out, I had high hopes for the Collection Lip Cream and thought it would be a great alternative option for lip creams but it turned out not to be so. I love the colour, and I’m glad I tried it but I think for now if you want a Matte Lip Cream I would just go for the NXY line which I have love all 3 shades I have purchased in the past. Keep your eyes peeled as I will be trying out a Rimmel London Matte Lip Cream in the coming weeks, which I am excited to try. Let me know what matte lip products you love in the comments and if you want to see more reviews for matte lip colours check out my reviews for the NXY Soft Matte Lip Cream in 08 San Paulo, 19 Cannes and 20 Copenhagen.

September Collective Haul

I’m back everyone! Did you miss me? Probably not but regardless I’m back after having to take some time out to look after my mum, we are getting there and I am now going to start getting back into blogging. So, I am easing myself in with a little collective haul.

Primark: I love a bit of Primark, also purchasing a pair of heels which is not showcased here. I haven’t purchased any Primark clothes recently as I am trying to show restraint not buying what I don’t need. At the end of October me and my friend are having a week away staying in a variety of Air Bnb and hotels, so I picked up a pair of Love to Lounge Grey Footlets (£3.00) for when I want to be comfortable but don’t necessarily want to walk around bare foot like I would do at home. They are super handy and pack small, so seem like a no brainer and I can wear them when I get home, these also have structural integrity so shouldn’t slip off my feet all the time like the fluffy Primark ones tend to do. Also for the trip I picked up some PS Micellar Cleansing Water (£0.90), I’ve previously used the full size version and it’s not a bad product saving room in my bag. If you want to see my review of the PS Micellar Water you can check it out here

September Collective Haul - Collection Velvet Kiss

ASDA: After thinking about it for a little while, something took hold of me and I felt like I needed to own a purple lipstick. So I went for the affordable route just in case it wasn’t my colour or my thing, and I also wanted to try something different with the Collection Velvet Kiss Moisturising Lip Cream in Blackberry (£2.98). Fingers crossed this goes well as I am apprehensive about such a dark/bold colour. (Not Photographed, opss)

September Collective Haul - Superdrug Makeup

Superdrug: Seems like everywhere was doing 3 for 2 on makeup in September but I prefer the flexibility offered with Superdrug as it offers it across all makeup brands. So I took advantage of the offer and picked up some bits I actually needed for once. First and most important was the Collection Primed and Ready Invisible Setting Powder in 01 (£3.99 free), which is fast becoming my favourite powder for setting my makeup and using as a base it keeps my skin looking flawless. Just before going shopping I just had to throw out of my mascaras, I can never resist trying something different and I felt like trying a new L’Oreal Paris mascara so on a whim I picked up the L’Oreal Paris Miss Baby Roll Mega Volume Mascara in Black (£7.99). The third item I picked up was the Barry M It’s a Brow Thing Shape and Define Brow Powder in Medium (£4.99), I just felt like trying something different for my brows so keep your eyes peeled letting you know how I got on.

September Collective Haul - Fluke

Waterstones: I have brought a book in ages, physical or digital, as I was re-reading what I had but I was having a spendy day and just felt like it really. Fluke by Joseph Mazur (£9.99) has been on my list for a while as I prefer those smart thinking books. So next month I’m going to stop looking at my screen before bed and start reading more.

I also picked up a yoga matt, some cute heels and fun headphones all of which I’d used before getting round to photographing as I just seem to excited to use the items and they aren’t the easiest to store before photographing. I’ll get back into the swing of photography and writing soon but it’s been a busy month and I will be trying to get back into the swing of things throughout October, I have a lot planned so hopefully I can get over the hump and get back into creating posts I love.

Review: P.S Pro Illuminating Primer

ps-pro-illuminating-primer

I feel as though I am slowly getting back into the swing of things but it’s taken a while to just sit down and make myself write when there are so many other things that need doing. Still one of the best ways to get back into it is reviews, straight forward with a clear plan.

