August Primark Haul

It’s been a slightly spendy month, or picking up all sorts or little bits. If you wish to see the random bits I picked up this month, then you can check out my collective haul here but now is all the bits I picked up in Primark over two trips.

Primark Take One: I find Primark is one of those stores where you can find everything you want one trip and absolutely nothing the next time, so this trip into my one in town I just picked up some basics. Starting with some of my usual Primark goodies, I love the PS Cotton Pads (£0.50 each) which I use to remove my makeup daily, highly affordable and a great production. I’ve always used these before posting but I’m tempted to pick up another set as they are so cute, and look stunning so don’t hesitate to pick up some PS Almond Nails in Silk Gray (£1.00). How cure is this Mini Tin Candle in Pink Fizz (£2.00), and it smells delicious basically I have no will power. Finally, a repurchase as my last pair were dying, I wear the Slipper Shoes (£4.00) pretty much daily so I pick up a pair every few months or so.

Primark Take Two: Still feeling uninspired by the clothes but needing to stock up on the basics, I managed to do a small amount of damage on my second trick to Primark this month. Okay this first item is not a basic or an essential, but I cannot resist Pusheen, I brought the other Pusheen PJ leggings for my mother a bit back and when I saw the Pusheen PJ Leggings (£8.00) in the alternative design I knew I had to have them for myself.

Back to the basics, I’m a girl that lives in leggings but a few of my pairs are dying on me due to over wear but I need to wait until winter for some of the thick legging to come back into store. I saw these Zip Ponte Leggings (£8.00), which are slightly closer to a tregging so I might be able to get away with them for work, added bonus they are so damn comfy. I also picked up these slightly different looking Regular Space Dye Leggings (£8.00), which are slightly closer to a jogger than a legging. I haven’t worn joggers since my pre-teens but with the skinny leg and slouchy look being acceptable, I thought why not. I also picked up the essential Black Long Line Cami (£3.00) and Navy Stretch Vest (£2.50) as my previous ones are getting old and starting to get holes in them.

Final item for the Primark haul is rather unexciting Body Puff White (£1.00), but I couldn’t remember the last time I changed my poof so it was clearly time to pick up a new one.

Have you brought anything from Primark recently? Let me know what your winners are and what I should keep an eye out for.

June Collective Haul

Another month another haul, I feel like compared to other months I have brought more than previous months. So, let’s skip the introduction and get straight into all the lovely goodies I purchased in June.

Forever 21: Every so often I look at Forever 21 but don’t always buy, something made me think I’ll go for it and I thought I would try something a little bit different. Unfortunately, however much I loved it I have had to return the Contemporary Collared Shirt in Ivory (£15.00 £9.99), I just didn’t have the boob room but the material and quality of the embroidery was amazing so it ended up been such a shame. The other two items the Plus Size Super Skinny Jeans (£16.00) and Surplice Top in Peach (£11.99 £3.99), fit perfectly and in fact create a super cute casual outfit, comfortable and well made so I may be back to order more.

June Collective Haul - Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer

Body Care: I don’t think Body Care is a nationwide store but there’s two local to me and offers everything bath and body with a large amount of affordable skincare and makeup. I’ve run out of my Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer (£2.49), which was half its normal price right up my straight.

June Collective Haul - B&M - L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation

B&M: I love B&M, I know most people know about and rate food or homeware products but I think the beauty section is often highly underrated. Although you cannot guarantee the colours on offer there is often a large range of Rimmel, L’Oreal and Revlon foundations as well as mascaras for at least 50% off. All are sealed in their own packets so if you want to save on amazing product check it out. I’d been curious about the L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24-Hour Matte Foundation in 10 Porcelain, for a while and it was marked down to £4.99, near enough half price. I won’t open it now but it was too good to miss and I will post a review down the road for sure.

June Collective Haul - Superdrug - Freedom Brow Duo

Superdrug: I’ve been doing better this year of not buying makeup I do not necessarily need, but I felt like it was finally time to buy some proper brow powder opposed to a brow pencil or some suitable eyeshadow. I was amazed by the shade range and low price point offered by freedom so thought I would give them a go and brought the Freedom Duo Brow Powder in Medium Brown (£3.00) for myself and the Freedom Duo Brow Powder in Blonde (£3.00) for my mum.

June Collective Haul - Primark - PJs & Flipflops

Primark: I’ve not felt overall inspired by summer fashion this month, however I simply could not resist these Pusheen PJ Leggings (£8.00) as they are so cute. I was less sure on the top for this set, and I have plenty of PJ tops but these leggings I just couldn’t resist and I love these types of Primark PJ’s I have owned several in the past. I also picked up some summer essentials these Black Flipflops (£0.90), are so affordable and are such a great option for the summer you don’t need to worry about if they don’t last.

