Makeup Empties #2

Makeup Empties #2

It’s that time again for another Makeup Empties, slightly more spread out than the empties that I used to do but I hated the build-up of rubbish and makeup empties are more manageable just dumping the used items in a spare makeup bag in my draw when there done. I was getting sick of looking at it so decided to have another clear out and it was about time for another makeup empties post.

This time there is a number of eye makeup empties, something that usually takes a while to get through. Finally my L’Oreal Paris So Couture Volume Million Lashes Mascara and L’Oreal Paris So Couture Super Liner, dried up unsurprisingly as I brought them at a similar time. The Volume million lashes mascara, I’d really rate appearing in several favourites and makeup routines along the way and maybe if I wasn’t on the quest of always trying a new mascara I would purchase again. The liner on the other hand, although it got me back into liquid eyeliner its not a true deep black, nice to apply but there are better out there. I also finished up my Kiko Milano Single Eyeshadow in 130 Satin Beige Cream, I brought this single last April and I’ve finished it, which seems like an accomplishment as I never seem to finish eyeshadow, this single I use pretty much daily as a base or a blending colour it does everything and I will pick up another.

The next group I’ve finished is face products, one of the products I tend to finish and use most consistently. As usual I have finished another Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, and one more on the way out as I’m writing this so it seems like it might become an empties post staple. That and the Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer, two products that have consistently appeared in empties posts over the past 3 years that I always repurchase and keep in my collection. I also finished the PS Pro Long Wear Mineralised Foundation in Porcelain, which I reviewed a few months back.

Makeup Empties #2 - Rimmel Exaggerate LipLiner

Final empties this time is a long forgotten favourite I used to obsess over the Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob, but I got more experimental with lip colours and it took a back step. I finally finished it recently but I absolutely love this shade so it’s on my shopping list and I will pick up another one soon.

What have you been loving and using recently let me know in the comments.

Empties #16

So I’m back and what is a better way to do it than with the good ol faithful empties post, the bag was just getting in the way so it seemed like the right sort of time to do a new post. So what have I used up in the past few months.

The Crème Shop Drink Up, Skin! Sheet Masks: In case you missed my review on these masks, I love these masks, so hydrating and fun. Would I repurchase: definitely!

Boots Simply Sensitive Gentle Micellar Water: Who doesn’t love a good micellar water, the lazy girls dream product. This was gentle and refreshing, I really enjoyed using it you can find my full review for it here . Would I repurchase: yes.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Cleansing Lotion and Facial Toner: These appear up in a few empties posts, I love these for removing makeup and simple skincare. I always repurchase these time after time, as they are great to have as part of an affordable skincare routine. Would I repurchase: yes.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer: Just another empties with another wake me up concealer, a great brightening concealer. Would I repurchase: yes.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: I switched out my ol faithful wake me up concealer for the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and I have to say I don’t know why I stopped using it while the wake me up mainly brightens the lasting perfection concealer hides everything. Would I repurchase: yes.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Super-Blur Imperfections Eraser: When I swatched this in Boots and was amazed, then when I ended up actually using it this actually sucked. On top of that it ended up being done so quickly it’s insane, so this was a complete dub another soap and glory makeup item I am unimpressed with. Would I repurchase: definitely not.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob: This is my all-time favourite lip liner, a perfect your lips but better colour I always have one on hand and it’s the only lip product I’ve ever repurchased. You can see it on with swatches in my review here. Would I repurchase: always.

The Body Shop Mango Body Scrub: We all love a body scrub and with a sugar scrub texture it definitely scrubs and clears up skin cells well but I have to say the scent is underwhelming. Unlike other Body Shop scents it is barely there and I don’t expect this from their products, so maybe pick up one of their other ones. Would I repurchase: Unlikely.

The Body Shop Blueberry Shower Gel: who doesn’t love a nice smelling shower gel? This is still from my birthday goodies in March, I’ve just got to wait until Christmas to stock up on more body shop products. Would I repurchase: yes.

Nivea Crème Coconut Shower Cream: I’m not sure there is ever much to say about a shower gel but this one smells amazing and is a nice change. Would I repurchase: why not.

 empties-the-skin-system-cocoa-body-butter

The Skin Systems Cocoa Body Butter: this was picked up on a whim in Asda when I saw it was super cheap on offer and im so glad I did. It’s thick and creamy but soaks in quickly and I love the smell of cocoa butter, a pleasant sent that’s not too over powering. Would I repurchase: definitely.

So that’s everything and into the recycling they go, never forget to recycle. So have you guys used or tried anything good recently let me know in the comments I love to try new things.

Empties #11

empties #11

Straying away a bit from the blogmas and Christmas themed posts today, it’s time for some mini reviews and some empties.

empties # 11 ft rimmel london & the body shop

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation in Light Porcelain: I wanted to try a full coverage foundation and considering my previous positive experience with a number of Rimmel London picking up the lasting finish foundation was a no brainer. I love this for having a high coverage without looking cakey although make sure you moisturise and primer beforehand as it can sit slightly funny on dry skin. Would I repurchase: maybe.

