DIY Pamper Jar Inspiration

So today I thought I would do a quick post about a small gift I did for I did for one of my best friends from university. I’ve seen these jars all over the place and thought I would do it myself, this isn’t a DIY per say but this is what I filled it with and how I wrapped it all up.

DIY Pamper Jar - Kilner Jar

I was so long to find this pink Kilner jar on offer, and I built it all up around this jar. It’s a really great size and I knew she’d find a use for it in the future whether within her passion for baking or for general storage.

The next thing was to fill it up, wrapping each thing in cute stared tissue paper so everything that is in there will be a surprise. I started off with two Soap and Glory travel sized items, a body scrub and the old favorite righteous butter. A perfect pairing for travel or just to try. I then went for a load of little treats from a Foot Pack, Aussie hair mask and a selection of face masks. Finally to finish off the jar, I packed in 3 nail polishes two beautiful shades of purple and a glitter top coat. All small items that I knew she’d love and appreciate and I think that’s the joy of the pamper or treat jars that you can do whatever you want with them.

I found the cute star tissue paper in the card factory and this pink and white bag in the pound shop. I just feel like they really finish the whole gift off, it looked so cute and she loved the gift.

So have you ever made up one of these jars, what would you put in it and would you make this for a friend?

What I Got For Christmas 2015

what i got for xmas

Ah Christmas is over for another year, we’ve all eaten too much and drink our fair share and we can take a sigh of relief before New Year’s celebrations begin. I hope you all had a lovely day with family or friends. So here is a snapshot of what I got for Christmas, I got a lot of money from people such as grandparents and extended family so I brought some stuff in the sales today. Also I’m going to visit my boyfriend tomorrow so will be getting those presents the so will be posting those presents on Instagram. So here is just a few bits of what I got for xmas.

tomtom start 20

As you get older sometime Christmas becomes more about practicality than excitement and this is where my TomTom Start 20 WE 4.3” SatNav. Since getting my car in July I’ve being using my mums, extremely outdated, never updated satnav and getting my own seemed like a good idea. So my loving parents brought be the TomTom Start 20, easy to use with Western Europe and free updates for life I’m set. Hopefully I’ll never get lost again.

My best friend brought me The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Festive favourites Gift set, I love the green tea set its so fresh. Cannot wait to use this for my morning showers to wake me up before work and the mini body butter will come in handy when travelling. Also from friends I also received the New Look Pin Stud Duffle bag, I’ve needed a new bag for a while and this is a perfect casual bag to suit my needs. I cannot wait to start moving my crap over into it.

New Look Pin Stud Duffle Bag

This year as you know I started my first ever proper job as a graduate, the head of our department got us all a £10 Next Voucher which is so nice as it was out of his own pocket and it definitely came in handy with the sales, Next if great for work wear. Other gift cards I received was £10 for Boots, and £15 for Debenhams.

stocking stuffers ft sally hansen & forrero rocher

Then comes a random array of stocking stuffers featuring a Grand Ferrero Rocher and a Gruffalo Chocolate Lolly which are just a few of the tasty chocolate treats I received, the others are currently on the coffee table to share around. I also got a few nails bits in my stocking this year the really cute and festive Sally Hansen Salon Effect Real Nail Polish Strips in Snow Bunny which I cannot wait to attempt to try out. As well as two nail polishes, Maybelline New York Nail Polishes 649 and Maybelline New York Nail Polish in 447, which is a base coat and a glittery dark polish which will be great for new year. I also got a few bottles for Rose and one bottle of Malibu all in various states of being drunk in the kitchen.

So that’s what I got for Christmas this year, not the most exciting but I tend to buy what I want throughout the year. Also as it turns to money and gift cards which are harder to show. I’ll share what I got from my boyfriend and his family on Instagram and maybe on here if I pick up bonus sales stuff in January. Still Christmas is more about spending time with loved ones. Hopefully you’ve all had a great Christmas however you celebrate and enjoy the last days of 2015.