In addition to those pictured above, I also brought a new straightener the Remington S5525 Pro-Ceramic Extra Hair Straightener from Argos (£34.99). My last pair of straighteners gave up after something close to 5/6 years so it’s a good run. I love Remington straighteners and with longish, very thick hair I prefer a wider straightener to save time and have a better finish.

So that’s a slightly bigger pile of goodies than usual for June but I’m so happy with everything I’ve picked up. What did you buy in June?

January 2017 Collective Haul

In case you missed my Beauty Resolutions at the start of the month, I am trying to only buy what I need so I thought I would start again with my monthly collective hauls. It’s just a nice way to share anything I’ve brought and I already know I will be buying less this year, as I am trying to do one in one out with beauty products but I’m also only buying clothes I need so I actually like and wear what I own. So in the month of huge sales how much resistance have I managed to shop

Leia Factory Shop: If you are busty you know sometimes finding a good bra can be expensive and I feel like Leia is one of the best kept secrets the website often has 50% off sales but I live fairly closed to the factory outlet a tiny shop filled with racks of bras. A couple of times of years they have major sales where the bras are so cheap and I love the Freya Decos, I showed restraint after buying a few back in October so I left with two Bra and two pants which match (the purple matches a previous bra.)

january-collective-haul-leia

Deco Vibe (£36 £9, 75% off), Deco Delight (£34 £9, 74% off), Deco Vibe Shorts (£13 £3 each 77% off)

If you are curious about the shop and what they offer you can check out Leia here, but as you can see the sales are definitely worth it.

primark-nude-zip-tote

Primark: I am currently on the lookout for a nice, expensive(ish) bag but in the mean time I need a smart bag for work as my current bag is looking a little bit worse for wear. Although I’d tend to go for a black bag I fell in love with this Nude Zip Tote Bag (£9.00), I couldn’t resist and its relatively inexpensive. Also its huge I’m going to transfer all my stuff across shortly.

boots-janauary-collective-haul

Boots: January was a month to stock up on some basics once again, I’ve fallen in love with the Boots Essentials Cucumber Cleansing Wipes (£1.00 each) and with a points bonus it made sense to stock up now. Continuing with basics in the month of December I was constantly foing my nails for various occasions and I’m almost out of nail polish remover so I thought I would give the Boots 2-In-1 Nail Polish Remover (£1.29), I’m not loyal with nail polish removers and tend to buy what’s there.

january-collective-haul-boots

My skin is so dry at the moment so I’m going made with face masks in order to give my skin some much needed TLC, so while it was on offer I picked up a couple of the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask (£0.99 each). I’ve got one already but I cannot wait to put them to the test.

The final thing I picked up was the Revlon All In One Ultimate Mascara (£9.99), I cannot wait to give it a go as I love as I desperately need a new mascara. Don’t worry I will post a review shortly.

What have you picked up in January either in the sales or in general. I’ve still got a few items on my list so there will still be more hauls don’t worry.

Mini New Look Haul

New Look Haul

Like I mentioned in my May collective haul, I placed a small order with New Look and here it is. I’m not a huge New Look Fan but I was in need of some long black sports leggings and after several failed attempts at H&M in placing the order I went to look at New Look.

New Look Black Sports Leggings

So obviously the first thing is the Black Sports Leggings (£14.99), despite being described as mid-length they most definitely aren’t they have very long legs and crumple at the bottom but that’s how I like my leggings I just feel the mid-length is misleading. They are super comfy, yet feel like they hold you in without any unsightly ripples, I’ve also warn them to pilates and they don’t roll down which is a huge plus.

New Look Grey Stripe Bardot Neck Bodycon Mini Dress

I love this next item Grey Stripe Bardot Neck Bodycon Mini Dress (£8.00), super flattering shape and print but this is one of the reasons why I usually stray away from buying full price new look items. I brought this on sale for £8.00 down from £19.99, this in primark would be £6-8.00 for the same thing. It is definitely a lower quality item and £8.00 is a bit expensive for it and if I saw it in the shop I wouldn’t have picked it up. Still it will look cute with ballet pumps and a leather jacket.

Finally a little impulse purchase the Pure Devotion Blue 10ml Perfume (£2.99), I just thought it would be great to keep in my handbag as it’s hard to find a perfume of this size. I cannot wait to try it out.

So that’s the few bits I’ve picked up from New Look recently, what have you picked up recently? Let me know in the comments.