In 2016 I reviewed another Primark Primer, which I really enjoyed but once again I always have to be on the look our for another Primer. To mix things up in 2017 I felt like going for brightening my skin with an illuminating primer, so here is how I got on with the PS Pro Illuminating Primer which is a “Sheer illuminating base gives skin a natural glow”.

The box promises that the Illuminating Primer:

“Gives skin a natural glow without looking greasy. Creates a soft-focus appearance to veil the look of fine lines and pores. Preps the skin for a luminous flawless makeup application. Can also be applied over makeup as a liquid highlighter for normal/combination skin”

I have to say I love the look of the PS Pro range packaging the matte primer had a matte black squeeze tube while this one has a lovely white satin packaging, it’s just that thought into the outside looking smart and reflecting the packaging. In this case the packaging directly matches the product when you squeeze this onto the back of your hand the white cream has this sort of radiance to it, it is not quite glitter but you can see the illuminating products. This is not an instant wow my face is beautiful and illuminated but this adds a radiant glow to your face and looks great in the right light.

ps-pro-illuminating-primer-swatch

Depending on the foundation you put over the top, you can see the illuminating properties underneath. Yet if you use a heavier coverage you cannot really tell and the primer offers minimal effect. If you want a true illuminating effect is beautiful over the top of foundation using a small amount just adds a glow to the skin, it’s a great long lasting highlight. So actually, if you want a lovely budget liquid highlighter I would totally recommend it.

So as a primer purely as a base, makeup does sit nicely on top of it but I did not feel as though it added longevity and in dry patches my makeup still broke up. This may be the time of year I have chosen to test this as my skin is dry at the moment. I feel as though other primers offer more with smooth skin finishes or a moisturising base.

Overall if you want a primer I’d say maybe look elsewhere but if you want a liquid highlight this is actually a great product and I would definitely pick it up. The PS Pro Illumination Primer is available from Primark for an affordable £5.00.

Review: PS Pro Longwear Mineralised Foundation in 00 Porcelain

primark-ps-pro-foundation

Sorry guys this post was meant to be up yesterday but I was too busy playing Sims 4, they finally added toddlers in a free update on Thursday. As a long term Sims lover this was amazing and I did nothing but Sims, so naughty me ended up finalising the post yesterday night when the post was already meant to be live. But hey grab your coffee and start off your Monday morning right as you add things mentally to your shopping list.

If you’ve followed my blog for a while you know that my all-time favourite foundation is the L’Oreal True Match Foundation but recently I have want to try something new and while perusing Primark I stumbled upon the PS Pro range and seeing how pale the foundations got I just couldn’t resist.

According to the packaging the PS Pro Longwear Mineralised Foundation:

“Advanced formula provides all the benefits of mineral powders;

Contains silica, mica, magnesium, copper, zinc, kaolin, manganese and vitamins;

Smooths the appearance of skin imperfections and moisturises;

Provides excellent coverage with a natural finish and weightless feel;

With SPF 15 to protect the skin from the sun”

One of the things that surprised me was how pigmented and thick the foundation is, it’s definitely a full coverage foundation you cannot even slightly question it but this is definitely a longwearing foundation. At this point I slightly disagree with the weightless feel claim, it’s not weighty but it’s not heavy and cakey on the skin it just gives you that completely airbrush skin where you can hide all of your imperfections.

I’ve found the best way to apply this is with a flat bottomed brush, you need less product and it leave a nice natural and full coverage look. I found with a sponge part way through the morning the foundation would break up or it would apply funny. In fact I apply this foundation with the Kiko Milano Skin Tone Foundation Brush which I reviewed earlier this week if you wish to check out the full post here.

The one downside is that I found that although the makeup itself is not drying when my skin seriously dried out about a week ago it was slightly patchy but after a few face mask, and some tlc it is now applying perfectly again. This is definitely more of a foundation for normal/combination skin.  Still I recommend checking it out wether you want a good budget option, want a nice pale option or just like trying out new foundation, I generally like the stuff I’ve found in the PS beauty range and cannot wait to try out some more in future.