Stocking Fillers

Stocking fillers

To me a stocking filler is anything that is a little bit of fun, quirky and really budget friendly. I’ve included inexpensive gifts within the Gift Guide for Him and the Gift Guide for Her which are more serious, nice and inexpensive these are just all jokey fun and all under £10.00.  For further details, check out my MrLista list here. Although I have attempted to be gender neutral with the stocking stuffers, I’m not as good at this stuff for men so check out my ‘Gift Guide for Him’ if you would prefer a mainly male focus for gifts.

fking strong coffee

First up is for the coffee lover with Strong F**King Coffee, I just thought this was a bit fun and I have some friends that cannot live without strong coffee. So if you know a coffee lover and want a fun inexpensive list I think this would totally work, plus it’s a generous sizing although a jar of coffee would be cheaper this is a little bit more quirky. The person you may know may not be a tea or coffee person so there are plenty of Tea and Hot Chocolate gift sets, including ******, a hot drink in the winter months always warms you up and are perfect, plus you can give them something a little bit fancier than they would normally buy but you know they will use.

starbucks gift set

A bonus gift with these if you wish to spend a little bit more (or as a gift on their own) is buy a cute mug to go with them you can never have enough in my opinion and it’s something useful. Similarly you can pick up Twinning’s, Starbucks and Costa Gift Sets most are not on the list as they cost more than £10.00 but it is an all in one set.

I fucking love you mug

Worse comes to worst buy a cute mug, or not so cute mug in this case.

paper chase highlighters

In my ‘Gift Guide for Her’ (LINK) I mentioned buying cute stationary items, so I have added some into this post as well as they just build up a stocking in a cute way and I also think they would be great for kids gifts or stocking stuffers too. The Animal Highlighters from Paperchase are irresistible to me, I have had to resist them so many times as I have no need for highlighters in my day to day life. Things like small pretty notebooks (great for a handbag), stationary sets, and business card holders depending on what their job role involves.

marmite chocolate

CHOCOLATE! Chocolate is always a fool proof gift as everyone loves chocolate, it’s a little impersonal in some cases but it will always be well received. So I’ve collected a wide mix of chocolate gifts from fancy Truffles to Dairy Milk boxes and more Novelty Chocolate gifts. Chocolate comes in all shapes and sizes, so there is a chocolate filled gift for pretty much everyone.

firebox secret santa

Or if you really don’t know and cannot be bothered to think of a gift sites like Firebox do secret santa boxes wrapped in ‘crap wrap’. You pick box 1, 2 or 3 but god knows if there really are 3 different boxes or not as you nor the person receiving the gift will know what’s in which is all part of the fun really.

So be it Christmas on a budget or you are building a stocking hopefully you’ve liked this slightly different ideas that you can get your hands on. So thank you for looking at my gift guides, what are buying and hoping to receive this Christmas?

Gift Guide for Him

gift guide for him

It’s the turn of the men today with the gift ideas for the special guys in your life, a good mixture of gifts I feel although I’m not great at thinking of gift for guys. To be honest with the guys in my life I tend to buy them whatever they ask for but hopefully I’ve collected some suitable ideas here with the help of my boyfriend. Once again you can find a more extensive list and further details on my MrLista list which you can find here.

With Star Wars coming out this Christmas it is fairly fitting to get a Star Wars related gifts and I have two creative sort of gifts perfect for a variety of budgets. If they love making and having star wars models there are two good options first up the cheaper of the two the Star Wars Origami book, where you can make all your favourite ships (? I don’t know, Star Wars bores me) and fill your shelves with your childhood. Or slightly less breakable and super nostalgic, buy Star Wars Lego but these are a lot less budget friendly so it depends how much you like this person or how much they love star wars.

Fat Face Rusksack Gift Set

Men, or at least the men in my life, are not overly fussy with grooming they love having the more luxurious items but when it comes to buying things themselves they’ll simply pick up whatever is the cheapest/easiest. So sometimes it is nice to buy them something a little bit nicer for Christmas. Not only do I love Fat Face clothing but they toiletry sets smell amazing and are my go to gift set, plus as they are in the 3 for 2 Boots deal you can get something for you too. I have added some additional sets to the mix too. For this I’ve picked a mix of fragrance, skincare and grooming so check out the list for more ideas.