May Fashion Haul

I originally meant for this originally meant to be a workout wear haul but as I’ve only picked up a few bits so far and picked up two bits of non-sports wear it is now an opportunity to do a “May Fashion Haul”.

First up is this beautiful Apricot Royal Blue Box Pleat Skater Dress, it’s a beautiful shape and I love skater dresses for most occasions. I’ll link it here as well as stealing a picture from the website, just so you can see it clearly. I cannot wait to wear it this summer no matter what I am doing. It will look great dressed up or worn simply with flip flops.

In Zara I fell in love with this Lapel Jacket, the neutral tones means it will go with most outfits and its styling means it’s a perfect smart casual piece. As my pictures will never do it justice you can find it here on the Zara website, I cannot wait to start wearing it.

So I usually so swimming or I used to jog daily before I got my graduate job although I intend to pick it up again at some point, I recently signed up for a pilates class which called for picking up some new bits. I mainly used it as an excuse to buy some new bits, as all my old stuff was tired and needed tossing anyway. To start with I picked up a new sports bra, so I picked up this cute George Front Zip Sports Bra. For my bustyness this would be no good for jogging ect. as it only offers ‘medium’ support but I like not having my boobs squished against me, and with Pilates you can get away with a less harsh fit. I love the colours, and it is so easy to take on and off.

Also considering you know Pilates I picked up some Primark Cropped Athletic Leggings, which is in a super pretty colour palette. These have been great for Pilates providing the right amount of stretch and comfort, these also dry off well if sweaty and haven’t loss shaped when I’ve washed them. Finally from SportsDirect I picked up some USA Pro Yoga Socks, I wanted socks with grips on the bottom as the class I attend is done in socks. I hope to use them this week if I remember and then they will hopefully make me less likely to slip.

So that’s everything I picked up fashion wise recently? If you’ve got any recommendations for workout clothing leave them in the comments below.

Primark Haul

It feels like a while since I last did a pure Primark haul, and seeing as I managed to pick up a number of bits it only seems right to bring back the Primark Haul, after all who doesn’t love Primark? So I picked up some bits I needs, some pieces for my Easter break and then somethings I really could resist and that I’m way too lazy to think of an excuse of why I wish to buy them.

primark grey tshirt and black jeans

I managed to pick up a perfect little outfit from Primark really although both are fairly diverse pieces. When I first felt the Grey V Neck T-shirt (£4.00) I knew that I couldn’t leave without it, slightly oversized and it feels unbelievably soft it could easily be worn for pjs or lounge wear but I think it will be great to travel in or run errands. I love primark jeans super stretchy and comfortable as I’m not much of a jeans person I prefer the stretchy fabric and I love the high waist on the Super High Waistted Skinny Jeans (£10.00), I mean it lives up to its name and keeps everything in check. These are great pieces on their own or could make a great everyday outfit.

Although I have enough socks I love the Supersoft Ankle Trainer Socks 3 Pairs (£2.50) so much I had to buy another pack, these really are super soft and don’t loose that softness when they are washed which is amazing. Affordable, soft and comfy socks what more could you ask for. I also picked up a 5 pack of footlets (£2.50) which are always so overpriced everywhere else and these work out at 50p each. I wear them almost daily for work so a second pack is useful and I also keep a pair of them in my bag at all times. Highly recommend them if you wear a lot of pumps or heels, they add comfort, reduce smelly shoes and are a great price. I also picked up another pair of 120 Denier Tights (£2.50), once again these wash really well despite the low price and as I wear tights a lot I can always do with another pair.

I always check out the P.S Love/cosmetic area at Primark and I have had some great luck in the past (check out my swatch post here), I picked up some more P.S. Love Egg Shaped Makeup Sponge (£1.00 £0.70) which were reduced although they have some new shapes I hope these aren’t discontinued. I use my egg sponge daily and try to clean it daily, I tend to buy a new one every few months I could use them longer but I like changing them regularly as I think its more hygienic to do so. I also found the P.S. Love Nail Polish Fast Dry Spray (£0.80) I didn’t even know they did it but I could resist especially at the price and cannot wait to use it. I’ll make sure to review it as if it really works it’s a bargain.

The last 3 items are really underwhelming, first up a 5 pack of toothbrushes (£0.75) they are actually decent toothbrushes but I picked some up for travel just to have fresh toothbrushes  Finally I picked up two hand gels, I love looking at all the different scents that primark do and I managed to find two I haven’t tried before Cuticura Peach Delight Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel and Cuticura Candy Apple Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel which will end up in their various places like my bag, desk draw, car ect when my current ones run out.

