August Primark Haul

It’s been a slightly spendy month, or picking up all sorts or little bits. If you wish to see the random bits I picked up this month, then you can check out my collective haul here but now is all the bits I picked up in Primark over two trips.

Primark Take One: I find Primark is one of those stores where you can find everything you want one trip and absolutely nothing the next time, so this trip into my one in town I just picked up some basics. Starting with some of my usual Primark goodies, I love the PS Cotton Pads (£0.50 each) which I use to remove my makeup daily, highly affordable and a great production. I’ve always used these before posting but I’m tempted to pick up another set as they are so cute, and look stunning so don’t hesitate to pick up some PS Almond Nails in Silk Gray (£1.00). How cure is this Mini Tin Candle in Pink Fizz (£2.00), and it smells delicious basically I have no will power. Finally, a repurchase as my last pair were dying, I wear the Slipper Shoes (£4.00) pretty much daily so I pick up a pair every few months or so.

Primark Take Two: Still feeling uninspired by the clothes but needing to stock up on the basics, I managed to do a small amount of damage on my second trick to Primark this month. Okay this first item is not a basic or an essential, but I cannot resist Pusheen, I brought the other Pusheen PJ leggings for my mother a bit back and when I saw the Pusheen PJ Leggings (£8.00) in the alternative design I knew I had to have them for myself.

Back to the basics, I’m a girl that lives in leggings but a few of my pairs are dying on me due to over wear but I need to wait until winter for some of the thick legging to come back into store. I saw these Zip Ponte Leggings (£8.00), which are slightly closer to a tregging so I might be able to get away with them for work, added bonus they are so damn comfy. I also picked up these slightly different looking Regular Space Dye Leggings (£8.00), which are slightly closer to a jogger than a legging. I haven’t worn joggers since my pre-teens but with the skinny leg and slouchy look being acceptable, I thought why not. I also picked up the essential Black Long Line Cami (£3.00) and Navy Stretch Vest (£2.50) as my previous ones are getting old and starting to get holes in them.

Final item for the Primark haul is rather unexciting Body Puff White (£1.00), but I couldn’t remember the last time I changed my poof so it was clearly time to pick up a new one.

Have you brought anything from Primark recently? Let me know what your winners are and what I should keep an eye out for.

May & June Favourites

June! How is it the end of June! It was going to be the month I was going to get active and get the blog get on track, but between work being hetic and the hot weather by the time I get home I feel so demotivated. Hopefully July will be the month I will get back on track but until then here is my May and June monthly favourites, a double serving to cover what I may have missed last month.

July Favourites

First up are my makeup favourites, and I will start with a base as it seems to make the most sense. With the hot weather mid-month, I fully embraced the George Matte Foundation in Warm Ivory, more of a BB cream than a foundation it was ideal when my face was melting. All in all, my review and initial opinion stay the same but it’s a great option for the hot weather. All in all, thought my makeup has stayed fairly basic this month, and I have rekindled my love for some of my affordable options such as the MUA Blush in Lolly and the PS Love 9 Shade Eyeshadow Pallet. Both products that do it all, adding a little bit of colour but nothing heavy which is what you really want as it comes into the summer month. As the weather turned a bit crap, this past week I have really embraced and enjoyed wearing eyeliner again, and I just had to include the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Eyeliner which I have review previously the perfect black budget eyeliner.

July Favourites - Skincare

Weirdly I have two “cleansing” favourites this month, I suppose with two months it can happen. A more recent favourite is the Nivea 3 in 1 Gentle Cleansing Wipes for Dry Skin, with the muggy and hot days mid-June there was nothing I wanted more than to be out of my makeup ASAP. So, I picked these up on offer from Asda, and started taking my makeup off at the end of the day in the car. For minimal work, these took off my makeup and left me fresh and clean faced, and I’ve been using them as soon as I get in so can allow my skin to breath. As for the evening skincare routine, I have been loving and I am almost out of the The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter. A gentle but through cleanser is ending my day perfectly ensuring all the grime for the day is gone, no makeup or dirt left but is gentle and soothing on the skin. I’m not totally over the textured but the pros outweigh the cons so I cannot complain.