mr deadpool tee and george asda shirt

Often men are easier than women to buy clothes for, often the sizing is uniform between shops and the standard male uniform of checked shirts and/or t-shirts is much easier to buy. Also if you get a checked shirt for a boyfriend, you end up with something cute to wear yourself, there are loads of great options for a variety of objects in fact in the past we’ve found that George Asda Checked Shirts are really good quality of such a low price. Although there is a wide variety of checked shirts I’ve selected to match style and budget. There’s also great graphic and different t-shirts out there, the theme I’ve gone along is superheroes my boyfriend loves Marvel, although his favourite is Deadpool (bring on February 2016) I have found a variety of Marvel, DC and fun t-shirts. I already brought this for my boyfriend for his birthday but the Deadpool Mr Men T-shirt is adorable and looks great in real life.

hugo bus watch

Another good option is a watch either for the business man or the running late student, a watch can never go a miss and is always a smart option for a man. This is where a budget can really run away from you though with it being simple to always buy better so I have attempted to find a range of watches for a variety of budgets. Saying this I have to say watches are the more pricer choices here simply because there is so much range and scope.

Firebox Ninja Mug

I don’t know if this is the case for all men but my boyfriend especially is a big kid a heart so why not indulge this. For years, although still hasn’t got is a helicopter but this year his decided to go for something else but I have included this on the lift as well. There are tons of other gifts of this nature like a Warp Pipe Mug or a Ninja Mug all stuff that is a little bit fun and gimmicky, I’ve found a bunch which you can check out here.

So there’s a few ideas for the men in your life, hopefully its inspired or helped you. What do you buy for the men in your life? Check out my full list on Mr Lista here, and I will be back with the stocking fillers on Monday evening.

Gift Guide for Her

gift guide for herTo kick of this gift guide series I am starting for with the gift guide for girls, with the guide for him and stocking fillers coming in the next few days. I am doing more of a gift guide for the girlfriend, sister, friends or mothers when you don’t know what to get them, all of which are relatively budget friendly. I’ve created an extensive list on MrLista, which after doing the colab post I’ve actually found it insanely useful for these types of post in order to have links to all websites, which you create (I’ve explained more in my original post here). There you can find more information, if I’ve entered it correct, and links to the websites.

daisy marc jacobsChristmas is the best time of the year to buy fragrances, extensive perfume sets for all price points and with bonus offerings all for a few quid more (if it costs more at all). So it’s a good time of year to buy a perfume themed gift, or buy one for yourself to, I’ve comprised a variety of offerings from some of the leading brands such as Ted Baker and Marc Jacobs.

holiday_cheer

I’ve also added to the list a bunch of pamper sets featuring offers from The Body Shop and Lush with a variety of price points and offers. Due to allergies I can’t use a lot of Lush products so I tend to prefer The Body Shop sets, both offer very different things often the Body Shop offering have a wider variety of products all of the same scent, while lush is more like bath time fun but are still great it just depends what you are looking for.

ted baker shine on gift set

Beauty is another key area for that girl in your like and there are some great sets launched around this time of year, they offer great value money offering something that you cannot get any other time of year. Most of these sets offer such variety in terms of types of products and versatility, although I recommend you take note of what sorts of makeup they tend to wear. With sets from Benefit, BareMinerals and Ted Baker. I haven’t personally tried any Ted Baker Makeup which is exclusive to Boots but the sets are beautiful and well packaged I get a body set most Christmas’, I always reuse the packaging for storing bits and pieces. If you know she has more makeup than she can handle but is still beauty made, a Makeup Bag is another great idea and there are some damn cute ones floating about.

toast usb

For the student or officer worker, or even a blogger, who has important files this Toast USB is cute and practical. Holding 8GB it holds a fair amount of data which will fit most people’s needs, they even come in a few colours and if you collect more you can buy a toast USB hub to go with it. I so badly want this but I have 4 USBs already so I definitely don’t need it but if someone wants to buy this for me I’ll be eternally grateful. Along this line you could also buy cute stationary, be it a diary or notebooks and desk stationary, we all love this stuff but often cannot justify parting with the cash for these types of things. With a variety of prices you can buy just one thing or a collection of items to build up a gift. Paperchase or Tiger is one of my favourite places for cute stationary, unfortunately Tiger isn’t online but it is well worth popping into a store as it is all cute and highly affordable.

asos scarf

To me clothing is a tricky area with the possibility of getting sizes wrong or something they might not wear but I always feel as though you cannot go wrong with a scarf, fitting all sorts of budgets and styles as well as being ideal for the winter months.