The Body Shop Extra Virgin Mineral Foundation in 102 Natural Ivory: This is pretty much done and the texture has gone semi odd. It’s a terribly dry foundation, which may be good for oily skin but it doesn’t work for me and no matter how much I sheer it out or very little I put on it looks cakey and awful. So I’m getting rid of it as I tried so many different way to make it work for me but it wasn’t going to. As it’s on the pricer side and I didn’t have anyone to give it too I tried damn hard to use it up. Would I repurchase: definitely not.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer: This is more of a moisturising primer and I’ve enjoyed trying it, I’ve liked a lot of the Rimmel primers. This moisturises the face and just leaves it a really smooth and helps my makeup last all day, good primer but with the blogger bug I know I’ll end up trying some more primers before coming back to this. Would I repurchase: yes.

empties #11 ft nivea and yves rocher

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer: I have gone through countless pots of this over the last few years, and I always repurchase this. A bargain at the rrp of £4.99, it is often on offer at one shop or another between £2.49-£3.00 so I always stock up then because I know I will use it, its smart buying rather than buying because it’s on offer. I use it sometimes as a primer or sometimes as a moisturiser, it’s just a great base, light and hydrating which means it is a perfect base with my combination/dry skin. Would I repurchase: Always.

Skin Therapy Sensitive Skin Fragrance Free Wipes: These face wipes are a bit of a dud for removing makeup as they really do not take it all up, which sucks and these cannot be a lazy makeup day option. I’ve used them as a quick face refresher if I’m not wearing makeup and they are alright for correcting makeup application mistakes or wiping foundation of the back of your hand. Really you are just better getting something more these are fairly dry and pretty useless. Would I repurchase: No.

Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal 24 Hr Intense Hydrating Gel-Crème: I had this in a 3 pack as a ten day treatment, but this lasted longer, it got a bit rejected for a  bit but this does wonders for my skin deeply hydrating and repairing. Would I repurchase: yes.

Yves Rocher Pink Grapefruit Vitamin Face Mist: I got this from the lovely Danielle in a beauty swap back in January and I have finally used it up. I mainly used this over the summer to either freshen up my face during the day, to cool me down or a light way to put back in some moisture and it worked a treat. I didn’t want to wait until next summer to use it with that little voice in my head telling me I’d end up losing it and ended up using it for makeup application, spraying in onto my egg shaped sponge to wet it before makeup application and it worked a treat I feel as though it just added a touch of extra moisture and helped my skin feel fresher, no idea if it did though. I’ve since refilled with water which spritz a low better and its super handy. Would I repurchase: if I could get it over here yes.

empties #11 ft lush and the body shop

The Body Shop Almond Hand Cream: This sat for ages with a tiny bit left as I moved to a repurchased tube and forgot about this one. Smelling like Cherry Bakewells and deeply hydrating what more do you want from a hand cream, also I find that it doesn’t leave hands feeling greasy. I’m not a fan of the non-traditional body shop, body shop hand creams if that makes sense like the strawberry or satsuma ones are nowhere near as nice. Would I repurchase: yes.

Superdrug Sensitive Bikini Hair Removal: I know hair removal, especially intimate hair removal is rarely talked about but due to this being a complete dud of a product I thought I’d share it. I wanted to try something other than shaving that didn’t hurt like waxing, but due to the nature of the area you need something that is made for it. This however was a dud, I left it on for the maximum time and it did nothing at all and with hair removal creams I don’t like to leave them on any longer than the maximum as they can burn the skin. The aftercare cream was really nice but the cream is not worth trying. Would I repurchase: definitely not.

Ted Baker Body Wash: The last bit of this has been sitting there for ages and I’ve finally used it. I love the Ted Baker scent and always get some around Christmas time, so I’ve finished this just in time. Would I repurchase: definitely.

The Body Shop Brazil Nut Shower Crème: I got this super cheap from the body shop last January and as I brought so much stuff. I feel as though this is slightly more toffee, sweet sort of smell but unlike some fragrances it is not too sickly sweet. Would I repurchase: yes.

Lush Butterball Bath Ballistic: This is the only bath bomb I can use from lush, leaves my skin feeling amazing. Also it’s so gentle and inoffensive, sure your bath isn’t sure pretty and colourful but these will definitely benefit your skin. Would I repurchase: yes.
empties #11 ft dovd

Dove Anti-Frizz Serum: This year has been all about hair oils but this has been the first one I have finished as I like to mix and match. This smells delightful and leaves my hair feeling silky and smooth, keeping it repaired and strong. Would I repurchase: yes.

empties #11 ft ted baker and primark

Ted Baker London Body Spray: A mix of rose, sandalwood and raspberry a delicate mix of sweet and spicy, perfect for all times of year with its warms and depth. The thing I love with body sprays are that they last all day never loosing much scent, it’s also handy that it comes in a plastic bottle so you know that it is safe and won’t break. This scent is great and there is a whole range to complement this which is a great set to pick up over Christmas. Would I repurchase: Yes.