The PS Pro Longwear Mineralised Foundation is available for £4.00 from Primark, this range seems to have loads of colours as well as testers in store if you are curious to try.

Current Makeup Routine: Autumn Edition

20161026_153423

autumn-makeup

As the seasons change, we all like to mix up our makeup, so I thought I would share how I’ve mixed it up for the current season and what I am currently loving.

autumn-makeup-garnier-skinactive-micellar-water-and-moisturiser

Before I do any makeup I always cleanse my face again, as I’ve usually done a fully skincare routine by this point I just simply use a little bit of the Garnier SkinActive Oil-Infused Micellar Water on a cotton pad. To create a good base for my makeup I always moisturise and my current favourite is the Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb Super Hydrating Antioxidant Moisturiser, especially as the weather is getting cooler and the dry air of heating and temperature changes moisturiser is a must.

autumn-makeup-loreal-paris-sleek-collection-mua

I’d like to say I am using a primer but half the time I never remember it, so I am usually straight onto my foundation which I feel like it is included in every single one of the L’oreal True Match Foundation in Rosy Ivory. This is by far my favourite foundation, it’s one of the best matches I have ever found and it’s a nice medium but buildable coverage. Any blemishes I simply cover up with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, it’s just one of those concealers that is good for anything. Then to add a little touch of definition and colour with the Sleek Face Form Pallet in Light bronzer and a touch of the MUA Blush in Cupcake, not adding anything dramatic just a touch of something.

Next up the brows, I don’t do anything fancy, I lightly build up and fill in the gaps with the Natural Collection Eyebrow Pencil in Medium Brow. I cannot believe how good this is, it’s so affordable the product is great and it even has a spoolie the colours are limited but if it is in your shade, definitely check it out. Then if I’m feeling it I finish up my brows with a touch of Benefit Gimmie Brow, I am still debating of forking out for the full price item.

I’m also enjoying keeping my eyes simple, just some liquid eyeliner something to simply define but with no blending or effort. At present I am loving the L’Oreal Paris So Couture Super Liner. Then finish it off with lashings of mascara which I grab which ever one I feel like wearing I am fairly non-committal with mascaras at the moment.

autumn-makeup-nxy-soft-matte-lip-cream-in-20-copenhagen

Finally it is all about the lips, a mad thing for me to say really considering I have such a love hate relationship  with lipstick but I am trying to push the boundaries. So to complete the look for this post, I’ve finished off with the NXY Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen (see the review here). I don’t always commit to it but it does make me feel autumnal and feel like I am embracing this time of year.

What are your favourite makeup items this time of year, let me know in the comments below I’d love to know.

Barry M Flawless Brightening Primer Review

Barry M Flawless Brightening Primer.

You know those days when you are perusing the aisles of Superdrug looking for nothing in particular when all of a sudden a purple primer jumps out at you, well that’s what happened to me and I couldn’t resist. So pas the novelty of a such a strong purple primer how does the Barry M Flawless Brightening Primer actually shape up.

I personally think that the purple colour makes for such a unique selling point, whether it actually does anything or not it’s different to anything else I have seen on the market. Often lilac is used to cancel out yellow tones, but this is definitely not lilac so I am unsure how or if this is colour correcting this is but I think this takes some further research.

Barry M Flawless Brightening Primer Swatches

Despite looking like a cream product, mainly due to the colour probably, the product feels and acts like a silicon based primer. As you work it into the skin in upward motions you can feel your skin getting smoother and your skin tends to look that bit smoother, essentially a better version of your skin at present. It’s amazing that no colour residue is left, not even at hint and it is something you kind of have to see to believe. I cannot say I have noticed a brightening effect due to the purple in the primer, which is a shame but as far a primer goes it feels great on the skin.