So here is a few options for gifts for the girls in your life, hopefully these are useful and there is a more definitive and full list of multiple options under each area on the respective Mr Lista List. Which can give you further information about each of the products, prices and direct links to the product so go and explore here.

Was it Worth it: Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

was it worth it naked 3

I’ve rewritten this post several times as I’m not sure how is best to do this post, I thought after a year of owning the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette I’d be able to do a more comprehensive review of if it is really worth it as the hype and excitement of owning it is gone. My loving boyfriend brought me the Urban Decay Naked 3 for our two year anniversary last October, after watching me look at it so longingly forever. So although I did not purchase it with my own money I feel as though I can still asses the worth.

The Eyeshadows

Unlike the other Naked palettes, the Naked 3 palette unlike the other 2 palettes is much warmer with pinky-mauvey type tones so it doesn’t necessarily suit all skin tones or hair colours. I feel as though this definitely needs looking at in person swatching and weighing up if you would suit or use the colours. I love pinky warm neutrals so I knew I would get the use out of the palette, for some it doesn’t work and the palette just sits collecting dust.

I think the quality of the shadows is somewhat variable, some shades are better than others I am aware a lot of people say dust is a so-so shade, I disagree simply because it is pretty much pure glitter requiring more of a press on the lid type thing opposed to the normal application, you have to learn what works best for each shade and for you. I don’t think the quality is that bad and it’s just the odd shade where you have to change what you do to make it work, yet with the Urban Decay Primer Potion everything looks really good and lasts all day.

I also like the variety offered within this palette in terms of finishes from mattes, pearls and metallic. The official finishes as described by urban decay are as follows matte-satin, metallic, satin, matte, shimmer and microsparkle, so all in all a good variety of finishes and there is enough of each finish that you can create a look from each for example you can create a completely matte eye. Although initially exclusive to the Naked 3 palette most if not all the shades can be purchased individual but with a little help from online I will try attempt to explain each shade within the palette, as well as what I think of each one individually.

naked 3 shades

Shade by Shade Rundown

Strange a pale neutral pink with a matte-satin finish. To be honest to me this is pretty much a white shade, off white a most. I use this quite a lot actually tending to opt for it as a brow bone or inner corner highlight, you could use it all over the lid but this is definitely more of a highlighting shade

Dust a pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter. In all honesty this is much more of pure glitter shade and is one of the most messy eyeshadows, it splits opinion as it isn’t that pigmented. However as a glitter shade I find it is most effective if you put on over a primer and pack it on, or if you don’t want to pack it on it makes a nice inner corner highlight but it is the worst shadow in the palette.

Burnout a light pinky-peach satin. This is my super lazy day shade and my go to over September as I really couldn’t be bothered with makeup, I went for lips and swiping this over the lids. A pale satin shade that adds the subtle something which brightens your eyes without really having to do everything.

Limit a light dusty rose matte. This paired with Nooner is one of my go to work looks with both shades been beautiful creamy mattes, this is beautiful dusty pink shade and is a great all over the lid colour.

Buzz a metallic rose shimmer with silver microglitter. In terms of pigmentation and ease of use this is a far superior micro glitter shade, a beautiful rich pink. Apply lightly for an all over the lid option or pack on for a really high impact and beautiful outer v or central eye look. I definitely use this in more full on looks but I love this shade.

Trick a light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal microsparkle. This is definitely my least reached for shade and with its more orangey tones is sort of the odd one out of the palette. I think this is probably a love it or hate it kind of shade but this is one I rarely used.

Nooner a medium pink-brown matte. As mentioned I pair this a lot with Limit for an everyday/work look as matte shades are perfect for work. Both the shades work really well together and I use this as either an outer corner colour or a crease colour, just great for a definer but it could be an all over shade for more of a full on or smokey look.

Liar a medium metallic mauve shimmer. I’ve always dabbled with liar but over the past month or so I’ve reached for this even more using it for the bulk of my lid but mainly the outer two thirds but this is also a great crease shade if you are going for a lighter or more subtle look.

