Empties #9

empties #9

After having such a huge empties last time where I simply spent most of the time running up to creating the post, thinking this is almost done I’ll wait. Then it just seems to add up as I don’t do it monthly I just wait until I consider I have enough. So here we go again, I’m always going to be obsessed with empties posts as I feel as though people can give the best quality reviews once they’ve finished a product and repurchasability (I’m making up words again) of a product is a definite strong recommendation.

Benefit Roller Lash (sample size): I got this back with Elle in I think February, and I saved it for travelling and finally finished it. I have to say it takes a while to get the technique and if I put the effort to use it right my lashes look absolutely amazing otherwise they just look normal. I have manage to find mascaras that work very similar such as the Primark Curl and Lift Mascara, the Benefit is superior but I’m on a budget and I cannot justify the cost of the mascara. Would I repurchase: maybe, if it was on a good offer.

empties ft superdrug Morrison’s Pure Cotton Wool Pads: I’m not sure what to say, these are decent cotton wool pads especially for a low price point. They don’t break up when taking off nail varnish, the only thing is they aren’t as soft as I would have liked feeling fairly abrasive on the skin when using a cleanser or toner. Would I repurchase: I don’t see why not.

Boots Cotton Wool Double Faced Round Pads: These are by far my favourite cotton pads I have ever used, with one padded side which is gentle and good for cleansers etc. While the other side have an exfoliating texture, great for a deeper clean with a toner of micellar water to take off makeup Would I repurchase: yes.

Tesco Everyday Value Facial Wipes: I’ve mentioned these in empties before, my favourite face wipes as they are the best at removing makeup or correcting mistakes yet they are so cheap. I don’t use them for makeup removal that often but recommend having them in your stash just in case. Would I repurchase: Always.

empties ft tesco & morrisons

TRESemme Heat Defence Spray (Travel Size): I did consider refilling this but the spay mechanism is so-so, so I’m more likely to find a new spray bottle and the pour some out from my regular sized bottle. The heat defence spray itself though is amazing and I will never go without it, thus the travel size and it’s great to have a decent sized thing to travel with as it lasts a good while. Would I repurchase: yes, for full size and travel size.

Superdrug Cocoa Brownie for Brunettes Dry Shampoo: Sometimes the white marks with dry shampoo can be really annoying, so I thought I’d buy a dry shampoo aimed at brunettes as I didn’t find colab did anything for me when I tried it. I did actually like this, it didn’t work as well as batiste but it did soak up the grease/oils and refreshed my hair. It is especially useful on days where you need to do your hair 5 minutes before leaving the house as you don’t have to work it in properly. Would I repurchase: possibly.

Elizabeth Arden Pretty (Travel Size): I’m slowly using these up one empties at a time, although at present I am planning to keep the bottles as I think they are so cute and I think I will keep them to display once I get a proper vanity. I never know how to describe the smell of this one it’s just floral and girly, although the official description calls it a ‘Fresh Floral Fragrance’. Would I repurchase: Possibly, a lovely scent but there are definitely ones I prefer.

empties tf primark

Halo Hand Wipes: I brought these for Slam Dunk way back in may for keeping hands clean and hygiene reasons. I then forgot about them for a bit preferring to have anti-bac hand gel in my bag, when I found them I used the remaining ones to clean my hands when apply makeup and tidying everything. They do the job, but tbh for makeup removal and tidying just use a normal facial wipe. Would I repurchase: great for festivals but otherwise I wouldn’t bother.

Vaseline Derma Beauty Deodorant: I’ve never tried a Vaseline deodorant before but it was on offer and I felt as though I didn’t have anything to lose by trying it. It smells nice and works well, I don’t really feel as though there is much to say about a deodorant past the point of it works well and smells nice. Would I repurchase: probably, I’m not too fussy with deodorant.