Primark Blackcurrant and Plum Scented Candle: Some of the Primark candles smell amazing but don’t kick out that much scent when burnt but this one was absolutely amazing. It is probably more of Autumnal scent as it is so warming and blackcurrant is definitely more of a winter thing. Would I repurchase: yes.

Phew! another empties over a done with just in time for Christmas.

Empties #10

Empties #10

Just after I’ve written and empties I seem to then finish everything so I always attempt to space these out somewhat. I don’t know if I should switch to doing these monthly or not but between monthly favourites, collective monthly hauls and then monthly empties I feel like my blog would just feel too repetitive. So just let me know in the comments if I should make this a monthly thing or just make it this semi regular more bi-monthly occurrence.

mkeup empties ft bourjois, collection

L’Oreal True Match Foundation in Rosy Ivory (Sample Size): I’ve owned this in the past and love having the sample size, which lasts ages by the way. I loved it over the summer for travelling, used it for graduation and in between and think this will definitely will be the next foundation I repurchase. Would I repurchase: sure.

Bourjois Paris 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory: This was a little bit of a dud, the colour was way too dark despite being ivory and the lightest shade and on its own it can tend to oxidise. Yet the coverage was great so if it’s the right colour it’s probably a great CC cream with a good level of evening the skin tone out. I’ve used it up by using it mixed with other foundations or bb creams especially during the summer and in varying amounts to use it up and make the colour up to match my more tanned colour especially in the summer as even tanned this didn’t match me. Would I repurchase: nope.

Collection Pressed Powder in Ivory: This is my favourite pressed powder ever and I rarely bother to buy anything else, I’m never oily so I cannot comment on its oil control but it thoroughly sets your makeup in place and is actually pale enough. It is fairly finely milled especially for the price point but it doesn’t look cakey. Would I repurchase: always.

P.S Love Egg Shaped Sponge: The sponge is starting to tear and just doesn’t seem to be cleaning properly so it’s time to swap it out again, this has transformed my makeup routine and I absolutely love using it. I usually end up chucking this every three months for a new one but at £1.50 a time it’s what £6.00 a year. Would I repurchase: yes.

skincare empties ft teco & garnier

Superdrug Tea Tree Skincare Lemon Facial Wash: Another item which has been in empties before as well as in the odd routine. So I won’t say much it is just a really nice refreshing face wash, great to use in the mornings. Would I repurchase: yes.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (‘Handbag Sized’) & Regular Size: After loving the Garnier Miceller Water I thought I would buy the handbag size to take with me on trips and travels, so I could get makeup off properly . I thought this would be great as you could refill it but as it turns out the top doesn’t come off which sucks. This would be great for going away for longer than a week especially as it lasts way longer than that and it’s a great easy to use product. This has lasted me absolutely months well worth it. Would I repurchase: yes.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: This has lasted me absolutely months, although I haven’t repurchased it yet instead buying the L’Oreal Micellar Water because I got it with discount vouchers. I love Micellar Waters in general as they take off your makeup thoroughly and I’m super lazy, I use it not only to take off my makeup but as a quick pre-makeup cleanse. Would I repurchase: yes.

Tea Tree and Peppermint Deep Moisturising Hand Pack: As it starts to get colder my hands start to need more moisturising as sometimes they crack, so sometimes they need some extra TLC. Like foot packs which I have talked about before these have moisturiser within like plastic gloves and they are perfect for a bit of pampering but you can still do stuff while wearing them like a touch of blogging or changing the channel on the TV. Would I repurchase: yes.

Macadamia Oil Extract Foot Pack: I’ve had many foot packs in the past so just look back in my empties if you want to know more, they rock that’s all. Would I repurchase: yes.

Laura Ashley Imperial Bloom Body Butter: Thick, creamy and delightfully floral scent and it isn’t overly heavy but it leaves the skin feeling hydrated and soft. The scent lasts all day too but not in an overpowering way, the main issues is that this was a Christmas gift and isn’t readily available but I think I will try other Laura Ashley Body Butter as the formula is so nice. Would I repurchase: yes, if I can find it.

hair empties ft argan oil & batiste

Batise Original Dry Shampoo (Travel Sized): So I brought this over the summer to take on holiday with me, but it’s taken me forever to use as I rarely use dry shampoo. I am starting to think I should switch to only buying travel sized dry shampoos so they take up less space. I definitely think batiste is my favourite dry shampoo although I like the original scent I definitely prefer some of the others like cherry and blush. Would I repurchase: yes probably.

Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner: I initially reviewed this way back at the start of my blog way back in the day, and I found it so-so and it spent most of its time sat the bathroom cupboard. But I’ve recently been using it after swimming and it’s really helped my hair stay in good condition. Would I repurchase: undecided.

Theraputics Renergise Shampoo and Renew Conditioner: These are little hotel bottles which I picked up to take swimming with me, really fresh and a good lather. I don’t think I would bother with trying to find these to buy I think I would use them again.

tesco cotton pads, ps love hand gel

Ghost Girl Eau De Toilette (sample): I received this lovely sample in the post, and it is absolutely delectable with notes of pear and pomegranate it’s a sweet fruity scent which I adore. I loved having the sample in my bag for the odd touch up and to freshen up throughout the day. The only thing I am not sure about is the packaging which looks cute but is slightly teeny if I dare say, but it smells too good I may crack. Would I purchase: yes.

P.S. Love Anti-Bac Hand Gel: This hand gel costs amazing and it costs £0.60, best impulse buy ever. Always keep an eye on the till stuff at Primark as this is impulsive and useful. Would I repurchase: yes.

Tesco Everyday Value 80 Cotton Wool Pads: So-So not great, but not awful they did the job and were good when I needed cotton wool pads tended to use them for polish removal. Would I repurchase: probably if I needed them.

So another empties over and done with, and off to the recycling. What products have you loved and used up recently?

Empties #9

empties #9

After having such a huge empties last time where I simply spent most of the time running up to creating the post, thinking this is almost done I’ll wait. Then it just seems to add up as I don’t do it monthly I just wait until I consider I have enough. So here we go again, I’m always going to be obsessed with empties posts as I feel as though people can give the best quality reviews once they’ve finished a product and repurchasability (I’m making up words again) of a product is a definite strong recommendation.

Benefit Roller Lash (sample size): I got this back with Elle in I think February, and I saved it for travelling and finally finished it. I have to say it takes a while to get the technique and if I put the effort to use it right my lashes look absolutely amazing otherwise they just look normal. I have manage to find mascaras that work very similar such as the Primark Curl and Lift Mascara, the Benefit is superior but I’m on a budget and I cannot justify the cost of the mascara. Would I repurchase: maybe, if it was on a good offer.

empties ft superdrug Morrison’s Pure Cotton Wool Pads: I’m not sure what to say, these are decent cotton wool pads especially for a low price point. They don’t break up when taking off nail varnish, the only thing is they aren’t as soft as I would have liked feeling fairly abrasive on the skin when using a cleanser or toner. Would I repurchase: I don’t see why not.

Boots Cotton Wool Double Faced Round Pads: These are by far my favourite cotton pads I have ever used, with one padded side which is gentle and good for cleansers etc. While the other side have an exfoliating texture, great for a deeper clean with a toner of micellar water to take off makeup Would I repurchase: yes.

Tesco Everyday Value Facial Wipes: I’ve mentioned these in empties before, my favourite face wipes as they are the best at removing makeup or correcting mistakes yet they are so cheap. I don’t use them for makeup removal that often but recommend having them in your stash just in case. Would I repurchase: Always.

empties ft tesco & morrisons

TRESemme Heat Defence Spray (Travel Size): I did consider refilling this but the spay mechanism is so-so, so I’m more likely to find a new spray bottle and the pour some out from my regular sized bottle. The heat defence spray itself though is amazing and I will never go without it, thus the travel size and it’s great to have a decent sized thing to travel with as it lasts a good while. Would I repurchase: yes, for full size and travel size.

Superdrug Cocoa Brownie for Brunettes Dry Shampoo: Sometimes the white marks with dry shampoo can be really annoying, so I thought I’d buy a dry shampoo aimed at brunettes as I didn’t find colab did anything for me when I tried it. I did actually like this, it didn’t work as well as batiste but it did soak up the grease/oils and refreshed my hair. It is especially useful on days where you need to do your hair 5 minutes before leaving the house as you don’t have to work it in properly. Would I repurchase: possibly.

Elizabeth Arden Pretty (Travel Size): I’m slowly using these up one empties at a time, although at present I am planning to keep the bottles as I think they are so cute and I think I will keep them to display once I get a proper vanity. I never know how to describe the smell of this one it’s just floral and girly, although the official description calls it a ‘Fresh Floral Fragrance’. Would I repurchase: Possibly, a lovely scent but there are definitely ones I prefer.

empties tf primark

Halo Hand Wipes: I brought these for Slam Dunk way back in may for keeping hands clean and hygiene reasons. I then forgot about them for a bit preferring to have anti-bac hand gel in my bag, when I found them I used the remaining ones to clean my hands when apply makeup and tidying everything. They do the job, but tbh for makeup removal and tidying just use a normal facial wipe. Would I repurchase: great for festivals but otherwise I wouldn’t bother.

