Top 5 Lip Products Under £5.00

Top 5 lip products

I thought I would start to do a bunch of top 5s, sharing the top 5 makeup products within a certain category although the schedule and frequency of the posts yet. Here we look at my favourite lip products that are all under £5, as who doesn’t like to look good on a budget. I feel like all of these have been mentioned before, but here is me declaring my love for them

P.s. Love Matte Long Lasting Lipstick in Whisper

First up is one that initially I had a love hate relationship with loving the colour but often finding it drying. That is the P.S. Love Matte Long Last Lipstick in Whisper, which you can see my full review here it is a muted purple pink and is a great neutral colour with a little bit of a oomph. It works well with a range of makeup looks and as long as you moisturise before and after you will be fine. Available from Primark for £1.00.

mua lipstick in14 bare

Staying in line with neutral we now have the ultimate everyday nude, the Makeup Academy Lipstick in 14 Bare. Rich, creamy and opaque this lipstick is a dream to apply and wear, with only minor touch ups every couple of hours if you wish but due to the nature of the colour and the fact it fades evenly meaning you don’t have to touch up. I also love MUA lipsticks as they have a great formula and a really affordable price point they are great for trying new things out. Available from Superdrug and online for £1.00.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob

I’m going to brief with the third one in the list, the Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner in 63 East End Snob. I know there’s been a lot of hype and love for this item, and it’s often sold out in stores but it’s such a perfect muted pink colour. It goes with a lot of other lip colours but looks amazing on its own and as a lip liner it lasts all day, you can find my full review for it here. Available from Boots and Superdrug etc. for £3.99.

Rimmel London Lipstick in 08

This next Rimmel one is a total cheat as I am so in love with it I’ve slipped it in as it’s over budget. The Rimmel London Kate Moss Long Lasting Lipstick in 08, is a creamy pink colour which I really struggle to explain. It is my go to colour, no matter what makeup stand I’m at I pick up this kind of shade but this is by far my favourite lipstick I own of this shade type as it’s so smooth and comfortable on the lips. Available from Boots and Superdrug etc. for £5.49.

I am finishing off with The Body Shop Mango Lip Butter, the best tip balm/treatment I have ever used and it is so affordable. I use this twice a day and it keeps dry and cracked lips at bay, also it smells amazing, so if you have dry lips look no further than the body shop. Available from The Body Shop for £4.00.

So those are my top 5 lip products for near enough £5.00, all amazing products which are really affordable. And if you need any more excuses to be enabled and to go shopping, buying and trying everything on this list would cost you £15.48! You’re welcome.

Whats in My Bag? Spring 2016

It’s been a long time since I’ve done my normal ‘What’s in my Bag’ post but they are such a traditional and nice post to do, it feels like a shame not to do one. If you want to see previous editions including “What’s in My Compact Bag?”  or “What’s in my Festival Bag”  click on each one respectively, or check out all of my past ones here. I don’t think what I keep in my bag tends to change but I always think this is an interesting thing to find out what people lug around, do they carry their whole life in their bag or if they have such a streamlined organised bag and I can do nothing but look on in amazement.

whats in my bag - new look duffle bag

Let’s start with a little bit about the bag itself, I got it as a gift for Christmas and it was greatly received as I wanted a more slouchy type of bag but that was still a practical size and I love this. It is the New Look Pin Stud Duffle Bag, which is a suede type texture and obviously stud detailing it has a super long adjustable strap so you can really make it work for you. It has one internal side pocket and other than that is a good sized space to ram everything in. I’m not someone that has to carry everything but I need some space at least.

the essentialswhats in my bag - essentials

So first up are the usual bag essentials which we might as well get away starting with my phone and keys, my keys are huge so they are easy to find. Another must is my purse, which is a Primark Purse from summer 2014 and it just has everything in it from cards to receipts all in their own special section. I also keep a reusable shopping bag in there at all times, seeing as there is now the bag charge so it’s handy if I pick something up unexpectedly.