Cuticura Primark Exclusive Sparking Fruits Hand Gel: I love non sterile smelling hand gels, I don’t know why but I just prefer it, when I saw this I just couldn’t resist and I’ve liked the previous cuticura hand gels that I have tried before. It smells like a delicious fruit cocktail. Would I repurchase: yes.

Superdrug Nail Polish Remover Acetone Free: I’m super unfussy with nail varnish if it does the job I like it, slight downside of the acetone free one is that it can take that bit longer to remove nail varnish. All in all not bad, not great but not bad. Would I repurchase: I wouldn’t rule it out.

There you go another empties, I’m getting so much more determined to use things up by doing empties posts rather than having several items on the go at once. Although I will try to use stuff up no matter how much I like something as I try to make it work, or pass it on.

Graduation Day

I've Graduated

So if you’ve seen my life update, you will have seen I graduated on the 10th September, with a Upper Second Class Honours in Economics from the University of Hertfordshire. It’s a nice little ceremony in St Albans Cathedral, which is a beautiful venue, and I feel like it was such a great event, I thought I’d do a little bit of a post about my outfit, makeup and just some nice snaps from the day.

Graduation Outfit

I didn’t set out to buy a brand new dress for graduation and if I brought something new I wanted to be able to reware it, I own enough clothes as it is, buying more only seems excessive at this point. Yet a few weeks before my graduation I found this super cute tea dress on sale in Apricot for £15.00, irresistibly cute I had to have it. With the graduation sash being white and silver most outfit choices were going to go but I feel as though the mint green pops on this outfit really set it off. I wanted to keep my shoes simple too and nothing too high, so I went for a pair of comfy favourites. I have no idea what brand these are and I’ve had them a few years but they never do me wrong, as a pair of nudes with a cute bow are suitable for all occasions and go with all outfits really, you just can wear black tights with them. I feel like the whole outfit fit the sense of the occasion without being too dressy or anything too much.

With my hair I kept it super simple, I had being tempted to curl it but I didn’t want the curls to drop and I needed a style in which the cap would fit. To me straightened hair seemed the most appropriate it looks nice and I didn’t have to worry about it, just a touch of hair spray in the hope of not getting hat hair and some grips to keep everything in place.

The makeup was all about being long lasting and looking nice in photographs, after all I’ll have these for the rest of my life so looking nice is important and I’ll be full faced in make up for 8 to 10 hours and it needed to remain flawless the entire time. I do have makeup envy of my friend Enxhi who went for it a bit more but then she was topping up her face every hour which seemed to take its toll.

Graduation Makeuo

I went for pretty much double priming my face starting with a very simple base of the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer, which really hydrates and preps the team. Pairing this with my bareMinerals Prime Time Original Foundation Primer, which is my favourite primer and simply put this in the areas where my makeup tends to fade first. For my makeup I decided to opt for my lighter foundation and I know this isn’t that light but my other one is proper full coverage and I was in the mood for a lighter look that the L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation in Rosy Ivory provides. Then obviously to make myself flawless I concealer is needed using the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory under my eyes and where I want it to be brightened. With the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Concealer in Porcelain, covering my blemishes etc. leading to a really flawless face. I didn’t feel like having much colour on my cheeks or extreme bronze etc. so I used my Maybelline New York Color Show Blush Em! which due to its lacking in pigment it just adds a beautiful subtle flush of colour.

Now onto the eyes which because none of the palettes do shadow names its hard to say how I created the look, but I went for a nice transitional brown eyeshadow look as I didn’t want something ott. Obviously I used my trusty Urban Decay Primer Potion, as a based to help it stay where I would be without it, I have no idea. Then I used a combination of the No 7 Mini Eyeshadow Palette and a shade from the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette to create the complete look. To make it a touch more glam I used the champagne glittery loose pigment that is the bareMinerals Eyeshadow in Flawless Diamond which just made it glitter and really set off the look. Finishing it off with lashings of the bareMinerals Flawless Definition Mascara. As I kept putting off buying a setting spray for so long I never did it I used the good old hairspray trick of setting your makeup, which actually works better than setting spray. Although it’s not ideal and you are definitely best leaving it for one offs opposed to everyday. Then to finish it off and to set everything I used the bareMinerals Original Foundation in N10 Fairly Light. Nothing to over the top but mood appropriate.