Makeup sits well on top of the primer, looking smooth and airbrushed and I love the final appearance it gives. The only thing I’m unsure about is how long it extends the like of my makeup as it lasts a work day, but I failed to do any heavy duty testing but in reality we all just need our makeup to last the day.

Overall I enjoy the novelty of this primer the fact its purple and finished like any other is amusing and it stands out when in my makeup collection which helps me ensure that I use it. Yet I feel like the gimmick with the colour is most of what this primer is about, sure it feels nice and works well but I think you can get better primers out there especially if you want a brightening effect. Let me know your favourite primers in the comments.

Empties #12

keep thinking I am always writing up empties posts but then it’s because I write the mini ‘review as and when I finish the product and then collect them up into the post (junk in my empties bin) has built up. I just find it is the best was to do it so that I can remember what the product is like while I used to write it all in one block, plus I stay more motivated. Anyway see what I’ve used up this time.

makeup empties ft rimmel, ps love and l'oreal paris

Rimmel London Wake Me Up! Concealer in Ivory: I’ve gone through a number of these as I feel as though this is one of the best drugstore under eye concealer on the market, and it is more likely to be in stock than the collection concealer. It really covers and brightens the under eye area and just wakes up your face and keeps it looking flawless. Would I Repurchase: yes, again and again.

Rimmel London 9-in-1 BB Cream: I won’t say much about it as I did a full review of it back in the summer which you can read here. Headline: liked it then, still like it now. Would I repurchase: possibly.

P.S. Love Lift and Curl Mascara: I tried this just after using the Benefit Roller Lash, any amazement in the curl ability and last from that went out of the window when I tried this. This adds a touch more curl, and creates more fluttery lashes which can be built up so I could go the whole hog or nice and natural. This is also so much cheaper with no tacky packaging. Would I repurchase: definitely.

L’Oreal Miss Manga Puny Mascara: Although I never follow the dates on makeup, naughty I know but if I followed it so much would get chucked out. I’ve had this almost a year and a while back it started to really irritate my eyes soon after putting it on and throughout the day so it’s had to go, saw me well over xmas though and it is almost finished anyway. For a review check out my post here. Would I repurchase: probably.

skin empties ft loreal and botancial choice

Superdrug My Little Star Cotton Wool Pads: (x2) Although I love the double faced pads from Boots you end up going through them so quickly, and I love using the bigger pads plus picking them up in the baby isle oppose to cosmetics mean they are cheaper and softer than the large cosmetic pads. This means I can use less pads to do my face or take off nail polish and these can be split in half if needs be. Also cute bonus these have cute teddy bears on them which you can see in my original haul.  Would I repurchase: yes.

L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Micellar Water: By now we’ve all tried out a least one or two micellar waters in an attempt to find the perfect lazy but effective make up removal product, micellar waters seem to be that. Either as a makeup remover or a quick effective cleanse, and the L’Oreal Micellar Water is no exception. Although I think I prefer the Garnier version this is a damn good product the smaller bottle stops it lasting as long only lasting 2/3 months opposed to the 5 I can manage out of the garnier but it quickly and effectively removes the makeup and leaves my skin clear and fresh. Would I repurchase: yes.

Skin Therapy Face Wipes: I’ve mentioned these a fair number of times so won’t say much, these are okay and do the job. I tend to use these for a quick freshen up or touch ups while doing my makeup. Would I repurchase: yes.

Botanical Circle Reducer Sunflower Eye Patches: I live for these eyepatches which I have no idea if they do reduce the circles as I don’t use them regularly enough but they feel absolutely amazing. Would I repurchase: yes!

skin empties ft superdrug my little star, skin therapy & nair

Nair Gentle & Effective Ultra Hair Removal Sensitive Cream: Sometimes you just don’t want the effort of shaving and these creams can be great, I have to say these Nair ones are great and I’d consider getting more than the sachet but then again I don’t use them often and you only need one at a time as there is a lot of product. Also it cost £0.52 for two so well worth the price. They also worked in the 5 minutes. unlike some, wash off really well, don’t smell too strong and I didn’t have stubble for about a week so great for a week or long weekend away you won’t need razors and you’ll just have irresistibly smooth legs. Would I repurchase: yes, definitely.