keeping organisedwhats in my bag - organisation

With a full time job and a blog I like to make tons on lists and note everything in order to help me stay on top of things. I have my personal planner with my pen attached so I don’t use it, I love this planner to death. (If you want to see an indepth view of my planner click here). As well as my planner I have my blogging note book, to help me make notes on current posts, post ideas and check my blog schedule.

just a little vainwhats in my bag - makeup

I keep thinking about getting a small makeup bag, but as I just carry powder and my current lip product is I just used the inside pocket for now. So I carry my Ruby & Millie Kabuiki Brush, Collection Pressed Powder in Ivory and an assortment of lip stuff. So with no rhyme or reason I have 5 different lip products at the moment including: YSL Volupte Rouge in Lush Coconut, BareMinerals Marvolous Moxie Lipstick in Be a Star, P.S. Love Matte Long Lasting Lipstick in Whisper, The Body Shop Lipstick in (I can never remember), Rimmel London Appocalips Lip Lacquer in Nova. Got a good mix of colours, finishes and budgets for once, and I can change it up during the day.

the bag of useful bits

Finally I have a little (or maybe not so little) Ted Baker Makeup Bag which holds all of my ‘essential’ or useful bits to have in your bag. Most importantly there is medication such as my inhaler, allergy medication and painkillers as well as the basics such as plasters (my friends love me for these) as well as tissues. The usual girly must haves such as hair ties and hair grips, although I tend to go for hair ties as I’m most likely to want to keep my hair out of my way. As well as the not such important but always wanted Peach Delight Hand Gel, Ted Baker Lip Balm, Ted Baker Body Spray and Molton Brown Coco & Sandalwood Body Lotion which to me are all pretty self-explanatory. As one pair never seems enough I have two pairs of headphones and finally a little random but I find them endlessly useful in the form of the Primark Footlets.

So what do you carry in your bag? Let me know in the comments below or link me you ‘what’s in my bag’ post I adore reading them.

Empties #8

Empties #8

Another empties for you again today, something that I feel as though I am always doing so I like to spread them out and they end up backing up. Saying that I am unsure if I would want to do a monthly empties as I feel as though it might be loads one month and nothing the next. My current method I feel as though works as I make the post when it feels worth it to do so, so let me know what you think monthly empties or when I have a significant amount of empties. This is a long once so brace yourself.

makeup empties

Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light: This was a huge dud for me, not only was it was too dark but the texture was completely wrong for me, making my skin look dried out and barely blending. I was initially put off by the too dark colour but tried it anyway for review purposes, I was so disappointed I never got round to the review. I finally managed to finish it by using it as a eyeshadow primer as its still a better primer that the soap and glory eyeshadow primer and I hate wasting my money.

Would I repurchase this: bottom line, no. There are way better stick concealers out there or even doe foot concealers in the drug store for much less.

Soap and Glory It’s About Prime Eyeshadow Primer: This was another Soap and Glory dud and if you’ve gathered from above it was useless. It barely extended the life of my eyeshadow and worst of all it made primers that didn’t crease previously, crease when using this underneath. Also for the same price you can get a travel sized Urban Decay Primer Potion, and the urban decay travel sized contains more. So spend your money on the urban decay primer potion faultless and it costs the same. I don’t know if the other colour is better as I have the nude champagne colour but I’m not willing to try.

Would I repurchase this: another rather obvious no, opt for urban decay travel size as mentioned above same price for slightly more.

Off topic but am I the only one who Soap and Glory products don’t work for, I haven’t tried the brow products and the bronzer is alright. I think it is an occasion where it is a brand that doesn’t work for me but if it works for you go for it. Still there skin care and bath products are in general really good but I think I won’t bother with the makeup anymore.

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer: I’m still not sure who recommended this one to me and it was you I’m so sorry, this is amazing. My favourite primer is still probably my bareMineral primer but this is way more affordable and will be one that I will continue to purchase. A thick cream primer that just sets up your skin nicely and meshs well with other Rimmel Foundations. Personally I find that Rimmel does some of the best foundations within the drug store, does anyone else find this?