What have you been enjoying this month, let me know it the comments I’d love to hear them.

June Collective Haul

Another month another haul, I feel like compared to other months I have brought more than previous months. So, let’s skip the introduction and get straight into all the lovely goodies I purchased in June.

Forever 21: Every so often I look at Forever 21 but don’t always buy, something made me think I’ll go for it and I thought I would try something a little bit different. Unfortunately, however much I loved it I have had to return the Contemporary Collared Shirt in Ivory (£15.00 £9.99), I just didn’t have the boob room but the material and quality of the embroidery was amazing so it ended up been such a shame. The other two items the Plus Size Super Skinny Jeans (£16.00) and Surplice Top in Peach (£11.99 £3.99), fit perfectly and in fact create a super cute casual outfit, comfortable and well made so I may be back to order more.

June Collective Haul - Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer

Body Care: I don’t think Body Care is a nationwide store but there’s two local to me and offers everything bath and body with a large amount of affordable skincare and makeup. I’ve run out of my Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer (£2.49), which was half its normal price right up my straight.

June Collective Haul - B&M - L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation

B&M: I love B&M, I know most people know about and rate food or homeware products but I think the beauty section is often highly underrated. Although you cannot guarantee the colours on offer there is often a large range of Rimmel, L’Oreal and Revlon foundations as well as mascaras for at least 50% off. All are sealed in their own packets so if you want to save on amazing product check it out. I’d been curious about the L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24-Hour Matte Foundation in 10 Porcelain, for a while and it was marked down to £4.99, near enough half price. I won’t open it now but it was too good to miss and I will post a review down the road for sure.

June Collective Haul - Superdrug - Freedom Brow Duo

Superdrug: I’ve been doing better this year of not buying makeup I do not necessarily need, but I felt like it was finally time to buy some proper brow powder opposed to a brow pencil or some suitable eyeshadow. I was amazed by the shade range and low price point offered by freedom so thought I would give them a go and brought the Freedom Duo Brow Powder in Medium Brown (£3.00) for myself and the Freedom Duo Brow Powder in Blonde (£3.00) for my mum.

June Collective Haul - Primark - PJs & Flipflops

Primark: I’ve not felt overall inspired by summer fashion this month, however I simply could not resist these Pusheen PJ Leggings (£8.00) as they are so cute. I was less sure on the top for this set, and I have plenty of PJ tops but these leggings I just couldn’t resist and I love these types of Primark PJ’s I have owned several in the past. I also picked up some summer essentials these Black Flipflops (£0.90), are so affordable and are such a great option for the summer you don’t need to worry about if they don’t last.

In addition to those pictured above, I also brought a new straightener the Remington S5525 Pro-Ceramic Extra Hair Straightener from Argos (£34.99). My last pair of straighteners gave up after something close to 5/6 years so it’s a good run. I love Remington straighteners and with longish, very thick hair I prefer a wider straightener to save time and have a better finish.

So that’s a slightly bigger pile of goodies than usual for June but I’m so happy with everything I’ve picked up. What did you buy in June?

Makeup Empties #2

Makeup Empties #2

It’s that time again for another Makeup Empties, slightly more spread out than the empties that I used to do but I hated the build-up of rubbish and makeup empties are more manageable just dumping the used items in a spare makeup bag in my draw when there done. I was getting sick of looking at it so decided to have another clear out and it was about time for another makeup empties post.

This time there is a number of eye makeup empties, something that usually takes a while to get through. Finally my L’Oreal Paris So Couture Volume Million Lashes Mascara and L’Oreal Paris So Couture Super Liner, dried up unsurprisingly as I brought them at a similar time. The Volume million lashes mascara, I’d really rate appearing in several favourites and makeup routines along the way and maybe if I wasn’t on the quest of always trying a new mascara I would purchase again. The liner on the other hand, although it got me back into liquid eyeliner its not a true deep black, nice to apply but there are better out there. I also finished up my Kiko Milano Single Eyeshadow in 130 Satin Beige Cream, I brought this single last April and I’ve finished it, which seems like an accomplishment as I never seem to finish eyeshadow, this single I use pretty much daily as a base or a blending colour it does everything and I will pick up another.