Vaseline Derma Beauty Deodorant: I’ve never tried a Vaseline deodorant before but it was on offer and I felt as though I didn’t have anything to lose by trying it. It smells nice and works well, I don’t really feel as though there is much to say about a deodorant past the point of it works well and smells nice. Would I repurchase: probably, I’m not too fussy with deodorant.

Cuticura Primark Exclusive Sparking Fruits Hand Gel: I love non sterile smelling hand gels, I don’t know why but I just prefer it, when I saw this I just couldn’t resist and I’ve liked the previous cuticura hand gels that I have tried before. It smells like a delicious fruit cocktail. Would I repurchase: yes.

Superdrug Nail Polish Remover Acetone Free: I’m super unfussy with nail varnish if it does the job I like it, slight downside of the acetone free one is that it can take that bit longer to remove nail varnish. All in all not bad, not great but not bad. Would I repurchase: I wouldn’t rule it out.

There you go another empties, I’m getting so much more determined to use things up by doing empties posts rather than having several items on the go at once. Although I will try to use stuff up no matter how much I like something as I try to make it work, or pass it on.

Empties #8

Empties #8

Another empties for you again today, something that I feel as though I am always doing so I like to spread them out and they end up backing up. Saying that I am unsure if I would want to do a monthly empties as I feel as though it might be loads one month and nothing the next. My current method I feel as though works as I make the post when it feels worth it to do so, so let me know what you think monthly empties or when I have a significant amount of empties. This is a long once so brace yourself.

makeup empties

Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light: This was a huge dud for me, not only was it was too dark but the texture was completely wrong for me, making my skin look dried out and barely blending. I was initially put off by the too dark colour but tried it anyway for review purposes, I was so disappointed I never got round to the review. I finally managed to finish it by using it as a eyeshadow primer as its still a better primer that the soap and glory eyeshadow primer and I hate wasting my money.

Would I repurchase this: bottom line, no. There are way better stick concealers out there or even doe foot concealers in the drug store for much less.

Soap and Glory It’s About Prime Eyeshadow Primer: This was another Soap and Glory dud and if you’ve gathered from above it was useless. It barely extended the life of my eyeshadow and worst of all it made primers that didn’t crease previously, crease when using this underneath. Also for the same price you can get a travel sized Urban Decay Primer Potion, and the urban decay travel sized contains more. So spend your money on the urban decay primer potion faultless and it costs the same. I don’t know if the other colour is better as I have the nude champagne colour but I’m not willing to try.

Would I repurchase this: another rather obvious no, opt for urban decay travel size as mentioned above same price for slightly more.

Off topic but am I the only one who Soap and Glory products don’t work for, I haven’t tried the brow products and the bronzer is alright. I think it is an occasion where it is a brand that doesn’t work for me but if it works for you go for it. Still there skin care and bath products are in general really good but I think I won’t bother with the makeup anymore.

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer: I’m still not sure who recommended this one to me and it was you I’m so sorry, this is amazing. My favourite primer is still probably my bareMineral primer but this is way more affordable and will be one that I will continue to purchase. A thick cream primer that just sets up your skin nicely and meshs well with other Rimmel Foundations. Personally I find that Rimmel does some of the best foundations within the drug store, does anyone else find this?

Would I repurchase this: most definitely.

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory: This is a great concealer and a good level of brightening as it is the wake me up formula, it is definitely more of under eye rather than a spot concealer due to the brightening properties but it’s a very good drug store concealer.

Would I repurchase this: yes I already have a second one.

Saiva Med Lip Care: I’ve had this for ages and its started to look a bit off so I’m getting rid of it. It has no scent but is great at treating and hydrating the lips and I’m trying to look out for another one, only problem is my mum picked it up in Lidli so I might have to get looking online.

Would I repurchase this: If I ever find it again yes, great for treating damaged lips.

P.S. Love Egg Shaped Makeup Sponge: This has done me since February/March time I think but it’s got passed its best and it just looks worse for wear every time I attempt to clean it. Although it is fairly firm I really love applying my make up with this it just blends everything so easily and helps me look flawless.

Would I repurchase this: I already have.

skincare empties

Lacura Facial Cleansing Wipes for Normal Skin: These I picked up from Aldi on a whim as I thought tesco had stopped doing their everyday wipes but magically they are back. These were alright as far as wipes go and they were relatively inexpensive although I cannot remember the exact price, less than £1.00 anyway. Generally really good and managed to move most of the makeup. Good for if you want to take makeup off before doing a proper routine later or just to clean up your face part way through the day if it’s a bit grimy.

Would I repurchase: probably, not in a rush to repurchase but I wouldn’t not get them again.

Superdrug Deep Action Anti-Blemish Gel: Most of my skin problems are hormonal, time of the month and all that, so I cannot prevent them and all I really have to do is make an effort to reduce them. This is where this came in handy, in order to reduce spots especially the big ones that seem to magically appear and you think you’d need a miracle to get rid of them. Sure they aren’t magically gone in 12 hours but when does that ever happen. It does however, significantly reduce the amount of time it’s there.