Factory a pinky-brown satin. First and foremost I wouldn’t consider this to be pinky-brown it is a warm brown but I wouldn’t call it pink toned. This is a great crease, outer v shade or could even be use as a definer on a lighter day time look or even to smoke out.

Mugshot a metallic taupe shimmer with a slight pink shift. This is a definate taupe shade but once again I do not see the pinky tone in this. Great to use within this palette and definitely is the most diverse outside the palette. It looks great in a look with dark side.

Darkside a deep taupe-mauve satin. I love this shade and I really don’t use it enough, its on the darker side (oh haha dark side get it) and for everyday wear I only use is a subtler liner than black heart. This is a really pigmented and pretty shade, probably great for a pinky-brown smokey eye which I need to experiment with a little bit more.

Blackheart a smokey black matte with rosey red microsparkle. I tend to use black heart as a liner using the angled brush, by using it in such a way unfortunately or fortunately depending how you look at it the red glitter is barely visible. If I used the black for more of a smokey look it might be more visible but it doesn’t bother me as it is a great black shade and great for a liner/definer shade.

Versatility

There is a limit to versatility in the sense that everything has the rosy toned theme, while some palette offer more colour variety. However every shade works together, so you can mix and match as you wish meaning you don’t need to think about if colours work well together, something that’s great for creating a great look when you’re half asleep doing a makeup. With the lovely variety of shades and shadow finishes I think you can create endless looks suitable for every occasion so for me this palette is definitely versatile enough.

Dupes

The dupe market is growing within the UK highstreets stores with great offers on a budget from the likes of MUA, Makeup Revolution and Freedom Makeup. If you don’t want to spend the money there are some great alternatives, I have tried a few and nothing matches the Urban Decay Naked 3 but they come damn close. The main shades that vary is the glitters are a lot worse quality and nothing seems to match Blackheart in colour and appearance. I feel as though you could happily live without the Naked 3 and search out a decent dupe. Personally I prefer the Naked 3, and as I reach for it most days I think I would prefer not to use the dupe but if it is an every so often item save the cash.

Use

Like I mentioned before I use this palette almost daily, after 12 months the minimum I’m using it is twice a week but I still get so much use out of it. This isn’t a phase at this point, I am getting the use out of it and it is completely worth it. I like that I can make a subtle matte look as well as something fancier all in one palette and I love all the different looks I can create with the palette. I use pretty much all of the shades to even Dust, the only shade I never tend to dable with is Trick, although it does go with some other shade in the palette the more coppery/orange isn’t something I find myself reaching for. I think not really using one out of twelve shades is that bad really, considering it is so easy to grab a palette and only use half of the shades.

Naked 3

Packaging and Brush

I know the packaging for this has split opinion but I really like it, it’s really robust in the tin form and I don’t feel as though it feel cheap at all. Definitely having more of a high end feel, first and foremost because it’s not made from card and secondly is closes securely yet simple to open. I feel as though it would be hard to damage the palette and the eyeshadows are unlikely to get damaged although it may prove to be heavier but probably not by much. I think the rose gold and subtle but shinny aesthetic perfectly mirrors the makeup miracle that is hidden away inside.

The Naked 3 Palette also comes with a dual ended brush one that is more for eyeshadow application while the other ended is more of a blending brush. It isn’t a bad brush, way better than the sponge tip applicators or ‘brushes’ offered by its drugstore counter parks and I use it regularly. Not my favourite eyeshadow brush but its semi decent and good for travel etc. It also washes well which is a nice plus, I just wash my brushes with baby shampoo.

So was it worth it? For me it definitely was but I know it is a bit of a mixed palette and I would suggest if you are uncertain buy a dupe. Then you can make the switch up if you use it load, or not if you’re in love with the dupe, while if you barely use it there isn’t any money wasted. Have you tried any of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes and do you think they are worth the price?

The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette has a RRP of £38.00 and is available from a variety of outlets.

MrLista: Currently Lusting After (and win £1000 of Goodies)

With Christmas on the horizon and Birthdays throughout the year, its often difficult to know what people want and where to find it. This is where MrLista comes in a website where you can collate everything all in one place and share the wishlist publicly or privately with loved ones, send it to your boyfriend so he know exactly what to get you for your big anniversary or Christmas with themes to match which is cute and it really appeals to me.