Would I repurchase this: most definitely.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory: This is a great concealer and a good level of brightening as it is the wake me up formula, it is definitely more of under eye rather than a spot concealer due to the brightening properties but it’s a very good drug store concealer.

Would I repurchase this: yes I already have a second one.

Saiva Med Lip Care: I’ve had this for ages and its started to look a bit off so I’m getting rid of it. It has no scent but is great at treating and hydrating the lips and I’m trying to look out for another one, only problem is my mum picked it up in Lidli so I might have to get looking online.

Would I repurchase this: If I ever find it again yes, great for treating damaged lips.

P.S. Love Egg Shaped Makeup Sponge: This has done me since February/March time I think but it’s got passed its best and it just looks worse for wear every time I attempt to clean it. Although it is fairly firm I really love applying my make up with this it just blends everything so easily and helps me look flawless.

Would I repurchase this: I already have.

skincare empties

Lacura Facial Cleansing Wipes for Normal Skin: These I picked up from Aldi on a whim as I thought tesco had stopped doing their everyday wipes but magically they are back. These were alright as far as wipes go and they were relatively inexpensive although I cannot remember the exact price, less than £1.00 anyway. Generally really good and managed to move most of the makeup. Good for if you want to take makeup off before doing a proper routine later or just to clean up your face part way through the day if it’s a bit grimy.

Would I repurchase: probably, not in a rush to repurchase but I wouldn’t not get them again.

Superdrug Deep Action Anti-Blemish Gel: Most of my skin problems are hormonal, time of the month and all that, so I cannot prevent them and all I really have to do is make an effort to reduce them. This is where this came in handy, in order to reduce spots especially the big ones that seem to magically appear and you think you’d need a miracle to get rid of them. Sure they aren’t magically gone in 12 hours but when does that ever happen. It does however, significantly reduce the amount of time it’s there.

Would I repurchase: Yes, I already have but I always wait until superdrug has a regular offer such as 1/3-1/2 off own brand skincare.

Superdrug Deep Cleansing Facial Sheet Mask: I love sheet masks as they are so simple yet this was a bit of a miss for me, I love there refreshing sheet mask. This semi stung when it tingled and smelt like old talcum powder, yeah so basically not worth it.

Would I repurchase: No way!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser and The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner (Travel Sizes/60ml): I am doing these as a pair as I’m only used these as a pair, I have mentioned them in previous posts and I really enjoy them. I am not sure how to describe the scent but it’s very subtle, and they go on so smooth and easily leaving your skin feeling amazing. Also they are highly effective at removing makeup

Would I repurchase: probably.

Simple Kind to Skin + Brightening Eye Makeup Remover Pads: I got these for travelling which you will be able to see in my travel toiletries post here. These are so-so they do a decent job at removing makeup but not perfect, I prefer the Halo eye makeup remover pads. They are good for travel and not a bad buy. Yet with the travel size make up removers and cleansers becoming more common I think I am less likely to buy these sorts of things while travelling.

Would I repurchase: unsure.

deoderant empties

It is somewhat worrying that I have enough deodorants to warrant to move them out of random and move them in to a section of them own. To be honest two of them are miniatures which makes it slightly better.

Sanex Dermo Pro Hydrate Anti-Perspirant Deodorant: I think this was in my last empties too as I brought them on a multi-buy offer, I am not loyal to any one deodorant I just tend to buy what’s on offer. Yeah its alright and does its job there isn’t much to say.

Would I repurchase: yeah why not.

Dove Go Fresh Anti-Perspirant in Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena (Travel Size): Although these travel sized ones aren’t value for money, I find them so irresistible and cute I cannot help buying them. Also in the summer months it’s sometimes nice to keep one in your bag because you know sweat. This is my all-time favourite deodorant scents and I regularly buy the full size version of this.

Would I repurchase: Yes!