Would I repurchase: Yes, I already have but I always wait until superdrug has a regular offer such as 1/3-1/2 off own brand skincare.

Superdrug Deep Cleansing Facial Sheet Mask: I love sheet masks as they are so simple yet this was a bit of a miss for me, I love there refreshing sheet mask. This semi stung when it tingled and smelt like old talcum powder, yeah so basically not worth it.

Would I repurchase: No way!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser and The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner (Travel Sizes/60ml): I am doing these as a pair as I’m only used these as a pair, I have mentioned them in previous posts and I really enjoy them. I am not sure how to describe the scent but it’s very subtle, and they go on so smooth and easily leaving your skin feeling amazing. Also they are highly effective at removing makeup

Would I repurchase: probably.

Simple Kind to Skin + Brightening Eye Makeup Remover Pads: I got these for travelling which you will be able to see in my travel toiletries post here. These are so-so they do a decent job at removing makeup but not perfect, I prefer the Halo eye makeup remover pads. They are good for travel and not a bad buy. Yet with the travel size make up removers and cleansers becoming more common I think I am less likely to buy these sorts of things while travelling.

Would I repurchase: unsure.

deoderant empties

It is somewhat worrying that I have enough deodorants to warrant to move them out of random and move them in to a section of them own. To be honest two of them are miniatures which makes it slightly better.

Sanex Dermo Pro Hydrate Anti-Perspirant Deodorant: I think this was in my last empties too as I brought them on a multi-buy offer, I am not loyal to any one deodorant I just tend to buy what’s on offer. Yeah its alright and does its job there isn’t much to say.

Would I repurchase: yeah why not.

Dove Go Fresh Anti-Perspirant in Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena (Travel Size): Although these travel sized ones aren’t value for money, I find them so irresistible and cute I cannot help buying them. Also in the summer months it’s sometimes nice to keep one in your bag because you know sweat. This is my all-time favourite deodorant scents and I regularly buy the full size version of this.

Would I repurchase: Yes!

Sure Women Long Lasting Protection in Bright (Travel Size): I never normally get sure products but I wanted another miniature and this seemed like the best option. I actually thoroughly enjoyed it and might look to try more sure deodorants in future:

Would I repurchase: Probably.

random empties

Colgate FluriGard Daily Rinse: I love this mouth wash, it really freshens your breath and cleans your mouth. I know most of the time all mouth washes do the same thing and this is on the pricier side of mouth wash but I couldn’t imagine using anything else. It was first recommended to me by my orthodontist when I got my braces when I was 10/11, so yeah I’ve been using this for a good 10 years now I’m not going back now.

Would I repurchase: Definitely.

Nailene Ultra Quick Nail Glue: I tend to buy primark nails as they are so pretty and tend to be well made, especially for £1-£2.00 per set but the glue is a bit so-so. Therefore I buy this amazing nailene glue, it really does the job and takes ages to dry up so I can take ages between wearing false nails. Highly recommend it for whatever nails you buy and buying this for one set of Primark nails is cheaper than buying an elegant touch set and they look just as good.

Would I repurchase: Definitely.

Quite a healthy mix of empties this time. Have you tried any of these products and if so what did you think of them.

Morrison’s Sensitive Aloe Vera Shave Gel: I’ve gone through a number of these now and I know it has appeared in a few empties, it is a brilliant inexpensive shave gel and leaves my legs soft and smooth. This is a staple in my bathroom cabinet.

Would I repurchase: I always do.

Gillette Satin Care Pure & Delicate Shave Gel: I actually liked having the smaller size for ease of travel, meaning I could keep having soft legs while away as I feel like shave gel makes such a different. I will definitely look a pick up the smaller sizes if I’m going away again it is definitely worth it.

Would I repurchase: yes.

Cussons Carex Complete Strawberry Laces Refreshing Hand Gel: I think I have mentioned it before that I don’t like alcohol smelling gels. This didn’t smell like strawberry laces but it had that synthetic strawberry scent and I really enjoyed it, other than the smell it’s a hand gel and does its job a definate must in my bags.

Would I repurchase: yes but I’m not fused by what my hand gel I have as long as I have one.

Argan Oil Deep Moisturising Foot Pack: I love foot packs but this one left my feet feeling super odd, I think I’ll go back to the peppermint or tea tree foot packs from now on.

Would I repurchase: no.

Phew! That’s everything and it can now all go into my recycling, well everything that is recyclable of courses. Have you tried any of these and what did you think of them.

Empties #7

empties

I never know how to start an empties post its like ‘hey everyone look at my trash!’, it is an odd premise but always insightful. The only difference between us and huge ass youtubers and beauty bloggers is that we tend to pay for everything ourselves or have limited money, we tend to use everything up no matter how much we like them but it is still useful to find out what people think of items.