So that’s everything I picked up at Primark, have you guys found any Primark treasures recently let me know in the comments as I love it when Primark have completely irresistible items.

OOTD- Movie Friend Date

On a Sunday I usually do a little Sunday reading post on my instagram, flashing back to one of my old posts but today I thought I would do a quick bonus post in the form of an OOTD. Earlier today, me and my best friend went out for a spot of lunch and to go and watch the Deadpool movie, she’s a marvel fan and between her and my boyfriend i have seen all of the films. Plus i brought my boyfriend custom Deadpool shoes last valentines i was going to see the film at some point.

So I wanted to keep it semi-casual and still nice, starting off with the comfy basics of Primark Black Skinny Jeans and a Navy Primark Vest Top. Then to smarten it up I laired up with the jersey blazer which I no longer remember where it is from as I’ve had it well over 5 years. Once again Primark for the simple black pumps and finishing off with my handy New Look Pin Stud Duffle Bag, all in all to create a simple smart casual day friend date outfit.

Christmas Day Outfit Inspiration

Outfit Inspiration

So Christmas is fast approaching but the biggest question is what to wear, well I thought I’d peace together a few inspiration boards of what to wear on the day.

Comfy and Cosy

First up is a day where you aren’t going out or doing it, it’s just a small intimate day with you and say your other half or a few close people. It isn’t a big deal, Christmas is a day for spending time together, exchanging gifts and eating good food super chilled and relaxed. Think festive pjs or jumper to put fresh on, on Christmas day. Cosy jumpers and leggings or fluffy slippers, basically think cosy and comfortable. It’s your day to celebrate and do whatever you want. It’s not a side of Christmas you usually see of think about what to wear but there is no reason why you can wear something new, cute and cosy.

Smart Casual

You may end up with something a little less low key or even if it is a family day at home you might wish to make it slightly dressier per say. Also it looks much nicer on your customary Christmas Day Instagram selfie than PJs although we all secretly want to always be in our PJs. Here Jeans and Leggings are still a great basics here, comfy yet can be smarter depending what you pair them with something nicer or smarter.  Pair jeans, leggings or even a cute skater skirt with a cute shirt, blouse possibly with a touch of lace just something a little bit dressy. You could even try a smart soft jumper which could look really on point within these looks. Really just go for neutral or cranberry and other berry tones to add to the feel of the season.

Sparkle

The final inspiration is more all out and possibly over the top, great for a work or family party and feels the Christmas spirit, with not a Christmas jumper in site. When I think dressy I think dresses, lace and sparkle which I hope I have managed to some up, skater skirts can look flattering and suit a wide range of body types as well as being in a large selection of finishes and materials. If a dress isn’t for you try and look for delicate lace or chiffon material as they really class up and outfit and they look super cute with heels. One thing I really love for Christmas is tartan, it just feels festive and you can go super festive with red and green while still looking smart and fancy.

Hopefully these will inspire you with your Christmas day outfits, creating something different possibly. What do you like to wear on Christmas day are you more relaxed or do you like to dress for the occasion.

Gift Guide for Him

gift guide for him

It’s the turn of the men today with the gift ideas for the special guys in your life, a good mixture of gifts I feel although I’m not great at thinking of gift for guys. To be honest with the guys in my life I tend to buy them whatever they ask for but hopefully I’ve collected some suitable ideas here with the help of my boyfriend. Once again you can find a more extensive list and further details on my MrLista list which you can find here.

With Star Wars coming out this Christmas it is fairly fitting to get a Star Wars related gifts and I have two creative sort of gifts perfect for a variety of budgets. If they love making and having star wars models there are two good options first up the cheaper of the two the Star Wars Origami book, where you can make all your favourite ships (? I don’t know, Star Wars bores me) and fill your shelves with your childhood. Or slightly less breakable and super nostalgic, buy Star Wars Lego but these are a lot less budget friendly so it depends how much you like this person or how much they love star wars.

Fat Face Rusksack Gift Set

Men, or at least the men in my life, are not overly fussy with grooming they love having the more luxurious items but when it comes to buying things themselves they’ll simply pick up whatever is the cheapest/easiest. So sometimes it is nice to buy them something a little bit nicer for Christmas. Not only do I love Fat Face clothing but they toiletry sets smell amazing and are my go to gift set, plus as they are in the 3 for 2 Boots deal you can get something for you too. I have added some additional sets to the mix too. For this I’ve picked a mix of fragrance, skincare and grooming so check out the list for more ideas.