The next group I’ve finished is face products, one of the products I tend to finish and use most consistently. As usual I have finished another Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, and one more on the way out as I’m writing this so it seems like it might become an empties post staple. That and the Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer, two products that have consistently appeared in empties posts over the past 3 years that I always repurchase and keep in my collection. I also finished the PS Pro Long Wear Mineralised Foundation in Porcelain, which I reviewed a few months back.

Makeup Empties #2 - Rimmel Exaggerate LipLiner

Final empties this time is a long forgotten favourite I used to obsess over the Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob, but I got more experimental with lip colours and it took a back step. I finally finished it recently but I absolutely love this shade so it’s on my shopping list and I will pick up another one soon.

What have you been loving and using recently let me know in the comments.

Review: PS Dark Circle Reducing Sunflower Eyepatches

Primark PS 4 Dark Circle Reducer

I’m starting to think I have a slight obsession with trying out loads of the Primark PS range, so far I have had a pretty good experience with most Primark beauty products and this latest one the PS Dark Circle Reducing Sunflower Eyepatches. I’ve used eyepatches in the past, and love them as they are so refreshing and feel so nice on tired eyes.

I have to admit that I do not have the biggest dark circles, I go get the occasionally as well as bags under my eyes but they are nothing a bit on concealer can’t deal with. I just thought I would share how these compare to similar products on the market.

The eyepatches come in a pack of 4, initially I was apprehensive that with the foil packet that they would be all in one packet but fortunately it contains two foil packets meaning you can get two uses. The whole pack costs £1.00, so at only £0.50 per use. All you need to do when you want to use them is to peel them off the piece of plastic and place them under your eyes. The general instruction to leave for up to 20 minutes, I tend to wait 10 to 15 minutes as this is sort of my limit. I do not find it comfortable pass this point simply because of how heavy it feels and you are aware they are there.

These eye patches are so cooling and refreshing, making you feel more refreshed and gives you a small piece of feeling pampered without the price tag. Considering the price tag, and I am never fully convinced by these products I doubt this is going to be your answer to dark circles there are probably better actions. Still when you feel tired, drained and just want a little TLC I’d really recommend them as they make you feel less tired and just like you’ve done something for yourself.

So all in all I don’t think they will fix your dark circles, but they are nice to use and these are so inexpensive if you want to give eyepatches a go and look ridiculous.

Review: PS Micellar Cleasing Water with Rose & Vitamin E

Primark PS Micellar Cleansing Water

Do you think anything will ever make micellar waters go away? From cult beauty to the mainstream micellar waters are everywhere these days, so how do you know which once are worth it or not. In fact I have reviewed a fair few myself. I’m not a micellar water novice I know what I like and what to expect, I often find Garnier products to be the best but if you want to see my verdict on a variety of micellar waters, the previous products I have tried are the following: Garnier SkinActive Oil Infused Micellar Water, No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Water, Boots Botanic All Bright Micellar 3 in 1 Cleansing Solution and a few more not linked here.

But enough of previous products today is the turn of the PS Micellar Water, which I was curious to try with pretty packaging and an affordable price tag I thought it was worth ago. The packaging overall is pretty simple, and I’ve found the lid (flip top) to be pretty secure it stays shut and doesn’t leak not that I was expecting to but it’s a plus. The only issue is I’ve found it hard with the size of the hole in the lid to control how much comes out more so than others with this closure such as the Garnier Micellar water and often end up with too much product, and an absolutely soaked cotton pad so much so that you have to split it between to cotton pads.

PS Micellar Cleasing Water

Now onto the actual makeup removal I have to say it proved to be somewhat or a mixed bag. On face products and eyeshadow, the micellar deals fine, removing it with a simple wipe all over, easy perfect no problems here. The main problem is when it comes to eye makeup, maybe it’s the sheer amount of mascara I put on a daily basis, but it struggles. Even when you hold it the pad on your eye for a good while it doesn’t come off properly and I still have to use an alternative product in order to take my makeup off properly. Which is a bit of shame?