Sure Women Long Lasting Protection in Bright (Travel Size): I never normally get sure products but I wanted another miniature and this seemed like the best option. I actually thoroughly enjoyed it and might look to try more sure deodorants in future:

Would I repurchase: Probably.

random empties

Colgate FluriGard Daily Rinse: I love this mouth wash, it really freshens your breath and cleans your mouth. I know most of the time all mouth washes do the same thing and this is on the pricier side of mouth wash but I couldn’t imagine using anything else. It was first recommended to me by my orthodontist when I got my braces when I was 10/11, so yeah I’ve been using this for a good 10 years now I’m not going back now.

Would I repurchase: Definitely.

Nailene Ultra Quick Nail Glue: I tend to buy primark nails as they are so pretty and tend to be well made, especially for £1-£2.00 per set but the glue is a bit so-so. Therefore I buy this amazing nailene glue, it really does the job and takes ages to dry up so I can take ages between wearing false nails. Highly recommend it for whatever nails you buy and buying this for one set of Primark nails is cheaper than buying an elegant touch set and they look just as good.

Would I repurchase: Definitely.

Quite a healthy mix of empties this time. Have you tried any of these products and if so what did you think of them.

Morrison’s Sensitive Aloe Vera Shave Gel: I’ve gone through a number of these now and I know it has appeared in a few empties, it is a brilliant inexpensive shave gel and leaves my legs soft and smooth. This is a staple in my bathroom cabinet.

Would I repurchase: I always do.

Gillette Satin Care Pure & Delicate Shave Gel: I actually liked having the smaller size for ease of travel, meaning I could keep having soft legs while away as I feel like shave gel makes such a different. I will definitely look a pick up the smaller sizes if I’m going away again it is definitely worth it.

Would I repurchase: yes.

Cussons Carex Complete Strawberry Laces Refreshing Hand Gel: I think I have mentioned it before that I don’t like alcohol smelling gels. This didn’t smell like strawberry laces but it had that synthetic strawberry scent and I really enjoyed it, other than the smell it’s a hand gel and does its job a definate must in my bags.

Would I repurchase: yes but I’m not fused by what my hand gel I have as long as I have one.

Argan Oil Deep Moisturising Foot Pack: I love foot packs but this one left my feet feeling super odd, I think I’ll go back to the peppermint or tea tree foot packs from now on.

Would I repurchase: no.

Phew! That’s everything and it can now all go into my recycling, well everything that is recyclable of courses. Have you tried any of these and what did you think of them.

What’s in My Bag: Compact Edition

What's in my bag

I’m am definitely guilty of carrying around with a huge bag filled with junk, although I’m at university 3/4 days a week and often go straight from class to work so a huge bag is needed to carry notes, laptop, work clothes ect. you name it, its probably in there. Sometimes though a huge bag gets in the way and you just want something small when you don’t need a lot so here’s wants in my travelling light bag, a very refreshing change.

2

1

So the bag is a beautiful little thing I picked up in the sale section for £4.00 you can see it in my random haul here. It is just a perfect compact size just enough to fit in your essentials and it really stops you from packing too much. I also love the fact you can detach the straps so you can use it as a clutch if so desired or you can change up the strap up a bit so it can be a versatile bag. I’m very glad I picked it up and cannot wait to trade in my over sized  bag to something a bit more manageable.

3

Lipbalm: Rimmel London Keep Calm Lip Balm in 010 Clear (Keep Calm and Shop): A lip balm is always important to keep in your bag although it is something I always change up. At the moment I have this fun rimmel one, it comes in other colours which are tinted but I tend to prefer a clear one to keep in my bag for general use. I also love how easy this one is to find as it is so vibrant.

Tissues: Superdrug Ultra Balm (10 pack): Tissues are always a must whether you need to clean up spills or the usual purpose you need tissues. Plus they barely take up any room and are actually a useful piece of clutter.

Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel: Cussons Carex Complete Fun Edition Strawberry Laces: Another must for someone on the go hand sanitizer for whenever you need it, whether you out and about and just need a refresher, also a must for public transport or grabbing food on the day. At the moment I have this delicious smelling strawberry laces one which is absolutely amazing, I tend to opt for flavors as I prefer a bit of a scent as opposed to the sterile scent.