mr deadpool tee and george asda shirt

Often men are easier than women to buy clothes for, often the sizing is uniform between shops and the standard male uniform of checked shirts and/or t-shirts is much easier to buy. Also if you get a checked shirt for a boyfriend, you end up with something cute to wear yourself, there are loads of great options for a variety of objects in fact in the past we’ve found that George Asda Checked Shirts are really good quality of such a low price. Although there is a wide variety of checked shirts I’ve selected to match style and budget. There’s also great graphic and different t-shirts out there, the theme I’ve gone along is superheroes my boyfriend loves Marvel, although his favourite is Deadpool (bring on February 2016) I have found a variety of Marvel, DC and fun t-shirts. I already brought this for my boyfriend for his birthday but the Deadpool Mr Men T-shirt is adorable and looks great in real life.

hugo bus watch

Another good option is a watch either for the business man or the running late student, a watch can never go a miss and is always a smart option for a man. This is where a budget can really run away from you though with it being simple to always buy better so I have attempted to find a range of watches for a variety of budgets. Saying this I have to say watches are the more pricer choices here simply because there is so much range and scope.

Firebox Ninja Mug

I don’t know if this is the case for all men but my boyfriend especially is a big kid a heart so why not indulge this. For years, although still hasn’t got is a helicopter but this year his decided to go for something else but I have included this on the lift as well. There are tons of other gifts of this nature like a Warp Pipe Mug or a Ninja Mug all stuff that is a little bit fun and gimmicky, I’ve found a bunch which you can check out here.

So there’s a few ideas for the men in your life, hopefully its inspired or helped you. What do you buy for the men in your life? Check out my full list on Mr Lista here, and I will be back with the stocking fillers on Monday evening.

Gift Guide for Her

gift guide for herTo kick of this gift guide series I am starting for with the gift guide for girls, with the guide for him and stocking fillers coming in the next few days. I am doing more of a gift guide for the girlfriend, sister, friends or mothers when you don’t know what to get them, all of which are relatively budget friendly. I’ve created an extensive list on MrLista, which after doing the colab post I’ve actually found it insanely useful for these types of post in order to have links to all websites, which you create (I’ve explained more in my original post here). There you can find more information, if I’ve entered it correct, and links to the websites.

daisy marc jacobsChristmas is the best time of the year to buy fragrances, extensive perfume sets for all price points and with bonus offerings all for a few quid more (if it costs more at all). So it’s a good time of year to buy a perfume themed gift, or buy one for yourself to, I’ve comprised a variety of offerings from some of the leading brands such as Ted Baker and Marc Jacobs.

holiday_cheer

I’ve also added to the list a bunch of pamper sets featuring offers from The Body Shop and Lush with a variety of price points and offers. Due to allergies I can’t use a lot of Lush products so I tend to prefer The Body Shop sets, both offer very different things often the Body Shop offering have a wider variety of products all of the same scent, while lush is more like bath time fun but are still great it just depends what you are looking for.

ted baker shine on gift set

Beauty is another key area for that girl in your like and there are some great sets launched around this time of year, they offer great value money offering something that you cannot get any other time of year. Most of these sets offer such variety in terms of types of products and versatility, although I recommend you take note of what sorts of makeup they tend to wear. With sets from Benefit, BareMinerals and Ted Baker. I haven’t personally tried any Ted Baker Makeup which is exclusive to Boots but the sets are beautiful and well packaged I get a body set most Christmas’, I always reuse the packaging for storing bits and pieces. If you know she has more makeup than she can handle but is still beauty made, a Makeup Bag is another great idea and there are some damn cute ones floating about.

toast usb

For the student or officer worker, or even a blogger, who has important files this Toast USB is cute and practical. Holding 8GB it holds a fair amount of data which will fit most people’s needs, they even come in a few colours and if you collect more you can buy a toast USB hub to go with it. I so badly want this but I have 4 USBs already so I definitely don’t need it but if someone wants to buy this for me I’ll be eternally grateful. Along this line you could also buy cute stationary, be it a diary or notebooks and desk stationary, we all love this stuff but often cannot justify parting with the cash for these types of things. With a variety of prices you can buy just one thing or a collection of items to build up a gift. Paperchase or Tiger is one of my favourite places for cute stationary, unfortunately Tiger isn’t online but it is well worth popping into a store as it is all cute and highly affordable.

asos scarf

To me clothing is a tricky area with the possibility of getting sizes wrong or something they might not wear but I always feel as though you cannot go wrong with a scarf, fitting all sorts of budgets and styles as well as being ideal for the winter months.

So here is a few options for gifts for the girls in your life, hopefully these are useful and there is a more definitive and full list of multiple options under each area on the respective Mr Lista List. Which can give you further information about each of the products, prices and direct links to the product so go and explore here.