The Body Shop Blueberry Body Scrub: It’s taken me a while to use this as I seem to go in phases with products such as body scrubs, but I love this scrub. Having a large and small exfoliating particles I feel as though it might do more but probably not it might just be in my head, but this works a dream especially for helping having smooth skin before shaving or just in general. This also smells amazing, it sucks blueberry was limited edition really but I will always attempt to repurchase this it’s to die for. Would I repurchase: yes, although it was limited edition. I would buy more of TBS scrubs.

Dove Soft Feel Antiperspirant Roll-On: I’m not fussy with deodorants although gel/sticks always offer protection, I just wasn’t sure of the initial smell of this one, not to my taste but it was okay. Would I repurchase: unlikely.

The Body Shop Almond Hand Cream: In winter hand creams are a must and I think the body shop almond is my favourite, this is my second tube. Deeply hydrating, not sticky, soaks in quickly and it smells like Bakewell tarts what more could you possibly want. Would I repurchase: for sure.

Macadamia Oil Foot Pack: I’m not going to say much these always appear in my empties as I love them so much. Would I repurchase: yes.

empties ft the body shop & dove

Elizabeth Arden Red Door EDT: Just one more after this until I’ve used all of my Elizabeth Arden Minis, I think these mixed scent sets are great especially as a gift or a way to try loads of new perfumes. Red Door is a great every day scent, sweet and kind of musky I think it’s a great work day scent just dab a small amount on the wrists and you’re great. It’s long lasting, just a really great scent and one of my favourite Elizabeth Arden scents I’ve tried. Would I repurchase: yes.

I love Raspberry and Blackberry Body Spray: I love perfumes but sometimes what you need is a sweet & refreshing body spray. This is deliciously fruity and lasts all day, I think it’s amazing, plus being plastic means it’s less likely to break in my bag. Would I repurchase: yes.

This One Gets You Silky Smooth Light Hair Oil: I love a good hair oil, this is one that was given to me by a friend to try as this is her favourite one and uses it ¾ times a week. It smells great and works into the ends of my hair super easy, the only problem it’s not the easiest to get hold but I have a number of hair oils on the go at the moment anyway so I’m not too bothered. Would I repurchase: if possible.

skin empties ft superdrug my little star, skin therapy & nair

Colgate Flurigard Mouthwash: I have being using this since I first got my braces 11 years ago and haven’t used anything else since. This leaves your teeth feeling wonderful and clean, and your breath so fresh. Would I repurchase: always.

Carex Strawberry Laces Hand Gel: I have to have hand gel in my bag, work desk, makeup station just to have perfectly clean hands, although I absolutely hate the just alcohol smell. This smells kinda alcoholic but more like a strawberry cocktail rather than sterile and is just a treat to use. Would I repurchase: yes, for sure.

Barry M Nail Paint in Fashion Icon: The cap snapped within days of buying it however for the first month or so of winter 2014 it seemed to be fine, I then stopped using it for the year and when I revisited it winter 2015 it was horrible and dry so into the empties it when. Saying that it was a so-so nail polish as it peeled off easily so I’m not too disappointed it’s dried up. Would I repurchase: no.

What have you used and loved in the last month or so? Let me know in the comments and i will speak to you guys soon.

Empties #6

Empties

I always seem to collect more and junk until it seems to get excessive, its always as though I think that’s not enough for a post and then suddenly I have a bag full of junk. It always seems weird my obsession reading/watching empties videos as its kinda loads of mini reviews.

Makeup

Makeup

Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer in Naked: This is my second possibly even third one of these and I love it for brightening up the under eye area. My main issue with these is that you cannot tell when you’ve almost finished, I used it one morning and then next nothing more came out. You pretty much always need to have a back up if you like them which sucks.