Skincare

Skincare

Superdrug Tea Tree Skin Care Exfoliating Cream Wash: This is something that I tend to use once or twice a week, or as and when I remember just to thoroughly clean my skin. It is quite scratchy and rough so I think next time I’ll go for one with the exfoliating beads in that is less rough.

Balance Me Daily Essentials Pure Skin Face Wash: I got this with a free with a magazine and I have been thoroughly enjoying using it daily, but the full  size product is £16.00 which as a student feels like an awful lot for a face wash. It feels amazing and really cleans the skin but the price is off putting.

Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads: I do love using facial pads as a quick but effective way of clearing up and dirt and build up on the skin, I’m all about the corner cutting. This was nice to use really cleansing and clearing and I’d recommend them if you can pick them up at a good price although I think they are probably better value for money across the pond than here in the UK>

L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Micellar Water & L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfecion Cleansing and Perfecting Milk: I’ve grouped these two together simply for ease, both amazing when paired together and when used individually. Both all of your make up with minimal effort and leave yous skin feeling clean and fresh, I love having a quick but effective make up removal method. I have loved using both of these and I will definitely make sure I will come back to these in future although I am currently using the Ganier Micellar water. I’m definitely a micellar water convert.

Body

I Love Strawberries and Cream Refreshing Body Spritzer: Although I love perfumes there is something nice about still using body spritzers, with a fruity light fragrance which is great to throw in your bag if you need a refresher throughout the day. Also sometimes you don’t always want a heavy perfume so these can be great, also they come with plastic packaging so it is ideal for travel and are worry free.

Macadamia Oil Extract Foot Pack: I love trying out new foot packs as I find them one of the best ways to deal with dried and cracked heal. There is very little difference between any of the foot packs I’ve tried but with them only costing £0.99 per pack it doesn’t matter what you pick up. I highly recommend picking up a foot pack or two especially as it gets into sandal season and you want your feet looking there best.

So that’s another empties over a done with, slightly smaller than usual but I don’t want too much crap building up.

Empties #5

1

As I seem to go through phrases of empties everything I own seems to be running out out of everything simultaneously at the moment in massive lumps and chunks. I think it seems like more as everything that seems to last forever have run out at a similar time so its a big bunch. Anyway you guys know the drill, you look at my rubbish and I give you guys a mini review of it. So I apologise that it hasn’t been long since my last empties these things happen as I’ve had so many empties lately.

Make Up

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer for Dry & Sensitive Skin: I absolutely love this stuff, it will forever be a part of my make up routine. I am indifferent to the normal vs. sensitive so I just pick up what ever is there or on offer as I have normal to dry skin and they both work amazingly. I had dreadfully dry skin over the start of the year and this was such a life saver just adding a super moisturising base for my make up.

Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool: I’ve had this for ages but kept putting off using for ages as it had cracked but at home its not that messy to use and I have so many opened pressed powders I thought I just need to use it. This used to be my favourite before trying the Collection Pressed Powder, it is still a great powder and is really inexpensive I just much prefer the collection powder and as Superdrug is more convenient to me so its easier to grab collection.

Collection Pressed Powder in 18 Ivory: As I’ve mentioned above this is my all time favourite powder and I’ve already go a replacement, it is nice they go so light with the powder colours but it doesn’t look to chalky or white on the skin. If you are a pale girl I suggest trying it as it is only £2 ish.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair: This is one of those beauty blogging super hyped products that is actually worth it. It has such a high coverage and blends so easily, I’m not keen on this for under the eyes but its perfect for covering up blemishes. The only thing I hate about concealers in this style is the packaging as you can easily tell that there is loads of product left but you cannot possibly reach it.

NYC Cover Stick in Light: This one sucked its so thick, my mum has it and over summer I used it and it was amazing but I couldn’t seem to get it to work. Maybe I got a dud one but it doesn’t bother me too much as it was so inexpensive its not like I wasted a ton of money but I’ll stick to other concealers from now on.

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist: I got this for event work last summer to try and help my make up last all day when rushing around. I have less of a need for it so I’ve been using it for my long ass day at university and work or for special nights out. For £5.00 this was great as it really helped my make up last and I think I may repurchase although as I do not currently have a need I haven’t bothered yet.

Bath and Body:

The Face Shop Sparkling Wine Face Mask: This was another little Canadian treat from Danielle and I just this a relaxing bath treat before my birthday. I love using face masks and I think I’ve been converted to small packeted and paper/cloth ones. This also smelt like fanta grape which is a huge plus in my head.

Sweet Snuggles Vanilla Bath Fizzles: I picked these up cheaply from Superdrug as I’m not allergic to them and I love vanilla. However they were a bit of a dud they added nothing to the bath no smell, change to water or anything which kinda sucks but it was worth trying maybe I’ll find something better elsewhere or I’ll stick too loads of bubble bath.