Graduation Day
The final touch was a pretty manicure which is curtsy of Primark, I wasn’t going to spend loads on getting my nails done, and I didn’t want to keep them on for ages because they aren’t practical for work. These super cute flower detail nails are from Primark and they are simply adorable. They lasted the entire time and I even got a few complements about them.

So that’s what I wore for my graduation, nothing too fancy but something a bit nice. It was a great day and I’m so proud of everyone for getting to this point, it is a little bit odd not to be returning to education this year but I’m working and I’m excited for all the things I can do in life. To those of you who are contining or starting further education, make the most of it enjoy the experience while you can but make sure you work it can influence the rest of your life and it is possible to have fun and do well. I wish you all the best.

Prepping for Holiday

glamorous-and-gorgeous-slc003-pamper-yourself-3003234-0-1329343680000

Of course we all want to look our best while on holiday and I for one am no exception, of course as mentioned I’m only going to Cornwall but as my only holiday this summer. So this is how I make myself beautiful for holiday.

Smooth Legs ft body shop, laura ashley, gillette

Shave and moisturise:

For summer we all want silky smooth skin, especially having beautiful soft silky legs as what else feels that amazing. So to start with I will use and exfoliator such as The Body Shop Blueberry Body Scrub Gelee, which smells so good you could almost eat it. This just removes any dead skin and really sets you up ready for shaving. Then onto the shaving using plenty of Satin Care Pure and Delicate Shave Gel paired with my Gillette Simply Venus Razor in order to achieve a close shave. If I want to be more thorough like I do when going away I tend to do this I will shave

In the sink so nothing gets missed and then jump back in the shower, usually using this time to use a hair mask so it’s not wasted or pointless. In order to keep my skin smooth I’ll use a body butter after shaving, I will always try to use a body butter daily but if all else fails I will use it after shaving. At the moment I am using the sweet floral Laura Ashley Imperial Bloom Body Butter, which is a nice break from my usual fruity Body Shop Body Butters.

fake tan ft johnsons

Even out skin tone

The week before coming away Christ it reached 35C back home however, when the sun comes out I still wear jeans/leggings or more often than not maxi skirts. So My legs and chest tan easily even with a high factor sun block but my legs are super pale so in order to rectify this I cheat. I am awful at traditional fake tan so I tend to opt for a gradual moisturising tanner although this is best when moisturising before still, at the moment I am using the Johnson’s Holiday Skin Lightglow Body Lotion. It may take longer to get the tan but its subtle and looks a lot more natural as you have more control.

Hair ft TRESemme, Body shop & tangle teezer

Silky Smooth Hair

About once a month I will use a hair mask depending on my hair condition but before going on holiday I will use a hair mask without fail. I’ll start washing my hair as normal with my trusty TRESemme Salon Silk Shampoo, just to ensure all the dirt, grime and grease is all removed. I’ve tried other shampoos but nothing leaves my hair as fresh and clean as TRESemme. Then I will pop out the shower squeeze my hair out, brush it through with my Tangle Teezer and even towel a lot of the excess moisture out. I will then take a small amount of The Body Shop Rain Forest Moisture Hair Butter  (read my review for it here), a little goes a long way with this one and I work it on my hands before thoroughly running it through the mid to ends of my hair. After running through my hair I will clip my hair on to the top of my head to keep the conditioner off my back. I then leave it in for 25/20 minutes which is longer than it usually says but it is definitely worth it. During this time I will do something else such as shaving my legs or some face exfoliating, basically using the time effectively.

