Review: The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub

The Body Shop Cream Exfoliating Body Scrub in Vineyard Peach

Nothing says summer like smooth skin and subtle fruity fragrances, I think The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub is a product that thoroughly sums up summer. I picked this up in the sale with the additional 40% off back at the end of March and it’s taken a little while to get round to this review, if you want to see what else I picked up at the time you can check out the haul here.

Over the years I have tried a large variety of body scrubs from the Body Shop as well as others, so I know what sort of products I feel work best for my skin. The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub promises to:

This gently exfoliating body scrub smells like freshly picked peaches. It lifts away dead skin cells and leaves skin peachy-soft. Lifts away dead skin cells. Stimulates skin surface microcirculation. Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother”

I know people like to use scrubs in slightly different ways, I am a work into dry skin kinda girl rubbing it all over before getting in the shower and washing it off. I tend to find over everything else this is the most effective way to use a body scrub, as you can really work them into your skin. The Vineyard Peach Body Scrub is cream based opposed to more of a sugar scrub or gel based formula I have tried in the past from the body shop but I am no stranger to cream based scrubs themselves. I really enjoy a cream based scrub as I love the finer particles in these scrubs without the density of a sugar scrub.

The Body Shop - Vineyard Peach Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub

Overall I really enjoy this scrub fine enough to work into the skin, but not super dense that its workable. I love how my skin feels after using it and the peach sent is light and simply delightful. I’m loving this and if you are looking for a new scrub I highly recommend checking it out, especially if it is the sale.

April Favourites

Where on earth did April go when we are back to this already? Anyway lets get to it with what i have been loving in April.

April Favourites

I had a love hate relationship with the old formula but I am head over heels in love with the L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation in Rose Ivory. The old formula used to go patchy and weird if I was suffering from dry skin, this one is thinner without compromising on the coverage but is more hydrating and sits nicer on the face. I use a sponge to apply and it just evens me out, the colour is also perfect for me.

My Fragrance of the month has been The Body Shop Madagascan Vanilla Flower Perfume Oil, the oil based texture took a little getting used to but the scent lasted all day. It’s a sweet subtle vanilla scent and is subtle in notes. So I smell nice all day but it isn’t overpowering, so glad to get this as a birthday gift as I never would of picked it up otherwise.

I am finally back into painting my nails and my favourite this month has been Barry M Aquarium Collection Nail Paint in Caspian, not necessarily a colour for this time of year but with its duo-chrome colour it is so damn pretty.

I don’t know if it is weird to have a anti-bacterial gel as a favourite but I absolutely the Cuticura Candy Apple Hand Gel. I don’t like the hand gels that smell really alcoholic and this one is perfect, it just smells like sugary candy fruit sweets. One final honourable mention to my Tangle Teezer, I took it on holiday and I am back to using it daily and I am so glad I am. Best hairbrush ever.

So that is what I loved over the course of April, what have you been loving? Let me know in the comments below

May Favourites

May Favourites

Hi everyone,

Its that time again for looking back over every thing that I have been loving over may and kinda over April as I didn’t do one last month. So with exams, celebrations and music festivals its been a mixed bag this month and the weather hasn’t helped either.

Pastel Nail Polish

This month I have being loving pastel nails this month either having each colour individually or a beautiful pastel array. The first is one I have fallen in love again from last summer and its my NYC Expert Last Nail Polish in Lavender Cupcake, which is a beautiful lavender colour that literally needs two layers and you are set to go. I have also been loving the Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint in Kiss Me Quick, a beautiful pastel pink colour it is definitely more of a cool toned pink but is ideal for summer and I think it will get a lot of use as it is suitable for special events and a more casual look. Finally if you want something much cooler then the Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint in Eat My Dust, I think this is my favoirite out of these three but they are all of my favourites and I just cannot get enough of them

P.S. Love Blush Stick

As summer approaches out comes the coral tones and the cream based products, so I have been loving the Primark P.S. Love Blush Stick these don’t have names but it is the more coral tone. I really love it just dable it on, blend if on and you have long lasting blush all day. Plus the colour is perfect you can check out my swatches of this an initial review here.