Phone: An obvious inclusion in every bag, a phone. All I have added to it is this cute simple purple phone case which I picked up for £0.99 off ebay as all I wanted was something simple to protect it.

Keys: Once again another little obvious addition to any bag, they do take a little bit of room simply due to the size of my key ring however, in a bigger bag I find this essential also I absolutely love it as I think its so cute.

Lipstick: Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Sheer Candy (in 01 Lush Coconut): As I don’t have the luxury of having endless lip products in my bag to not only mix up my look but because I’m too lazy to keep taking my lip products our apart from when I need them. As I needed to slim it down I’m mainly going to keep this in my bag adding a subtle nude colour and a nice shine its perfect as a gloss/lipstick combination and due to its natural colour it goes with everything. Also the YSL lipstick are so light and comfortable I cannot wait to expand my collection.

Card Holder/Small Purse: I would usually choose to keep my card ect in one of these but unfortunately I don’t have either as the card holder I brought on ebay got lost in the post and I don’t really have a small purse to put in it as most of my purses are bigger than the bag. I will hopefully get one by the time I really need one.

Have you thought about downsizing your bag and if so what would you keep and what would you eliminate? It is so nice not to be weighed down with junk.

Lots of Love

Make Up Collection Part Two

So on Saturday I uploaded the first half of this and here is the rest of my make up collection that is here with me at university.

DSCF4250

Sleek Face Form in Light: This is the ultimate drug store contour kit when you get the hang of it, pretty much everything your face in one place especially with such a beautiful blush and all 3 work together and blend so easily.

The Body Shop Extra Virgin Mineral in 102 Natural Ivory: This wasn’t a great foundation for me but I’ve almost hit pan and i’m mixing it with moisturiser and trying to make it work for me so it wasn’t £16.00 wasted.

Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer Classic: I use this daily in my t zone and cheeks just generally where I want my make up to last longer, it leaves a matte finish and feels amazing. The only downside is it is a little expensive for a drugstore silicon based primer but I would repurchase if its the best in the drug store.

MUA Blushes in Bon Bon and Lolly: These are near enough identical which is my fault as I brought one loved in went to buy another and clearly love that tone so much I brought a near identical one. These are incredible blushes though especially for only £1.00 each.

A very old Natural Collection Shimmer Powder.

Wet n Wild Natural Wear Pressed Powder in Ivory: I bought this at cosmetic fairy over the summer and it is slightly too dark for my natural collection however, its a lovely quality powder and I’ll break it out next summer when i have a slight natural tan.

Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool: This used to be my go to powder now I tend to opt for Collections but I still love it, the only reason its not been used as much is because I dropped it and its smashed so it’s definitely more of an apply at home thing than touch up at home. Good if you’re on a budget though.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory: This unfortunately I got screwed over by feel unique as this was meant to be try me and it wasn’t, as when I asked where my sample was to test the colour I was told rudely it wasn’t one offered under try me despite it been advertised as try me. Regret buying it for feel unique as it is too dark but I’ve made doo mixed it with another foundation as it definitely add more CC to my standard foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Light Porcelain: A true pale girl foundation and it leaves a perfect dewy brightening foundation that keeps you looking radiant and awake. Love this so much.

Make Up Academy Pressed Powder in Light: I bought this for travelling over the summer to keep in my bag for touch ups as for £1.00, its such a good powder and ideal to keep in my bag.

Collection Pressed Powder in Ivory: I have way too many pressed powders don’t I? This is by far my favourite pressed powder I’ve gone through so many and next time I’m in Superdrug/Boots as I’m hitting pan and I cannot live without it.

YSL Fusion Ink Foundation Sample: Totally lost my piece of paper with my colour on however, as its winter its too dark as I got matched for my colour about two days after coming back from holidaying in the south of france.

Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light: So yeah I don’t like it but I’m determined to use it as a concealer is useful especially as a pencil to stick in my bag.