Pretty Nails:

I like to keep things simple with my nails just one simple and pretty colour for my time away so it isn’t a huge amount of effort. I am using one of my favourites for a while which is the Barry M Speed Quick Dry in Eat My Dust, this is a beautiful pastel blue and I am so in love with it. I have used this with both my hands and feet as I’m so in love with it, a quick drying but long lasting nail polish.

There are some other things I may do but haven’t done this time such as a face mask or some foot TLC it just varies as I don’t always have what I need to hand. So what do you guys do before going away? Do you take the time to prepare of do you just decide it doesn’t matter your on holiday?

Review: Tresemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo

TRESemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo

There are always those days when you really cannot be bothered to wash your hair or simply want a more voluminous style dry shampoo can be your savoir. I’ve tried a lot of different dry shampoos from batiste to colab and various own brands, and although I prefer the smell of the colab dry shampoos I find that batiste definately works better the powdery dry shampoos are much better at absorbing grease ect. I just often find the batiste smell is overpowering and clingy.

So here enters the TRESemme Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo, which is something that I am so surprised that I haven’t bothered trying in the past as if you didn’t already know I am such a Tresemme hair junky. Pretty much everything else I use is Tresemme as it is great value for money and is amazing on my hair I never bother to mix things up. Also like everything else my Tresemme it has that same refreshing smell but it doesn’t cling like other dry shampoos it simply refreshes your hair so you can last that extra day.

Although this is a powder dry shampoo the powder is definitely finer than other dry shampoo, so although you may need to add a little more there’s no risk of ending up with random white patches in your hair and it can easily be brushed out. It sprays evenly and effortlessly and is definitely going to be a permanent part of my dry shampoo collections. I think I will still opt for Batiste for those heavy duty occasions as I feel as though it is more heavy duty but this is definitely a nicer one to use.

The TRESEmme Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo is available from all good retailers, RRP £5.25 but like most TRESemme products is regularly on offer.

What dry shampoos are your favorites, and what would you recommend trying.

Mega Empties Part Two

Mega Empties Part Two

So I had way more empties then it seemed reasonable so my empties got split between two posts,if you wish to see make up and skin care empties check out my other post here. This post with cover bath body and hair. So lets get going so I can finally chuck everything out.

bath and body

Bath and Body

Shea Butter & Peppermint Deep Moisturising Foot Pack: I have no idea what brand these are as my mum picked them up from body care but I also like the ones from home bargains. These work so well on dry cracked feet and are mess free simply stick on the booties and leave on for 15-20 minutes while you so something else. I’m endlessly buying these as they are amazing especially as summer is coming up and you’ll have your feet out more and more.

Gingko Biloba Intensive Rejuvenation Foot Pack: I love foot packs as you can tell, as more and more come out I’m just trying all the different ones out and I haven’t found a bad one yet

Wilkinsons Fruits Rhubarb and Vanilla Fragrance Explosion Bath Bomb: I’ve been curious about these bath bombs for a while as they are so inexpensive and smell great in the packet so seem way better value for money. So they make the bath smell amazing but that seems to be it they don’t change the colour and don’t do anything spectacular to your skin but they are still nice to try and I thoroughly enjoyed using it just to try out but I’m not sure if I’d try again although they are only around the £1.00 mark.

Sanex Sensitive Shower Gel: I don’t know if they still sell these in the same packaging but I will always buy the sensitive version as its my favorite scent and always feels nice on the skin. I cannot think how to explain the smells but its simply sweet and nice. They last ages and well worth trying out.

Radox Nourish Bath Soak with Ginger and Shea Butter: This was the most amazing nourishing bath soak ever my skin felt so smooth and nourished as it did after using this. It didn’t have that many bubbles but I feel like sometimes bubbles aren’t important if it leaves your skin feeling amazing afterwards. It’s also so soothing and relaxing after a long day so perfect with a few candles and a good book (or a text book, the joys of final year). I may repurchase it but I’m never loyal to bubble baths/bath soaks and like to mix it up but I may rebuy it at some point I definitely wouldn’t turn it down.