Maybelline New York Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser: Depending on the condition of my skin as and when I use it has really varied my opinion on this but most of the time I have liked it but ever the beauty blogger in me I always have to try new things. You can read a more in depth review of what I thought of the baby skin primer here.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 010 Light Porcelain: I loved this foundation and I think I may need to pick up a new one as it has such a beautiful dewy finish and it is great for spring summer. I am currently enjoying my lasting finish foundation but I think I will come back to the wake me up foundation after its done or I may give in to temptation and buy another one as it is a perfect summer foundation.

Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 063 East End Snob: This has become a major obsession, so obsessed that I still have two more of these in my current make up stash. It is one of those products that is definitely worth the hype so if you are curious about it go and pick it up. I did a full review of it which you can check out here.

skin care

Skincare

P.S. Love Love Your Skin Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Wipes: So these are one of the many options of Primark own range wipes but I picked these up as they just seemed different, you can see my initial view of them here. I absolutely love them they are really refreshing, although they are not actually any good for removing the bulk of make up it is great for once you’ve removed your make up and you just want the scrubby clean feeling. I will definitely repurchase this.

Tesco Cleansing Facial Wipes for Sensitive Skin: I think I have mentioned these before they are no way near as good as the old Tesco everyday value wipes which you cannot get anymore. They’ll do on lazy days or to correct mistakes/clean your hands while doing makeup.

Botanical Choice Eye Puffiness Minimising Patches in Ginkgo: I featured the sunflower version of these in my last empties and I decided to try the ginkgo ones. I am still not convinced that the actually do anything but they feel so cool and refreshing so even if they don’t do anything it doesn’t matter as it’s less than £2.00 a pack.

Superdrug Vitamin E Radiance Eyecream: I’m so lazy with my eye creams so I’m unlikely to ever see results unless I kick myself up the arse and get into gear. Also this felt like such a drying cream so if you know any good eye creams let me know in the comments below.

Superdrug Nourish Nail Polish Remover

Nails

Superdrug Nourishing Nail Polish Remover: I’m not sure there is much to say about nail polish remover as it is what it is, I have found that the acetone free is not as good at removing nail polish as those with acetone but it is definitely kinder on the skin around the fingers. I am not loyal to any nail polish removers regardless as I just grab what is around when I need a new one.

bath and body

Bath and Shower

Wilkinson’s Fruits Strawberry and Pomegranate Fragrance Explosion Bath Bomb: This smelt amazing and left the water a beautiful baby pink colour, it just made for such a relaxing bath. The bath bomb could be split for two baths but they are so inexpensive there is definitely no need to and if you want a luxury bath without the price of lush you should check them out.

The Body Shop Vanilla Brulee Shower Gel: I am so in love with this it smells amazing and it sucks it was only a Christmas fragrance so I hope they bring it back, luckily I have a second bottle that I am using now. Its really rich and creamy and is a great shower product for both morning and night as its sweet and subtle and not over powering.

The Body Shop Vanilla Brulee Body Polish: My ongoing vanilla obsession, I received this in a gift set with one of the shower gel and I’ve loved using it. Not as harsh as a body scrub it is a really light exfoliate so you can easily use it every other day, I will definitely grab more if it comes back at Christmas.

Dove Beauty Finish Anti-Perspirant: I love Dove Deoderant defiantly my go to brand as you don’t sweat and there are a lovely range of scents. This isn’t my favorite scent but is definitely a good one and I would pick it up again.

So there are my empties for this month, hope you enjoyed reading it and I’ll talk to you soon.

Mega Empties Part One

Mega Empties Part One

This is the biggest empties post I have ever done with a grand total of 25 items overall (between the two posts), it just seems like everything has ended as a massive collection. I’ve kept putting this off as the mini reviews can take a little bit of time but my empties are taking over my life so I thought I would just have to bit the bullet and get it over and done with. It is also so big that something that was going to start off as one post has now become two as there is just so much stuff, so today we’ll cover make up, Skincare and some random bits and pieces. Part two which will cover Bath and Body as well as hair which will be up next Friday.