Make Up Academy Cover and Conceal Wand In Light: This is great for covering small blemishes but is slightly on the watery side but its a £1.00 concealer and highly workable.

DSCF4253

Avon Eyeshadow Duo in Warm Cashmere: A beautiful natural matte duo that is perfect for everyday, forgot about it for a while brought  it back out the other day and been wearing it a lot since.

The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes in Warm: Perfect for a brown smoky eye, brilliant amount of product and lovely shadows, only downside is that its £16.00 for 4 eyeshadows.

MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara in Black Brown: I simply adore this mascara it’s essentially everything I’d ever want in a mascara, never going to go without this again.

Soap and Glory Its About Prime Eyeshadow Primer: Essentially just trying to use this up so I can open up my urban decay primer potion.

Rimmel Glam Eyes: The labels come of the back and I got it in a pound shop but its a lovely quad of colours only problem is some of the colours are tricky to use due to all the plastic dividers.

Make Up Academy Colour Blast Eyeshadow Tint in Stay and Girl Like Me: These are great for lazy days to add a wash of colour or use as a base for something else, definitely recommend and basically a touch up essential. It’s also essential for those who likes to sleep in just run over your eyelids as you run out the door.

Barry M Showgirl Mascara: This was a gift with purchase that I haven’t actually got round to using it as I’m getting better at not having 3/4 mascaras on the go at once. I will post a review possibly when I get round to trying it out.

Collection Colour Kohl Black Magic: My all time favourite eyeliner that I don’t think I will ever find a good replacement for and actually as its only £1.99 what is the point in trying to find something better.

DSCF4252

Make Up Academy Lip Lacquer in Tranquility: This is really the ultimate velvet/matte lip product, it honestly lasts ages and became a make up staple over the summer, especially as t held up so well throughout the day even when eating and drink.

Maybellene Baby Lips: This was a pound shop baby lips so I’m not sure what it is to its normal drug store equivilant and its an import however, this stuff is amazing and tends to stay in

3 Avon Lipstick Samples: I got these when avon had a stand at a careers day at my university, they had nothing related to me but I love get free samples and these are super nice lipsticks and colours.

Makeup Academy Lipstick in Bare: the ultimate budget nude, cannot get enough of this.

Barry M Cor Balmy in Adam and Eve: I love this balm but the scent is a little summery so I may retire this for a few months.

I’m honestly too lazy to get up and check the last few (lazy blogger I know), however I have so much stuff to do at the moment and some of these aren’t actually labelled as they’ve worn off. So how do you store your makeup and what are your favourites in your own collection?

Day 94: Top Lip Products Under £10

So I’m starting off this top drugstore make up week by starting off with my favourite drugstore Lip Products. Essentially all the lip sticks, lip glosses and lip balms I love from the drug store. (Products will be ordered in price order from cheapest to most expensive

 MUA Lipstick in Bare

17

I own loads of the MUA lipsticks now, but this is by far my favourite. Its a  simple nude tone that is perfect for any occasion or make up look, its a fairly matt finish and just ties up a simple look. The only thing is that it isn’t that moisturising therefore balm will need to be worn underneath. The best thing is the price at only £1.00 a lipstick you can experiment and build your collection easily. Available from Superdrug and the MUA store for £1.00.

Body Shop Born Lippy Stick Lip Balm in Pomegranate

18I’m a big lover of lip balms and the body shop, so this one is obvious. A highly moisturising, beautiful smelling lip balm with a slight tint to it, ideal for any make up kit or bag. It smell so delicious you could eat it and they have no shortage of yummy favourites will definitely make sure my supply is stocked up. Available from the Body Shop for £3.00.

MUA Luxe Lip Lacquer in Tranquility

19

These had a odd texture to get used to but have amazing colours and are extremely long lasting. Check out my few review of the MUA Luxe Lip Lacquer here. Available in Superdrug stores and from the MUA Store for £3.00.