The Body Shop Vanilla Brulee Body Butter: This was one of the Body Shops Christmas scents and as its vanilla i wanted it, I received the set as a gift from my boyfriend parents. It was lovely and it is a shame that it was only a Christmas scent as I prefer this to the regular vanilla scent.

haircare batiste and tresemme

Hair

TRESemme Smooth Salon Silk Shampoo and Conditioner (both 900ml): These have lasted absolutely months and they are my all time favorite shampoo and conditioner I barely use anything else as they leave my hair feeling super clean and amazing. They do smaller bottles but the bigger ones are better value for money especially as I stock up on when they are like 2 for £5 or half price which is always possible simply due to how long they last you can always wait for the right offer. I like the other offers but salon silk is by far my favorite great quality and amazing value for money.

TRESemme Colour Revitalise Colour Protection Treatment Masque: I’ve had this for ages but being a 500ml tub it just never stops going its just so good. I don’t know if they still do this one so I’m going to keep an eye out for it.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Travel Sized in Blush: I’ve had this since last summer, tending to opt for the travel sizes as I rarely use dry shampoo, this smells really nice and batiste always do great dry shampoos. I have discovered that dry shampoo definitely works best putting it in the night before but then it depends why you are using it.

candles

Candles

Matalan Vanilla Sugar Candle: I love vanilla candles and this one from matalan was amazing kicking off loads of scent which was a really sweet vanilla. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn’t burn evenly so a lot of the candle is wasted which is a shame.

Primark Pineapple and Ginger Candle: I’m still undecided on this scent as I don’t know if I like it or not as its very different to what I usually go for but these smaller candles are only £0.80 so it wasn’t a waste. I don’t think I will repurchase it but it was nice to try something new.

Primark Sweet Berry and Patchouli Candle: I loved this just a lovely berry scent which is more subtle rather than over powering, it looks pretty with the little top and everything it is well worth trying out if you go to primark.

Phew I’m done, no more empties at least for now and hopefully not for a while. What have you been trying and loving at the moment.

Lots of Love

Review: The Body Shop Rain Forest Moisture Hair Butter

the body shop rain forest hair butter

Hi Everyone,

Another review for you guys today and its hair related this time, something where I tend to stick with what I know and love but the other day I ran out of my TRESemme hair treatment mask which has lasted me ages, and thought I’d try something new. I then popped into The Body Shop Outlet to pick up a few things and saw these, I picked up the smaller sizes as hair masks seem to last ages.

the body shop rain forest hair butter

I’ve tried it twice since I brought it and I think I have learnt how best to do it as a lot of the reviews online said oh it disappears as you rub it in and oh it leaves you hair sticky with a residue. The first time I used loads like I usually do with a hair mask smothering the ends of my hair and kept it in for the 5 minutes and like the instructions says. This left my hair feeling awful like I hadn’t fully washed it out although I know I thoroughly washed it out which was really weird. So I made sure when I washed my hair I used a clarifying shampoo to make sure it was fully clean.

The second time I used it I literally used the amount of 2p added a small bit of water and ran it thoroughly through my hair and brushed it through with a wet hair comb before clipping all of my hair up on the top of my head. This time I left it for twenty minutes while I did some household chores, then washed it out. I had no remaining residue although initially my hair felt no differently however, once dry it was a lot shiner and looked better, it just didn’t feel any better.  Which is a major disappointment especially for a body shop products which are usually amazing that this was so-so, I will continue to use it as I hate for these things to got to waste but I would’t repurchase it or recommend it to a friend.

I don’t agree with the reviews on the body shop website, you just have to use it in a different way to other mask masks its much thicker and stickier. It smells amazing and I love the thicker texture of the hair butter thus feeling much more substantial than most other hair masks but it just didn’t live up to my expectations. So leave The Body Shop for all of its other amazing products and I love the other hair ranges too like the banana shampoo but if you see this just skip it and spend your money on something else.