MrLista was in its beta stage when I first checked it out, yet everything seemed to run smoothly and signing up was nothing more than entering your email and creating your password so as simple as it gets. There’s a tutorial, and you can either add a widget to your browser or simply put in the URL to find it so I had a go at creating my wishlist of everything I want but at present cannot justify purchasing at the moment. I cannot believe how simple it was to add to the site and I usually go in circles with these things it took well over nine months to get to grips with wordpress itself.

Gwenllian-list

I created a Current Wishlist  of items I am currently lusting over as in just trying a site out this is definitely the most fun one to start with as you are getting to grips with things. A touch of online window shopping and lusting over items you want but can’t really have. So I started on the Muji website which I just don’t have the space to put these yet with my current set up and my current storage works really well. I also added a MUJI Acrylic Earring Stand which is really insane as I don’t own that many earrings and I rarely wear earrings in the first place.

I really want a pair of calf length boots, effortlessly stylish and perfect for the winter weather, I’d love a pair to team with leggings and checked shirts to take me from Autumn to winter. The Next Black Socks Mix Long Wedge boots are perfect and stylish and the wedge will help keep them comfortable. However, sometimes you want something less clunky and more cute I found the adorable Holly Punch Work Flats from Boohoo, which would super cute with a skater dress etc. I am not the biggest jellewery person, but I love having a few good quality pieces in which I’ve picked up two more budget friendly Tiffiany and co. pieces. The cute and possibly tacky ‘love’ ring (Paloma Picasso ring)  and the Tiffany & co, double heart tag pendant.

Despite it turning into winter I have been loving floral designs and patterns, which not only can be seen in my choice os super cute Insulated Mug from Paperchase, the cute Paperchase Makeup Bag and Next decorative bowl. It also really draws me to the amazing Ted Baker Gift sets. Floral is always pretty and I think add as colourful touch any time of year. There is tons more on my wish list, so why not check it out or even make your own.

So hopefully you can see how simple it is to create a wish list, and you  can create your own account and countless wish lists on Mr Lista yourself just in time for Christmas. At the moment Mr Lista are running a competition in which you can win your items on your wish list up to the value of £1000! All you have to do is create your wish list, enter it into the competition on the website #DearMrLista. The sign up is free and super quick to do, so you have nothing to loose and you could win big so you can check it out or find out more on the Mr Lista Website here. Its super fun and easy and I am so glad I found out about this, perfect to hint to my boyfriend as to what I want from Christmas.

What I got for my birthday . . .

Hi guys, if you didn’t know I turned 21 over the weekend exciting I know. For the day me, my boyfriend, my best friend and her boyfriend went to London Zoo as I’m a big kid inside. As I’m currently at university I don’t get all the family gifts and as I don’t know what I want my parents put my birthday money to one side for when I decide what I want. So if I want something more expensive and nice in a few months they’ll get it for me rather than wasting it now. Saying that I was still spoilt by my boyfriend and besties ect. so here we go.

ZSL London Zoo

LOTR inspired art

My first gift from my boyfriend was the ZSL London Zoo tickets, because his amazing and it was a great day out. He also brought me a beautiful piece of LOTR Inspired artwork which I had spied on etsy a while back. The piece is based on the final chapter of Lord of the Rings: Return on the King as the elves leave middle earth. I love Tolkens world, both the books and the films and I think this is such a beautiful piece with it actually made from the pages of the book, mine are the pages from the battle of the shire.purminerals, ciate & rimmel

Next up is what my best friend at uni got me and I honestly wasn’t expecting anything we were just going to do something together as its both of our 21sts at the weekend. Anyway she brought me Purminerals Holiday Elements set, which is a really cute little set with three looks, and a little travel thing so great for touch ups or going away. I’m excited to try it out as I’ve never tried any purminerals make up before. Then she got me two Ciate Paint Pots in Members Only and Doll Face which are incredibly pretty and great nude go to colours. And finally as she knows I’ve developed an obsession with east end snob by rimmel she picked me up a back up one.swarvoski tennis bracelet

My sister spoilt me this year buying my a Swarovski Tennis Bracelet, its a beautiful piece and I’m so glad to finally have this as an addition to my collection as I’m all for just a few well made piece.