Makeup

L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation Rose Ivory

L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation in R1 C1 Rose Ivory: My first issue with this is you cannot tell when this is used up and a lot of product seems to go to waste which is a shame, I was half way through my face when it ran out and had to take it off and start again so you probably always need a back up. I liked this foundation and its nice to have such a good colour match especially at the drugstore but I think due to being up able to judge it running out I think its something I would consider repurchasing but I’ll see what else is out there and possibly come back. Major bloggers bug now as I have to see what else is out there.

Skincare

skincare

Superdrug Superfruits Exfoliating Mask: This is the first time I’ve tried and exfoliating mask surprisingly and I really enjoyed it my skin felt amazing after. Also with a mix of raspberry, cranberry and blueberry it just smells amazing I will definitely pick it up again.

Superdrug Yoghurt Smoothie Mask: This is one of my favorite Superdrug face mask it smells sweet and subtle and just perfect for any time of year and any occasion. Also with cocoa butter it is really nourishing to the skin and as I have to odd dry patches it works wonders at hydrating the skin.

Superdrug Purifying Cucumber Peel-off Mask: I love peel off masks as I just feel like they fully clear out your skin. This cucumber one from Superdrug was really refreshing and felt really nice.

Superdrug Tropical Peel-Off Mask: Final mask I promise, I always buy sachet masks and I react funny to mud masks and I like to mix up my face masks. This one smelt like pina-coladas need I say more really.

Skin Therapy Normal & Combination Skin Lightly Frangrance Face Wipes: Why did Tesco stop doing there everyday value own brand wipes? I used to love those wipes these were the replacement and cost twice the price (okay from 50p to £1.00 isn’t a lot but its the principle), but these are a dud. They feel nice on bare skin if you feel a bit oily and you want a quick clean and cleanse but for removing make up they are too dry and do nothing. They are especially useless for removing eye make up so I’m on the search for a new inexpensive makeup wipe for lazy days.

Botanical Choice Dark Circle Reducer Eye Patches ‘Sunflower’: I threw out the box but I have the sachets you you can have a little glimpse, you get four goes within a pack. I’m not convinced how well they work but they feel really refreshing and really wake you up so I’m enjoying them for now. I’ll definitely pick up some more at some point.

Superdrug Deep Action Pore Cleansing Nose Strips: Are there any good ones of these? These seemed like a little bit of a dud and didn’t really do much and it always came off clean which it shouldn’t as I have loads of blackheads on my nose.

Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal Hydrating Cleansing Milk and Hydrating Toner: I received this in a swap from the lovely Danielle, it was like a 10 day treatment a long with mini moisturizer which I still haven’t finish they last way longer than that as a little goes a long way and they smell amazing well worth checking out if you can get your hands on them

Fashion Nails and Elizabeth Arden Green Tea

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Perfume Sample Size (3.7ml): So I recived this last summer in a set with several other Elizabeth Adren Samples which you can check out here to see what else I got here. They last ages and are great for travel, this is the first one I’ve finished and I was unsure initially about this one but on hot or sunny days it was a nice and refreshing scent. I think now I would repurchase and these sample size was great to fully discover what you like and what you don’t.

P.S. Love Fashion Nails: These were a super cute owl design which I wore to london zoo for my 21st birthday, I love the primark nails they stay on really well and only cost £1-£1.50. These were on sale for 50p so how could I say no. Although the primark glue is alright I much prefer to buy my own elegant touch glue which is awesome and lasts ages

Phew we made it through the mountain of rubbish that I’ve been hording in my room. I’m now about to fill up the recycling with all of my junk. . . .