Overall although I think it was worth a try you tend to buy a micellar water as a do it all product and this definitely isn’t that. I’ll make sure to use it, and I think it will be good as a quick pre-makeup cleanse or to take of the worse of my makeup when I get in from work. So save your money and buy a different micellar water, or buy one of the other products Primark offers. Let me know in the comment what micellar waters you’d recommend in the comments.

March Collective Haul

It’s that time again, monthly haul time. With gifts for my birthday I haven’t actually done a huge amount of buying this month just the 6 products included so not much of a haul. Still a little sneak peek coming up and amazingly despite my no buy rule I have purchased two lip products.

Primark: I’m not feeling the Primark clothing this season but I fell head over heels in love with this Winne the Pooh Travel Mug (£3.50), it’s so cute and not too childish. Perfect for morning when I need that second cup of coffee on the way to work, I cannot get enough of this mug. Although right now I have tended to prefer using a brush to apply my foundation at the moment I still love sponges for concealer plus it’s good to have some on hand therefore I picked up the PS 2pk Blender Sponge (£1.50).

george-tint-n-pout-lip-oil-in-barely-there

ASDA: I am the queen of failing my new year’s resolutions, or Beauty Resolutions for that matter. I definitely did not need another lip product, but I’ve never tried a lip oil before so maybe I can justify it in my head. You may have already see the review though, but this month I brought and tried the George Asda Tint and Pout Tinted Lip Oil (£4.00).

Boots Haul ft NXY and Collection

Boots: Seeing as it was my birthday I decided to treat myself to another NXY Soft Matte Lip Cream I love my other two shades with the vampy Copenhagen and bright San Paulo, I decided I wanted a more natural every day shade. I ended up picking up the NXY Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes, I’m testing it out now and if everything goes to plan the full review will be up in the next week or so. I also repurchased again the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 01 Fair, simply a staple in my makeup collection that I would never be without.

Let me know in the comments what you have picked up recently and what should be on my shopping list.

February Collective Haul

With February drawing to a close it is time again for my monthly collective haul, its not a big month for stuff but I thought I would share the few things I picked up.

asda-haul-ft-loreal-true-match

ASDA: I love it when you’ve run out foundation and not only can you find it in Asda its on offer too. The L’Oreal True Match Foundation in Ivory Rose (£7.00), is my go to foundation I always have a bottle on hand, the best colour match and I love the feel of it too.

suoerdrug-haul-ft-nivea

Superdrug: Just a few basics this month from Superdrug this month. It’s been a good month or two since I last had the Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer (£2.49), I’m not sure why maybe it’s because I was trying out other products but I’m glad to have it back in my life it’s the best makeup base I have ever had. Other than that, I picked up another boring essential with the Nivea Protect and Care Antiperspirant (£1.63), a good go to deodorant although to be honest I’m not fussy this one is a good one though.

Primark: With my last pair on the way out I once again picked up another pair of the Flat Faux Suede Pumps (£4.00), they are great for everyday and go with a lot of outfits. I’m never without a pair, plus something more expensive never lasts that much longer than these ones. Then after a few failed clothes try-ons I hit up the beauty section, picking more of my favourite Cotton Wool Pads (£0.50 each), some of the cheapest around and they get the job done. Finally, out of curiosity I picked up the PS Micellar Cleansing Water (£2.00), I’m obsessed with micellar waters so I had to try another one and this one is so affordable. Keep your eyes peeled for a review.

So what did you pick up in February, let me know in the comments below.

Everyday Work Makeup

everyday-makeup

When you wake up early every morning, when it is cold and dark sometimes it’s hard to feel inspired to mix things up. I mixed up my makeup bag, and I am loving my current makeup routine so I thought I would take a few minutes to share it with you guys here.