LOTR mug & Chocolate controller

white chocolate and raspberry cupcakes

My best friend from back home brought me a Tolken Inspired Mug, which just adds to my expanding Tolken collection and you can never really have enough mugs. She also brought me a chocolate controller as I said me and my boyfriend need a second controller for his Xbox One, this one is so much better and finally she made some beautiful raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes nomnomnom! Oh and I got malibu.

21st themed gifts

My boyfriends family brought me some lovely 21st themed pieces, starting with a lovely 21st frame which I am filling with a picture from the day. I also got the lovely wooden 21 which I am slowly getting people to sign which is an adorable ideal to remember the occasion.

Hello Kitty Food and Drink

My parents tend to give me money so I am yet to spend that however, my mum every year get me a bunch of jokey presents. She always gets me Hello Kitty stuff without fail, for Christmas I got got Hello Kitty salt and pepper shakers. For my birthday I received a Hello Kitty Pomegranate Iced Tea which I don’t want to drink and have to throw  the can away, as well as an adorable Hello Kitty Cupcake Set. finally She brought me a cute little bear with a 21 badge of course.

So that what I got for my birthday and I am truly thankful for everything I have received and I even have more money to spend which I probably will go on a shopping spree over easter.

Lots of Love

Step One:Place a Layer of tissue paper in the bottom of the box and loosely up the side how neat you wish to do this depends on what effect you want.

Step Two: Wrap up all of your goodies, add extra embellishments or make them all different colours I just chose to keep the whole thing simple with just purple tissue paper.

Step Three: Arrange your box, depending how much you’ve got and the size of the box can really cause a difference in the time this can take. Mine only all just fitted in so it took some doing, if you have extra space just pad it out with additional tissue paper.

Step Four: Close your box, and begin to decorate. I used a 2m length of ribbon and wrapped it round before sticking on a pretty decorative box. And there you go simple but a great personal gift.

Hope you liked the simple but adorable DIY  gift idea if I do any more I’m sure to let you know. However I thought I’d go into a bit more of what I got and how you can get ideas as to what to put into your box. If you’re not interested please press like if you liked the DIY and I’ll be back in a few days.

The Box and Decorations:

HPIM4738

I brought all of these bits from Card Factory so they are all fairly inexpensive, usually they have loads of pretty boxes but at this time of year its hard to find a huge variety so I went for silver glittery box while the purple ribbons and tissue paper is because those are my best friends favourite colour. You can stay simple like this or go for all sorts of fancy embellishments just to doll it up and make it something special.

Gift Ideas One: Gift Sets

HPIM4739:

These bits I picked up in boots half price gift bits in the sale, things like these mean you can get great gifts for a fraction of the price so your money can go further. The Champneys Moisturiser was only £2.00 and the Candle set was £6.00 basically great value for money and were great additions to my pamper set. Sometimes you can split up gift sets for multiple gifts or you can simply take them out and repackage them so they look so much nicer. These two I kept in their respective packaging as it was cute and worked for what I wanted.

Gift Ideas Two: Travel Sized Items

HPIM4741

Travel items are great for these sorts of things, any minis or sample sizes as you can pick a variety especially if you aren’t sure what they like or want to give them a taste of something you’ve loved but don’t now if they will. Therefore they are such a good idea and you can find them everywhere for a variety of prices and are well worth looking into especially as you can get more and it looks like more despite been less.

Gift Idea Three: Make Up/Nail Varnishes

HPIM4742

A bit of beauty is a great thing to slip into any pamper kit and if you aren’t sure exactly what they like nail varnish are a good way to go as you can just pick some pretty colours. I find people are more likely to experiment with pretty colours on their nails than they are to go out of their comfort zone with make up. So stick to fairly safe but pretty neutral tones, or go for pretty nails stuff.

Gift Idea Four: Sachets Yes or No?

HPIM4743

Do you include sachets in these types of things and I think it depends what it is? Hair masks, face masks, and foot packs sure one off items that are a bit special and I think you can. I also think it makes a difference as to what the size of the potted/bottled version against the sachet as if they potted version is too big then there is no point buying the full one. Basically weigh it up in your own head as to whether you think it is worth it.

Hope these gave you a few ideas and if you try this out let me know I’d love to see what your DIY Pamper Boxes look like.

Love