The Body Shop Rain Forest Moisture Hair Butter is available in 50ml and 200ml, priced at £3.00 and £8.00 respectively at The Body Shop.

So have you tried The Body Shop Rain Forest Hair Butter’s what did you think of them? What hair butters/masks are you loving as I really want to try a new one.

Have you tried the

Review: Veet Face Precision Wax and Care

Veet_Face_Precision_Wax

Hi guys, a slightly different type of review today with a focus on hair removal, well all do it but never seem to talk about it. After recommendation from my boyfriends sister of a DIY eyebrow fix and I thought I’d do a mini review, just incase some of you were interested.

The pack comes with a tube which contains the wax which has a lip gloss tip applicator and after care cream on the other side, a spatula and a pack of strips to help with removal. basically everything you may possibly ever require for hair removal. It can be used on for your eye brows lips or chin depending on you problem area and just take a few simple steps for hair removal. I’ve only used it for eyebrows so far so I can only review from that point of view.

So using it is fairly straight forward, simply boil the kettle and fill a mug with boiling water and leave for 1 minute and the wax melts. Then you simply decide what area you want, separate the hairs out if needs be and apply the wax and then place over the strip. The wax applicator is like a plastic lip gloss applicator which works so nicely at spreading out the wax and is amazingly accurate. Press down the strip, wait a second and pull! It didn’t really hurt I was amazing and managed to pull out a good amount of hair. I repeated it a few times, the only thing it didn’t work well at is shorter hairs but it does say in the instructions that it is less effective on hairs that are under 5mm, which is a disclaimer and it does do shorter hairs. Yet you may need to pull out the tweezers for a final bit of touch up, which isn’t that much effort. Ones your gone simply wash off any residue and apply the after care lotion, pretty straight forward really.

The strips you could probably cut in half, but there are 20 in a pack so will probably last ages anyway. It does say you can was them, and then if you leave them to dry you can reuse them but I feel as though it is more effort then its worth as there is plenty in the pack and you can buy just packs wax stripes that you can cut down accordingly. There is an adequate supply in the pack though so I think it is probably fine.

It worked so much better than I thought it would which is amazing, I definitely would recommend trying it if you want an at home facial hair solution.

Empties #5

1

As I seem to go through phrases of empties everything I own seems to be running out out of everything simultaneously at the moment in massive lumps and chunks. I think it seems like more as everything that seems to last forever have run out at a similar time so its a big bunch. Anyway you guys know the drill, you look at my rubbish and I give you guys a mini review of it. So I apologise that it hasn’t been long since my last empties these things happen as I’ve had so many empties lately.

5

Make Up

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer for Dry & Sensitive Skin: I absolutely love this stuff, it will forever be a part of my make up routine. I am indifferent to the normal vs. sensitive so I just pick up what ever is there or on offer as I have normal to dry skin and they both work amazingly. I had dreadfully dry skin over the start of the year and this was such a life saver just adding a super moisturising base for my make up.

Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool: I’ve had this for ages but kept putting off using for ages as it had cracked but at home its not that messy to use and I have so many opened pressed powders I thought I just need to use it. This used to be my favourite before trying the Collection Pressed Powder, it is still a great powder and is really inexpensive I just much prefer the collection powder and as Superdrug is more convenient to me so its easier to grab collection.

Collection Pressed Powder in 18 Ivory: As I’ve mentioned above this is my all time favourite powder and I’ve already go a replacement, it is nice they go so light with the powder colours but it doesn’t look to chalky or white on the skin. If you are a pale girl I suggest trying it as it is only £2 ish.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair: This is one of those beauty blogging super hyped products that is actually worth it. It has such a high coverage and blends so easily, I’m not keen on this for under the eyes but its perfect for covering up blemishes. The only thing I hate about concealers in this style is the packaging as you can easily tell that there is loads of product left but you cannot possibly reach it.