Ted Baker London Body Souffle: This was another little thing I got in my gift set for chirstmas from my sister and I love the scent its so pretty, in case you were wondering its rose and sandlewood. I’ve just been using it after my shower most mornings and it simply soaks into the skin leaving it silky smooth and smells awesome. I might buy a full size on its own at a later date once I’ve used up all of my body shop body butters up.

Dove Go Fresh Anti-Perspirant in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena: I love this deodorant and I think I’ve had this in an empties before its simply my go to I love Dove products and deodorants and this by far is my favourite one. To be fair there isn’t much more to say.

Sanex Zero 24 Hour Deodorant: I have no idea if this is TMI or not but when I used to shave my under arms they used to get really irritated and I know you aren’t technically meant to use deodorant after shaving so I use this every few days when I shave under my arms so I’m protected and I’m no longer irritated.

Hair

TRESemme Heat Defence Spray: These bottles always seem to take forever to use up even though I use it every single time I put heat on my hair from using my hair dryer to straightening my hair. This stuff works so well and I always make sure I have a back up, I even have a travel sized one for holidays as its just that good and the travel sized ones are adorable.

Have you tried any of these products if so what do you think and what have you be loving at the moment?

Empties #3

DSCF4361

Its seems ages to have empties then I have them all at once. I always love these types of things as because someone’s tried them in full you get a clearer idea of what they are really like so here we go.

Skincare
DSCF4353
Superdrug’s Sugar and Spice Self-heating mask: I haven’t used the sauna/self-heating mask in years and I just had an urge to have it plus it vanilla and I cannot resist anything vanilla. I put it on while I had a lovely long relaxing bath and it was so nice highly recommend trying out. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.

Superdrug’s Fruit Sorbet Antioxidant Peel-Off Mask: Another from my mask buying spree before I brought a tube of one. I love peel off ones as I always feel like they do more for clearing your skin, I don’t think they always do but I always feel better after. Its beautifully subtle fruity fragrance as sometimes fruity scents are really overpowering. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.Superdrug’s Cleansing Facial Wipes (for sensitive skin): These were a complete dud, really dry and barely took off any make up. To hope to get any make up off I’d really have to scrub my face and eye area which is no good for my eye health. In the end my boyfriend just used them occasionally or used them as hand wipes. I’m now back to my tesco everyday value face wipes as they are 50p and so amazing. Available from Superdrug for £0.99.

Superdrug’s Pore Cleansing Pads: Initially I picked these up for my boyfriend but now we both use them in just a very quick and simple step to add to my skin routine. Also pretty much all of Superdrug’s own brand stuff is on offer and I love most of the stuff I’ve tried so far, inexpensive and amazing. Available at Superdrug for £2.69 however, its always on buy one get one free.

Escenti Tea Tree Facial Wash Gel: This got dropped on the floor and the cap broke, it just went every where which really sucks so half of it was wasted. A good inexpensive face wash and tea tree has great benefits although as its body care and there isn’t one in my university town I’ve replaced it with a face was from the Superdrug tea tree range.

Makeup

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Light Porcelain: I’ve already repurchased this as its such a great foundation especially for us very fair skinned girls which often find it hard to find a good drugstore foundation shade. Although I think by now pretty much everyone has seen/tried it so there is no point going on and on. Available at Boots and Superdrug for £8.99.NYC All Day Long Smooth Skin Foundation in Classic Ivory: This is one of those never mentioned products but is actually really good and its great value for money, also its so inexpensive and great for those trying out. I haven’t repurchased as this is the lightest shade and its too dark and pretty much done so its time to throw it out. Available from Superdrug for £3.99.MUA Cover and Conceal Concealer in Light: Super cheap and not a bad colour match consider there are only 3 colours but they are way too limited. I found the formula really watery and it only hides tiny flaws so not really a ‘concealer’. Definitely better to spend more or a better concelear as there are such good ones available at the drug store. Available from MUA and Superdrug for £1.00.

MUA Blush in Bon Bon: I love this blush but I dropped it and it smashed but as its £1.00 and its more effort than its worth to replace it so I simply brought a new one. It just adds a subtle flush to your face, definitely worth looking at the MUA blush range and at £1.00 each there is no excuse not too. Available from MUA and Superdrug for £1.00.

Other

The Body Shop Passion Fruit Shower Gel: I love passion fruit and this is amazing. Okay as far as I’m concerned shower gel is shower gel, I’m clean that is all that matters but it smells amazing. Available from The Body Shop for £4.00 £2.00.Dove Go Fresh Compressed in Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena: I’ve had this in my other empties and there isn’t much to say. Works well. Smells nice. Its deodorant what more is there to add. Available everywhere.

And 2 dried out unknown nail varnishes and a knock of beauty blender.

Lots of Love,