Empties #5

1

As I seem to go through phrases of empties everything I own seems to be running out out of everything simultaneously at the moment in massive lumps and chunks. I think it seems like more as everything that seems to last forever have run out at a similar time so its a big bunch. Anyway you guys know the drill, you look at my rubbish and I give you guys a mini review of it. So I apologise that it hasn’t been long since my last empties these things happen as I’ve had so many empties lately.

Make Up

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer for Dry & Sensitive Skin: I absolutely love this stuff, it will forever be a part of my make up routine. I am indifferent to the normal vs. sensitive so I just pick up what ever is there or on offer as I have normal to dry skin and they both work amazingly. I had dreadfully dry skin over the start of the year and this was such a life saver just adding a super moisturising base for my make up.

Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool: I’ve had this for ages but kept putting off using for ages as it had cracked but at home its not that messy to use and I have so many opened pressed powders I thought I just need to use it. This used to be my favourite before trying the Collection Pressed Powder, it is still a great powder and is really inexpensive I just much prefer the collection powder and as Superdrug is more convenient to me so its easier to grab collection.

Collection Pressed Powder in 18 Ivory: As I’ve mentioned above this is my all time favourite powder and I’ve already go a replacement, it is nice they go so light with the powder colours but it doesn’t look to chalky or white on the skin. If you are a pale girl I suggest trying it as it is only £2 ish.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair: This is one of those beauty blogging super hyped products that is actually worth it. It has such a high coverage and blends so easily, I’m not keen on this for under the eyes but its perfect for covering up blemishes. The only thing I hate about concealers in this style is the packaging as you can easily tell that there is loads of product left but you cannot possibly reach it.

NYC Cover Stick in Light: This one sucked its so thick, my mum has it and over summer I used it and it was amazing but I couldn’t seem to get it to work. Maybe I got a dud one but it doesn’t bother me too much as it was so inexpensive its not like I wasted a ton of money but I’ll stick to other concealers from now on.

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist: I got this for event work last summer to try and help my make up last all day when rushing around. I have less of a need for it so I’ve been using it for my long ass day at university and work or for special nights out. For £5.00 this was great as it really helped my make up last and I think I may repurchase although as I do not currently have a need I haven’t bothered yet.

Bath and Body:

The Face Shop Sparkling Wine Face Mask: This was another little Canadian treat from Danielle and I just this a relaxing bath treat before my birthday. I love using face masks and I think I’ve been converted to small packeted and paper/cloth ones. This also smelt like fanta grape which is a huge plus in my head.

Sweet Snuggles Vanilla Bath Fizzles: I picked these up cheaply from Superdrug as I’m not allergic to them and I love vanilla. However they were a bit of a dud they added nothing to the bath no smell, change to water or anything which kinda sucks but it was worth trying maybe I’ll find something better elsewhere or I’ll stick too loads of bubble bath.

Ted Baker London Body Souffle: This was another little thing I got in my gift set for chirstmas from my sister and I love the scent its so pretty, in case you were wondering its rose and sandlewood. I’ve just been using it after my shower most mornings and it simply soaks into the skin leaving it silky smooth and smells awesome. I might buy a full size on its own at a later date once I’ve used up all of my body shop body butters up.

Dove Go Fresh Anti-Perspirant in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena: I love this deodorant and I think I’ve had this in an empties before its simply my go to I love Dove products and deodorants and this by far is my favourite one. To be fair there isn’t much more to say.

Sanex Zero 24 Hour Deodorant: I have no idea if this is TMI or not but when I used to shave my under arms they used to get really irritated and I know you aren’t technically meant to use deodorant after shaving so I use this every few days when I shave under my arms so I’m protected and I’m no longer irritated.

Hair

TRESemme Heat Defence Spray: These bottles always seem to take forever to use up even though I use it every single time I put heat on my hair from using my hair dryer to straightening my hair. This stuff works so well and I always make sure I have a back up, I even have a travel sized one for holidays as its just that good and the travel sized ones are adorable.

Have you tried any of these products if so what do you think and what have you be loving at the moment?