NYC Cover Stick in Light: This one sucked its so thick, my mum has it and over summer I used it and it was amazing but I couldn’t seem to get it to work. Maybe I got a dud one but it doesn’t bother me too much as it was so inexpensive its not like I wasted a ton of money but I’ll stick to other concealers from now on.

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist: I got this for event work last summer to try and help my make up last all day when rushing around. I have less of a need for it so I’ve been using it for my long ass day at university and work or for special nights out. For £5.00 this was great as it really helped my make up last and I think I may repurchase although as I do not currently have a need I haven’t bothered yet.

Bath and Body:

The Face Shop Sparkling Wine Face Mask: This was another little Canadian treat from Danielle and I just this a relaxing bath treat before my birthday. I love using face masks and I think I’ve been converted to small packeted and paper/cloth ones. This also smelt like fanta grape which is a huge plus in my head.

Sweet Snuggles Vanilla Bath Fizzles: I picked these up cheaply from Superdrug as I’m not allergic to them and I love vanilla. However they were a bit of a dud they added nothing to the bath no smell, change to water or anything which kinda sucks but it was worth trying maybe I’ll find something better elsewhere or I’ll stick too loads of bubble bath.

Ted Baker London Body Souffle: This was another little thing I got in my gift set for chirstmas from my sister and I love the scent its so pretty, in case you were wondering its rose and sandlewood. I’ve just been using it after my shower most mornings and it simply soaks into the skin leaving it silky smooth and smells awesome. I might buy a full size on its own at a later date once I’ve used up all of my body shop body butters up.

Dove Go Fresh Anti-Perspirant in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena: I love this deodorant and I think I’ve had this in an empties before its simply my go to I love Dove products and deodorants and this by far is my favourite one. To be fair there isn’t much more to say.

Sanex Zero 24 Hour Deodorant: I have no idea if this is TMI or not but when I used to shave my under arms they used to get really irritated and I know you aren’t technically meant to use deodorant after shaving so I use this every few days when I shave under my arms so I’m protected and I’m no longer irritated.

6

Hair

TRESemme Heat Defence Spray: These bottles always seem to take forever to use up even though I use it every single time I put heat on my hair from using my hair dryer to straightening my hair. This stuff works so well and I always make sure I have a back up, I even have a travel sized one for holidays as its just that good and the travel sized ones are adorable.

Have you tried any of these products if so what do you think and what have you be loving at the moment?

Impromptu Mini Haul

mini haul

So I popped down the road to pick up something for my parents for my sisters birthday from the shopping centre which is half outlet shops, half regular shops and as always I could not resist buying  a few pieces.

superdrug face mask & colab dry shampoo

Superdrug

Superdrug Purifying Cucumber Peel-Off Mask: I’m completely out of face masks and I just thought I’d pick up a few of the sachet ones as they were 3 for 2. I love peel of masks as my face always feels so clean afterwards and I picked cucumber as I wanted it to be fresh feeling afterwards. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.

Superdrug Tropical Cocktail Peel-Off Mask: Another peel off mask but this time its a fruity variety but its absolutely lovely. I think this is definitely more of multi-tasking mask rather than a relaxing type day as its more zesty but great for a little bit of TLC regardless. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.

Superdrug Yoghurt Smoothie Mask: This is my perfect pamper treat it a lovely hot deep bath, a couple of youtube videos and it is pretty much a perfect night in. I’m really looking forward using this at the weekend after my final coursework deadline. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.

Mini Colab Dry Shampoo in New York: This was actually something I needed and I’ve been curious about the colab range but thought I’d pick up a mini just in case I don’t like it. Also it lasts me ages even just a mini because I use it so infrequently but I excited to try a clear dry shampoo. Let me know what you think of the colab dry shampoos if you have tried them before and what you think off them.