Barry M Cor Balmy in Adam and Eve

20

This I have used pretty much everyday since I bought it and I have regularly mentioned it in current make up routine posts and make up kit posts. Read the full review here. Available at Superdrug for £3.49.

Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter

20

For when your lips need some serious TLC, opt for the Body Shop Lip Butters unfortunately I am currently all out and will definitely be buying some before the winter weather well and truly sets in. I’m in love with all of the pink grapefruit range as it isn’t too sickly sweet and is really fresh smelly. There is no chapped lipped situation I have had that hasn’t been repaired but this. Available from the Body Shop for £4.00.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Nova

P1030186

This was my statement lip colour of the summer, a beautiful bright girly pink. The apocalips colours come in a stunning range of colours and it has a beautiful moisturising formula for a full review look here. Available at Boots for £6.49 and Superdrug for £5.99.

Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Just Peachy

15

And finally Tanya Burrs lipgloss, this is relatively new to my collection and I’ve fallen head over heels in love with it. A beautiful neutral colour thats smooth and moisturising, plus another bonus it isn’t that sticky although I doubt nothing will ever stop my boyfriend moaning about lip gloss. All the youtubers love it and it isn’t a bias towards a friend it is an amazing product. Available from Superdrug for £6.99 £4.66.

What are your favourite budget beauty lip buys?

Day 63: Family Vacation Vs Week at the Boyfriends Beauty Stuff

So today I got back from a holidaying in France with my mum and day, and on Tuesday I’m off to Cornwall to stay with my boyfriend and his family for 10 days. So I thought it would be interesting to look at the difference between what I take with my family to been seen by other people. So I’ll say what’s in my beauty bag for each and what’s the same and what’s different.

Visiting My Boyfriend in Cornwall

So I’m taking 3 bags of health and beauty stuff to Cornwall. Two of which are a beautiful set of matching Ellen Tracy bags, one small and perfect for my makeup brushes and the big one for all my beauty bits. Finally my pretty dusty purple make up bag from Wilkinson’s, they have a lovely range of makeup/toiletry bags that are pretty and inexpensive.

There is basically nothing similar, and the worst thing is that I don’t feel like I’ve over packed for going to Cornwall. I’ve tried to pack accordingly to what I am doing when I’m while I’m away, meals out seeing people ect. In my head they are both fit for purpose but are the really? I don’t have a clue.

Day 12: Product Review: Barry M Cor Balmy

So the other I popped into town with my mother and really wanted a new lip balm so I thought I’d try the Barry M ones as I just love the name.

So the official product description on the Barry M website says: “Tell ya chinas, Cor Balmy! is a wicked tinted SPF15 lip balm with a rich moisturising core enriched with Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter to protect and revitalise dry skin. For less than a Lady Godiva you’re avin’ a bubble!”

There are 5 shades of lip balm, I chose the lights shade (CB1) called Adam & Eve, so unfortunately I cannot test the tinted part as its such a pale pink that I can’t really tell if it tints my lips.

First and foremost it is in a bog standard lip stick package so the use and practicality of it is relatively straight forward. The design however I think is lacking, the words on the outside are hard to read and it concerns me some what that there are no ingredients on it not even on a sticker that you can peal off like most other make ups. I think the packaging looks cheap, I’m aware that it is only a drugstore brand but when you compare it to MUA lip packaging, it could be an awful lot better.

It smells like child hood and I’m undecided between it smelling like pick and mix and those like soft foamy prawn sweets, its pleasant and fortunately its not too strong so you can’t smell it when its on. It is nice but I think if you could smell it all the time it would become sickly very quickly so it has the right balance.

I am undecided on the look of the product as although it says it has a balm centre I am unclear on the need for the different coloured centre and although it can be pulled off in this shade the darked ones it looks odd. The actual product actually really works it goes on smoothly and feels nice on the lips a little greasier than I would of liked but soaks in fairly quickly.

Over all an okay product, I am likely to look around to for other lip balms but it will be a balm I will consider when I am looking to buy a balm again.

Available at Boots, Superdrug and Barry M for £3.49.