Rimmel 9-in-1 cream

A product that I’ve only had since the end of April but I’ve been loving simply due to its simplicity and ease of use, so on mornings when I was tired form revision or didn’t want to think about my makeup the Rimmel London 9-in-1 BB Cream. It was just so simple to use and just evens you out, also all my other foundations tend to be a full coverage so it was nice to dabble with lighter product, you can check my full review of it here.

Ganier Micellar Cleansing Water

Another fairly new product to me but not a new concept and its the Ganier Micellar Cleansing Water, I picked this up after using up my L’Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water which I also loved but with the blogging blog I had to try something new. I have to say I absolutely love this especially as I picked it up on offer in Asda for £3.33, its so effortless to take off my make up simply wet a cotton pad, hold it over my eyes for a few seconds and it simply wipes everything away. I love the clean feeling and although I would love to have a more thorough skin care routine I don’t have the space or time to invest in the research to get a perfect routine but as it stand my current cobbled together routine has left my skin fairly decent.

The Body Shop Blueberry Body Butter

The final thing I have been loving and I feel as though I have mentioned it before which is The Body Shop Blueberry Body Butter, this stuff has lasted me quite a while but it smells so damn amazing. Also like all Body Shop Body Butters it is deeply hydrating and leaves your skin feeling amazing I just cannot get get enough of it.

So what have you guys been loving this month, also what do you think about this new format for favourites, I feel as though it is a lot more flowing than my previous favourites posts, so let me know.

April Roundup

April May

April ended way too soon, in less than a month I will of completed my final ever exam and coursework and I will of finished education forever, well probably. I just cannot believe it, its just unreal. Unfortunately there isn’t much in the way of favorites simply because between the mountain of coursework and revision I’ve barely had time for specific beauty favorites or anything so unfortunately I can’t really do my usual monthly favorites.

April was a mixed month it was nice to spend time with the family over the Easter break as well as catching up with old friends, it was nice to see where everyone is. Also its lovely that the weather has warmed up but it is somewhat bitter sweet simply because I’ve mainly been trapped inside doing coursework ect. It’s going to be so odd finishing university so I have to thoroughly relish in a world of flexibility and interesting research projects in which three years of study has been leading to. Overall I’m glad I went to university and got to study economics a underrated and fascinating subject, its just weird to think I am done as I have always known that I was going to University so not having my life completely planned is weird. Had anyone else had that when leaving education or the ending of plans you’ve always had? It’s just a weird mix of emotions but I’m looking forward to May, the end of exams, relaxing and getting to go to Slam Dunk Festivals as well as wanting to try out some new blog things probably as I now have more time.

So how is has your April been and what are you guys looking forward to in May?

Lots of Love

Primark Haul

primark haul

So this is kinda part two of my haul from the other day but I had enough Primark stuff for a haul in its own right. I love Primark and since my home town has only in the last few month upgraded its Primark so I’m still loving shopping in a huge Primark.

primark flipflops

Summer is just round the corner and my flipflops broke last summer so I needed a replacement but I didn’t want anything fancy, so i picked up the pretty Black Patterned Flip-flops (£1.00). Hopefully they will go with most things and at £1.00 it doesn’t matter if they break or I cannot use them that much. I also picked up the Marvel Avengers Flip-flops (£3.00) for my boyfriend, he loves all things marvel and he needs a new pair as he lives in flip-flops over the summer. I cannot wait to see his face when he gets them.

primark ripped jeans

I’ve been loving the look of the ripped jean look but I am way more of a legging girl so I thought Primark would be a good place to start. I found these Ripped Skinny Jeans (£13.00) which are absolutely perfect so even if I don’t wear them that much its fine, these also fit really well so hopefully I’ll get some wear out of these.

DSCF4660[1]

Finally I hit the beauty section for a few bits and pieces, first up my old favorite is the Primark False Fashion Nails (£1.00) in which I went for a subtle nude colour so it doesn’t really matter when I use them. Next up I picked up the P.S. Love Your Skin Gentle Eye Makeup Remover (£1.50) which I’m excited to try and I will possibly do a review for it if you are interested in it as cheap but good make up removers are always welcome. The final thing I brought was a Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener (£1.00) which has two sizes which is really useful to have the bigger size and most of the time these things are really overpriced so I’m glad I picked it up so cheap.

Have you guys found any good finds at primark recently? Have you tried anything good from the primark p.s. love range?

Lots of Love