The Body Shop Minatures

The Body Shop Outlet

Yes I have a body shop outlet a 10 minute walk away from my student house and I absolutely love that fact. In body shop outlets they tend to have most of the usual range as well as some discontinued stuff and just a general array, the best thing about it is all the miniatures (you’ll see some of them below) so when I book my holiday I’m going to stock up on a few simply because they smell delicious. Anyway how the outlet body shop works is some stuff is normal priced while other bits are reduced but the big discounts are from making multi-buys. Save 30% when you buy two, save 35% what you buy 3 and save 40% when you buy 4 or more so if you pop in to buy one thing you’re better to pick up another little something that’s cheap then you make major savings. Anyway on to my mini haul.

The Body Shop Almond Hand and Nail Cream: This was a repurchase as I’m running out of the one that lives in my bag. This is the smaller size as even though the massive one is better value for money this is a much better hand bag size which is when I tend to use it out and about on the go. Also this smells absolutely amazing, it reminds me of bake well tart so absolutely delicious. I am aware they now have hand cream in all the favours which have the same silky feel put I prefer the more subtle comforting smell of the almond one and I think I will continue using it for years to come. Available from The Body Shop for £5.00.

The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter for Dry Hair: So this is essentially a hair mask which smells divine and I am so excited to give it a go at some point. Once again I have gone for the smaller 50ml pot which will at least last two washes and with the 40% of was only £1.80 anyway so what you’d pay for a sachet hair mask anyway. The reviews seem mixed so I’m highly interested to find out more about it. Available from The Body Shop for £3.00.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner and Vitamin E Cream Cleanser (60ml): Two more travel sized options but I have loved these when I’ve used these in the past and with trips in the summer and travelling for job interviews I thought it would be a great idea to pick up some miniatures so my skin care routine doesn’t have to suffer when I’m away. Available from The Body Shop for £3.50 each.

As I brought 4 items I managed to save 40% this costing me only £9.00 instead of £15.00.

So what little bits have you picked up recently? Have you picked up any bargains recently?

February Favourites

feb faves

It’s that time again February favourites and I found it really hard to come up with a list of favourites this month so tried to take note of what I’ve been reaching for again and again this month to come up with my list.

The Body Shop Lip Butter Mango: With chapped lips being common place in winter due to extremes of hot and cold lip butter is a must, and this one is simply delicious. I tend to use this at the end of the day at the end of my skin care routine but I’ll use it more if my kinds need a little bit more TLC.

The Body Shop Body Scrub in Blueberry: I love the blueberry scents and I wanted a softer scent than the Soap and Glory scrub but that worked just as well and this definitely does. This is one of those body shop scrubs that looks like jam and smells amazing, it doesn’t taste amazing though my boyfriend tried it. I use this every couple of days and my legs feel so soft and silky. I’m loving it although the blueberry scents are limited edition so once it runs out I’ll stock up, if I can’t I’ll try a different scent in this range.

Benefits Roller Lash Mascara:  This is the sample version I got free with Elle this month and I love it, I’m still debating over buying the full version of it as I cannot justify spending £19.50 on a mascara especially as I use it up in a few months, anyone else think this? I love it, it adds amazing curl but I’m a student and work part time it’s 3 hours wages. I can justify on spending more on long lasting products like eye shadow especially a naked palette where it can create so many different looks with. Anyway enough rambling what do you think?

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Lyche: I’m one of those girls that always has to have my nails done but I cannot always be bothered to constantly touch my nails so this nude has been my go to. I love the Barry M Gelly formulas they look amazing and go on so easily and look amazing.

Umberto Giannini Miracle Worker with Argan Oil: I’m loving hair oils at the moment, they are keeping my hair silky and in amazing condition at the moment. I have three hair oils on the go at the moment but this is the one I’ve been reaching for most often although I guess hair oils in general should be a monthly favourite.

Bonus Favourite: Lilies

So as we all known February meant Valentines day and my boyfriend brought me two bouquets of lilies to mix together my traditional favourite of while lilies with the prettiest pink ones too, I love it.

So not much make up this month as its either stuff I am still trailing or are just my go to stuff that I am always loving. What have you been loving in February and what are you looking forward to in march?