I have to say my morning makeup is one of the most all over thing’s ever, but it works perfect for a work morning where I drink my coffee, watch youtube and get ready. I’m just on the last little bit of the PS Pro Miracle Primer , but I’ve enjoyed using it as a strong base for my makeup. I’m still on my L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation in Rose Ivory kick, the best colour match and every occasion foundation I have ever tried. Don’t ever change, L’Oreal True Match.

everyday-makeup-ft-loreal-paris-sleek-ps-pro-collection

So, once I’ve got my strong base I start on my eyes, and I’m so into my pinks at the moment creating a basic pink neutral shades I use the Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 1010 Touch of Rose as an all over the lid colour. I then build up the look to various amounts depending on my mood with the Fleur De Force Quad Eyeshadow in 020 Luna Rose . Finally, I finish up my eyes with the L’Oréal Paris So Couture Super Liner, I so need a new one soon but it does the job.

The next step is to finish off my face, as I like to wait to finish my eyes off first so any corrections are easier. I’m still in love with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and I’ve been setting it with the Collection Primed & Ready Invisible Setting Power both of which are strong basics for anyone’s makeup routine. I feel like these last two are in a lot of routines but I just always tend to gravitate to my Sleek Face Form Pallet in Light still for light sculpting after well over a year now it’s still a daily go to, and currently I love pairing it with the MUA Blusher in Cupcake which is perfect for just everyday.

every-day-makeup-ft-revlon-fdf-loreal-paris-catrice-natural-collection

So, what’s missing? Well brows and Mascara of course, I told you I do these in a weird order but its just how I like to do it. Maybe the weird order is what happens when you haven’t finished your coffee. Sometimes I feel as though Natural Collection is a serious under rated range they offer great products, I am in love with my Natural Collection Brow Pencil the colour is great, it’s easy to use and the spoolie on the other end is endlessly useful. I’m currently trying out the Revlon All-In-One Ultimate Mascara, so keep your eyes peeled as I will post a review shortly.

So that’s it my easy makeup, what are your go to and daily staples.

January 2017 Collective Haul

In case you missed my Beauty Resolutions at the start of the month, I am trying to only buy what I need so I thought I would start again with my monthly collective hauls. It’s just a nice way to share anything I’ve brought and I already know I will be buying less this year, as I am trying to do one in one out with beauty products but I’m also only buying clothes I need so I actually like and wear what I own. So in the month of huge sales how much resistance have I managed to shop

Leia Factory Shop: If you are busty you know sometimes finding a good bra can be expensive and I feel like Leia is one of the best kept secrets the website often has 50% off sales but I live fairly closed to the factory outlet a tiny shop filled with racks of bras. A couple of times of years they have major sales where the bras are so cheap and I love the Freya Decos, I showed restraint after buying a few back in October so I left with two Bra and two pants which match (the purple matches a previous bra.)

january-collective-haul-leia

Deco Vibe (£36 £9, 75% off), Deco Delight (£34 £9, 74% off), Deco Vibe Shorts (£13 £3 each 77% off)

If you are curious about the shop and what they offer you can check out Leia here, but as you can see the sales are definitely worth it.

primark-nude-zip-tote

Primark: I am currently on the lookout for a nice, expensive(ish) bag but in the mean time I need a smart bag for work as my current bag is looking a little bit worse for wear. Although I’d tend to go for a black bag I fell in love with this Nude Zip Tote Bag (£9.00), I couldn’t resist and its relatively inexpensive. Also its huge I’m going to transfer all my stuff across shortly.

boots-janauary-collective-haul

Boots: January was a month to stock up on some basics once again, I’ve fallen in love with the Boots Essentials Cucumber Cleansing Wipes (£1.00 each) and with a points bonus it made sense to stock up now. Continuing with basics in the month of December I was constantly foing my nails for various occasions and I’m almost out of nail polish remover so I thought I would give the Boots 2-In-1 Nail Polish Remover (£1.29), I’m not loyal with nail polish removers and tend to buy what’s there.

january-collective-haul-boots

My skin is so dry at the moment so I’m going made with face masks in order to give my skin some much needed TLC, so while it was on offer I picked up a couple of the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask (£0.99 each). I’ve got one already but I cannot wait to put them to the test.

The final thing I picked up was the Revlon All In One Ultimate Mascara (£9.99), I cannot wait to give it a go as I love as I desperately need a new mascara. Don’t worry I will post a review shortly.

What have you picked up in January either in the sales or in general. I’ve still got a few items on my list so there will still be more hauls don’t worry.
